definitely thing Roxas's story should have ended in kh2. i love him, fav character especially since kh2 was my first. but tragedies are stories too. Xion to me felt more like a friend to Roxas and Namine felt more like the romantic thing. well in KH a boy cant have more than one female friend so i can see why it happened.
pretty sure that was supposed to an actual thing but Nomura got butthurt from being kickout of FF vs 13 ( kinda don't blame him but he's also at fault) and basically made Riku his interpretation of noctis and namine as Stella ( which weirdly more boring than the characters from FFXV) I mean it's quite obvious when u look at the secret ending.
Don't know if anyone's told you, but in an interview it's stated that the guardian is called "The person standing behind (you)" and that's the most Jojo sounding shit ever
Imagine how cool it would be if we fought the organization members one on one in the worlds they appeared in, and then had the three on three battles in the end like they are now. That would allow the players to realize how much stronger Sora had become throughout the game. First hardly being able to defeat a single organization member, and then being capable of taking on three at ones.
Also... it should be noted that Saïx/Vexen was reformed but said himself he chose to rejoin the organisation, so I’m thinking that all the Organisation members were reformed with some choosing to rejoin
And it should be noted that in terms of Xion’s return... there another way: -Vexen and Xemmas recreated her since they were the ones to create her initially, and they still had access to the resources in the World That Never Was to make her there.

