I always have had my boss rc300 first in the line I just assumed it's how it's supposed to be dont but idk though I have played guitar for almost 20 years I just recently got obsessed with effects in particular the filter auto wah stuff man do I love to funk
Easily the most concise breakdown of one of the most powerful filters I've ever known! It's daunting looking at the manual, but seeing this makes it so much easier to dive into the funk! Thanks!
If you're watching this and thinking about getting one,DO IT. The pedal is worth the price out of the box with the factory presets. The ability to load user presets from the website makes it a steal. Plug it into the editing software and you'l understand that it is indeed the ULTIMATE FILTER (and I have owned almost all of the legendary envelope filters)
Other than the tuner/compressor/DI pedals that I already have, I'm beginning to think this and the Aftershock are the only things I'll ever need for bass. Source Audio is amazing
yeah, i have the soleman midi thing too, so you can combine the sounds from multiple pedals and save them as pre sets on the soleman footswitch. the customisation in these pedals is incredible.
Great Demo, insane sounding pedal. I have the SA Aftershocks, which is amazing. I don't really need anything like this, but.... looks like it could be alot of fun! 🤔
Listening to you and others play these excellent demos feeds my passion for effects pedals. DISCLAIMER: I do not hold Adam Aarts responsible if I blow my monthly budget on music hardware just because he highlights excellent sounding pedals!
did you happen to save any of these settings on the source audio page? I really dig the Alt Tron setting but I cannot seem to get it to match with the settings you have shown.
Other than the video reference I didn’t save anything. Should be at or close to what it shows during that section. It helps thicken it up to have mix 100 percent wet, and then finely adjust sensitivity and frequency to get it just at the right spot.
Adam Aarts it sounds different tho... like where you have the switch vs the sounds coming out. It’s kind of confusing and hard to explain but I followed your settings to the letter from your video and it didn’t sound like that lol
I’ll take a look and try to figure out that sound, what’s the time stamp so I know what sound you want? I may have mixed up my images and put the wrong one in the wrong spot!
@@AdamAarts the effect change at 6:36. I followed the video to the letter and it just wasnt the same sound. thanks for your help my friend! question also... when you power the pedal off and on does it save the effect you were at from the knob turns? Meaning does it power back on exactly on the effect you shut it off on or does it reset of sorts and you have to find those settings every time? from what I can tell the settings you find reset which is a bummer. Thanks man!
While waiting for the Spectrum and the C4 to be available in my region I wonder with which one to go. In the Neuro App it seems almost all Spectrum presets work on the C4 but not vice versa. So I wonder: Is the Spectrum a light version of the C4?
Spectrum is for filter sounds. C4 is for synth sounds. The C4 can load Spectrum presets as well, but the Spectrum can’t load C4 presets. The Spectrum is slightly cheaper. If you want just filter then Spectrum is the right buy, if you want both then you have to get the C4.
@@AdamAarts Wow thx. Very important information. Did not read about it at all. Is it also possible to load on the c4 presets of other source audio pedals? Where I can find the information which presets of other pedals could be loaded on the c4?
Man. This is sick af. & your Riffs in the intro were like some Timmy C style ish funky but heavy nice head nodders. Your in a band/ solo recordings to check out anywhere online? (Literally just stumbled upon this vid so sorry if this infos already out there.) I like this pedal a lot. Xx
Most of the stuff I do is just for this channel. I have recorded quite a bit, one day I’ll get a website and lost everything. My favorite one I did was a band called LSC and the song was ‘Makes Me Feel’ I also play at a church called Sandals Church, they have some SoundCloud stuff I’ve recorded on. Timmy C is one of my favorites! Thanks for the kind words!
If I remember correctly, it was just the spectrum into the Walrus Audio Slö then into Eventide Rose delay. I don’t believe I used any drive before of after it
omg i have no idea what to buy now. I am looking to mimic that bass synth sound that Nine inch nails Closer bass has to either a C4 or now this. I know is mostly envelope filter and an Octave, so is either this or Spectrum. can anyone make a demo of that? i only seen it done on keyboard and some other youtubers but they barely show a setting.
It’s one of those things that I’d love to do. Every attempt I’ve seen to try and recreate this sound always sounds off. Even Trent doesn’t remember how they got the sound.
I just got one of these pedals and unfortunately it was all fuzz and sounded overdriven on every setting... then I downloaded the Neuro App and sounds AWESOME NOW!
Hmm that’s strange! Maybe the input volume was cranked too high by default. Either way, if it ever acts up again, contact Source Audio, their CS is awesome!
Sorry guys...I just got this pedal because of this review. but I cannot get the sound out of it you show in your video....and even the NEURO App doesn't work with my Android phone. :(
I’d say it can, just has a different tone to it. If that’s all it’s used for then it’d be more cost effective to get an OC-2. If it’s just one of many settings then it’s a good option!
@@carlonschop Mine hasn't come in yet, but I think it is possible to make an only-octaver setting in Neuro. There's probably already a community preset for it.
@@carlonschop Did some more digging, and confirmed that it can do an only-octaver. Can also do only-phaser. This guy made one, 2nd preset in this video: ruclips.net/video/pU06bx5zbek/видео.html
@@carlonschop Yeah, if you go to the Community section of the Neuro app, there are several octaver patches people made. There are even -1 only octave patches for that unique OC-2 effect that's very close to the Boss OC-2. Been watching for 30 seconds and I already want a mirrored top-hat and star-shaped glasses.
Adam! This video rules. Thanks for plugging into the Spectrum.
I have been waiting for this kind of demo for month. Thank you so much. I could not have asked for more.
I appreciate the fact that NOBODY else has figured out what you have. Looper before effects. ✊🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great demo Adam!
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Seriously the only pedal you need
Wowwwwwwy thank you for such an awesome demo, gonna get one!
How does the tone of 7 minutes and 25 seconds come out?
Thanks Adam for the gift card! Rock on man!

Yes. And this pedal turns into Devil !

Alt Dumpling is what I meant

That bass at the beginning is a Warwick, but not the picture that comes up when I type in Warwick Star Bass... O_o