@@TheKpa11 I was thinking he's some double/triple agent watching behind the scenes as a guy making things work out for Sora for some ultimate convulated plan.
@@Finalblue1234 yeah that's what I figured too, mostly on Braig or whomever coming in to take over or hijack the situation after everything blew over. But I'm kind of skeptical on the execution yet to be written (Insert KH in a nutshell here) I've kind of seen that when you have characters go all out to attain something or discover something that they leave holes to be filled and slipped into by others due to the unwritten balance of power. Basically there's always openings for someone to take from someone else and it doesn't matter if those said others are more competent or more stupid, they just CAN. It's kind of sad in some cases as in the end of one's ambitions they may only serve as a pawn or decoy to test new grounds of the unknown or just to be the one to place blame when things go wrong as is par the course of history.
My headcanon for Arendelle is that people just spontaneously burst into song there, and that's just one of the wacky rules that world operates by. Like, in KH2 Atlantica the songs are all either performances or non-diegetic like musicals typically are. But Sora actively comments on watching Elsa bust out Let it Go, meaning she wasn't just singing for the audience, but for real. Coupled with the fact that Anna starts singing irl and then flashes back to doing the same, it just comes off that way to me. So now I just have random thoughts about a fruit vendor randomly starting to sing about catching his wife cheating or some shit.
Nomura clarified what was up with Terra's body, it came back the moment both Xemnas and Ansem were defeated and so did Master Xehanort. The problem was that the body had no sign of Terra or Xehanort in it and so Xehanort brought Terranort's heart from the past and placed it in the blank body. I'd also like to add that Saïx fighting Xion and Roxas was quite a good choice considering their past. Saïx treated Xion like trash in 358 and he also fights Roxas when Roxas decides to leave the org. This was left out of the movie version so it can be easy to forget but Roxas beats the shit out of Saïx and walks it off like nothing happened.
What really happend was that Nomura realised he messed up and tried to cover it up using dumb time travel logic that doesn't even follow the rules of time travel in the world itself, meaning that there was no meaning for this and terranort just happend.
Lynel Master which is funny because he didn't have to do that, based on his own rules there was a way to explain it better without doing the time travel junk. Here is what I thought happened before Nomura "confirmed" the real explanation: When Ansem Seeker of Darkness and Xemnas were defeated, Master Xehanort's heart rejoined with his original body (still don't know how that happened, so this part could still be a plot hole), while Terra's heart (defeated guardian) joined back with his body. Now here's the part where it would have made a lot more sense: we learn in DDD that a strong nobody can eventually regrow a heart and we know that this very thing happened to Xenmas, so why didn't Xenmas' new heart also join with Terra's body? It would make sense, as when Terranort allowed himself to be corrupted by darkness, it was Master Xeanhort's heart that left Terra's body, so when the time comes for a heart to grow in the nobody, it would be Terra's body. We also know that a nobody and their original self can both have separate heart's and separate memories/minds as this very same thing happened with Sora and Roxas. So in my mind, that is what happened, when "Terranort" showed up towards the end of kh3 it was Xenmas' new heart that was controlling Terra's body, not Terranort from the past. This also explains why he said "who are you?!" to lingering will, because this is the present Xenmas, he had amnesia of his past of being master Xehanort, but he did have all of his memories up to when he was defeated by Sora and Riku in kh2. The only thing that might be a problem is that Guardian was back, but that could be explained simply by saying either Xenmas or master Xehanort just re-released Terra's heart to darkness again. The old members of organization 13 who rejoined had to become nobodies again, so I don't see how this is any different.
@@kitkat7074 It would've been far easier to have Terranort be the antagonist for KH3 instead of doing all of this convoluted shit. Master Xehanort's combat experience + Terra, who's implied to be so fucking strong that his that his Lingering Will, which is a fragment of his whole self, kicked the shit out of Terranort AND Sora who was fresh off of the defeat of reality-altering Nobody who was ALSO a fragment of that same character. Have him bring back some of the Org members and bam you got an antagonist without all the unnecessary bullshit we've been given up until now.
I think you missed something in Xehanort's final monologue. He didn't want to just take over the universe; he wanted to reset the entire universe by corrupting Kingdom Hearts, in order to undo the original Keyblade War. He wanted to return the universe to the same One World he knew as a child.
Lovin this breakdown so far--you're a very good Ragebound :P Mildly surprised you haven't described the bad timeline where everyone dies transitioning over to a good timeline where they win in relation to Homestuck's big retcon twist, but I'm only like 20 mins in. Kingdom Hearts is apparantly the only series where we have to hold out criticism for the amount of content until the "full version". Other series' just give you a satisfying package up front while the DLC is extra.
About 20:13 I always just assumed terra has been roaming around all this time as the guardian. Terranort just has the power to summon him so the terra that repossessed the body never timetraveled along with terranort
The whole dying/coming back to life thing (what’s discussed about 23 minutes in) was essentially to make the times you died, selected Continue and then tried again and one thing canonical. All of those deaths in previous games really happened, Sora went to the Final World (the Moogle thing mentioned he’s been there before) and then got a redo. This time it was just expenses upon. Just adding some info to your fantastic explanations! 👍
Maybe. However I understood the final world to be an exstension of the station of awakening, which sora visited in his sleep at the beginning of kh1. Chirity pretty much say as much themself.
Honestly you make a lot of great points. The biggest point for me is that the lack of difficulty doesn't require you to engage in the combat lack the harder difficulties in KH2FM. I think the battle system is really solid with changing keyblades for different finishers, storing damage in the olympus keyblade and then quickly swapping it back to another keyblade, using flowmotion and warp strike in combos, multiple reprisals. There's a lot here, but sadly most people will miss this and if you use these strategies along with leveling and keyblade leveling, you just completely break the balance. Hoping for a proper critical mode soon. Edit: Oh yeah! Magic is awesome as well! With the way it can be weaved in and out of combos, its just great.
Fun fact and slight correction: The power of waking is described as using a heart to traverse to a world, this means that at the start of the game he uses the power of waking to get to Olympus coliseum.
@@jamesmorris-mott126 Is it though? I only ask because if that's true then Sora has spent the whole game using the power of waking, but only at the end of the game will it suddenly have consequences? Why? Seems like a poorly defined power with arbitrary rules and consequences to simply allow Sora to do and not do whatever the plot needs him to do.
Great fricken video. I liked that point about Old Hunters DLC at the end since I didn't know you were a fan. I am requesting a 2H epic review of Bloodborne + DLC. Please and thank you.
Me and KH1's platforming/puzzles are just like that episode of Spongebob where he has to give up working for the Krusty Krab and go work for Plankton at the Chum Bucket, and Mr. Krabs and Spongebob start singing a lamentation about how much they miss each other.
Actually, Herc did tell Sora how to get the power of waking. "I really wanted to save Meg and I saved her." which equals to Ven's "Wish for it hard enough." so ... everything after Hercules was pointless. Could've saved Aqua after that world XD
Sora time travels he doesnt remember, but his heart does. He didn't change fate and his friends "lost their hearts" like in the previous timeline, only this time he had the resolve and power to recover their hearts.
Game would have been perfect if it had: Better pacing, full Twilight Town, Radiant Garden, and FF characters. Lots of other stuff but these were the main beefs I had with the game.
18:50 it was mentioned that several members like Demyx and Vexen gave up being somebodies and just became Nobodies again. The only replicas used are Xehanort's different appearances, Xion, Namine, and Roxas.
I was skeptical at first because i felt like it controlled oddly, but i think the Gummi Ship section is the best in the series in terms of functionality. I the KH2 had better levels and monster designs, but KH3 has an overall easier editor and great emphasis on exploration and missions in the Gummi Ship
One thing that bummed me out was that the editions of KH2FM aren't referenced in KH3 such as Sora's prior meeting with Lingering Will or the fact Xehanort has data on all 13 original organization members... It could've made the replica + time traveling hearts plot less convoluted. Oh and getting back to Lingering Will, yeah that's still a thing. To your point how we're expected to just think things are fine with Terra using a replica body when his "soul" still exists as animated armor is asking for too much. All of this was just a way for Nomura to have his cake and eat it too with refusing to have the BBS trio age the 12-13 years it's actually been just to they can "be" around the same age as the original KH trio.
It should be noted also that Xemmas does acknowledge Xion’s existence directly in DDD when talking about Org. Members that grew hearts... there’s also the fact the Org was watching sora tee whole time in DDD... and would’ve seen his interaction with Xion
Alright, pet theory: Ava time Traveled into Kairi's body, Kairi is Saix and Axel's old friend in the research facility, and Ava's heart grafted into Sora in KH1 with Kairi's heart.
Oh man, the Nobodies not completing the set is so sad, I always loved how they were all basically RPG classes and they felt much more satisfying to fight than most Heartless mobs.
Dude no love for woody? That speech where he basically calls out xeho-whoever, just steps up and banishes the darkness? It was so fucking good i jumped up and cheered

Nomura just recently revealed some spicy lore tidbits in the KH3 Ultimania that you should include in your full review video
The damn el goblina meme killed me
hey man this was fan service galore. I loved the ending and final fight
definitely thing Roxas's story should have ended in kh2. i love him, fav character especially since kh2 was my first. but tragedies are stories too.
Not sure about Xaldin and Lexaeus, but I know Phil's japanese voice actor passed away so they just didn't replace him out of respect.
In the english version too?
@@JanizMakudomaru it's a japanese game, the japanese VA died. They didn't weite him any lines
Still could have gave us westerners our Danny Devito but I respect their decision.
Don't know if anyone's told you, but in an interview it's stated that the guardian is called "The person standing behind (you)" and that's the most Jojo sounding shit ever

@@mattbryant8320 after charging 30 dollars for what should have been free dlc. Ya.
To be real kh1 graphics wise and gameplay wise and atlantica makes it a good game
I just finished the main storyline after about ten hours of binge playing. For at least one viewer your timing is impeccable, sir.
My boyfriend, who hates kh RUclips videos, was genuinely so happy to see you again. He finds your humor the most bearable
Also... it should be noted that Saïx/Vexen was reformed but said himself he chose to rejoin the organisation, so I’m thinking that all the Organisation members were reformed with some choosing to rejoin
And it should be noted that in terms of Xion’s return... there another way:
-Vexen and Xemmas recreated her since they were the ones to create her initially, and they still had access to the resources in the World That Never Was to make her there.
Bra...you 10000% echo my thoughts and I feel like it gives me a voice in the world on how I feel about this game. Thanks for making this man. I genuinely and sincerely appreciate it. By any chance, have you ever done military service? Im very familiar with your sense of humor lol
You are so criminally underrated. I hate that I didn’t find out about you sooner.
One of my biggest takeaways from KH3 was realizing Xigbar is basically the Revolver Ocelot of the Kingdom Hearts series.
I figured he'd get possessed when he put that eye of MoM in him personally and if MoM was Luxu it'd be a two for one given the paradoxes of time travel.
Him just body hopping is fine too I suppose really a distinction without a difference
By terranort's heart you mean xehenort right? Also does that mean old man xehenort just showed up next to the lifeless body of Terra?
KbM I’m more surprised that Saïx had teamed up with Xion at first in the first place.
your editing has me cracking up, easiest sub ive ever given
I think you missed something in Xehanort's final monologue.
Excited to see what else you have to say!
Hey OD, big fan of your channel here. I had no idea you were into Kingdom Hearts. What did you though of KH 3 ?

@@optimisticDuelist Yeah, despite being more into the gameplay and world design of Kingdom Hearts than in its story, I shed a tear in some scenes, including the one you mentionned. The game definitly has its problem but in that regard it didn't disappoint.
Liked for the Riku in the car skit, but honestly wish I could more, great video.. the hastags... lol.
In with you on kh platforming man.
Anyone else?
Love the concept; frustrated with its execution Kh2 removed it completely in trade for tighter combat challenges but i would have preferred they just improved the platforming rather than dispose of it completely
@@MrMoises621
I feel kh3 wanted the controlls to feel more liberating and free especially with the addition of wall running but I feel it largely took away from my ability to simply enjoy the scenery and made me feel like I was running through a bounce house all the time.
Im with you dude. Im all about platforming. I really wish it was improved upon.
Salted I’m with you too! KH1’s platforming gets too much flak in my opinion.
really diggin that down with the sickness 8 bit outro
Luv u Video, i want to play with my boy Roxas (aka the best character form KH) as well
Thank you for being like, the ONLY reviewer to compare this to vanilla KH2 instead of Final Mix like it wasn't a game that had an extra year of dev time.
Kingdom Hearts is apparantly the only series where we have to hold out criticism for the amount of content until the "full version". Other series' just give you a satisfying package up front while the DLC is extra.
Oh my this is gonna be a long one.
Hype!
About 20:13
I always just assumed terra has been roaming around all this time as the guardian.
Terranort just has the power to summon him so the terra that repossessed the body never timetraveled along with terranort
Damn, Nate immediately plugging his "Kingdom Hearts 3.4 Explained" video
Terra truly was the LingeringCHAD

The whole dying/coming back to life thing (what’s discussed about 23 minutes in) was essentially to make the times you died, selected Continue and then tried again and one thing canonical. All of those deaths in previous games really happened, Sora went to the Final World (the Moogle thing mentioned he’s been there before) and then got a redo. This time it was just expenses upon. Just adding some info to your fantastic explanations! 👍
Maybe. However I understood the final world to be an exstension of the station of awakening, which sora visited in his sleep at the beginning of kh1. Chirity pretty much say as much themself.
Finally! Someone who loves the pirates world as much as I do!
This will be the death of me but let death come
Whenever I hear anyone say “Darknesses” all I can think of is the Charlie Murphy Rick James sketch from The Chapelle Show
Hey best guy, so you know, Xion’s return is confirmed to be covered better in the large DLC coming by the end of 2019.
Re+Mind looks amazing. Got me to buy the All-in-one package on sale and defiantly gonna get Re+Mind.
Finally, another video coming from you. Oh happy day...
This is one hell of a birthday present
Good birthday!

But be safe my dude

once you've read Homestuck, your views on time travel will never be the same.
Homestuck is gay
@@lizardman9494 It is indeed quite gay, and it is better for it.
Poncho see, this guy gets it.
@Malum even better now, Dirk is such a chad that he's doing his best to replace the shitty narrative
Fun fact and slight correction: The power of waking is described as using a heart to traverse to a world, this means that at the start of the game he uses the power of waking to get to Olympus coliseum.
So in order to learn how to use the power of waking, he uses the power of waking to learn the power of waking? You sure about that one?
It's extremely similar to how he uses the power to get to Kairi, and like Ventus said, the power of waking is always there when you need it.
Sephiroth Izunia 13 Yeah. Sora even constantly says throughout the game that line Herc said. “With all my heart...”
...Are you crazy? Saix is extremely important to the stories of these characters. At least, Roxas, Axel and Xion.
BestGuyEver Critical mode is out looks like your wish has been granted lol
18:50 it was mentioned that several members like Demyx and Vexen gave up being somebodies and just became Nobodies again. The only replicas used are Xehanort's different appearances, Xion, Namine, and Roxas.
"More comprehensive report"
But senpai, this shit is 1hr34m already, jesus christ.
**can't wait**
I know absolutely nothing about kingdom hearts, but I know for 100% fact that lingering will is the hugest fucking CHAD
Gurren Lagann and Kingdom Hearts. Best reasons to be subscribed.
It should be noted also that Xemmas does acknowledge Xion’s existence directly in DDD when talking about Org. Members that grew hearts... there’s also the fact the Org was watching sora tee whole time in DDD... and would’ve seen his interaction with Xion
I like kh3. I do. But, I haaaaaaate the story. This game is probably a 5 or 6 out of 10 for me because of it.
"blah blah blah people make videos about it go and watch theirs" bahaha... Dude. You're fricken hilarious. I subbed.
Dude no love for woody? That speech where he basically calls out xeho-whoever, just steps up and banishes the darkness? It was so fucking good i jumped up and cheered
In that outer with all the fragmented meme-y voice clips I was so bummed Siefer saying “lamers” was missing lol
For Phil's VA, the japanese VA died. To be respectful to the dead japanese VA, they left Phil with no lines. They mirrored that in the english version.
Holy crap, i'm so glad that im not the only person who liked the pirates world. I know alot of people don't like it but idk it was just kinda awesome when they just dropped me in the open sea
Is that the intro from khvids from back in the day? Man, huge nostalgia bomb.
Probably already commented, but Phil purposefully has no lines. The JVA died and it's customary for their speaking roles to not be replaced. Simple as that.
Hahaha, I like you man, so charismatic, I was dissatisfied with the ending, but I am glad that your critical of the bullshit this game has, like the pacing and the phrase "may your heart be your guiding key" and the way its used to ex machina everything. You earned a new subscriber, I cracked up, and that giraffe is stylish as hell.

Nomura has already confirmed Sora will be the main protag for the entire series, so as long as Kingdom Hearts goes on so too will Sora.
This is the best KH3 review.
Long vids means nothing but good solid key blade battles!!!
Did you make more KH3 videos and not add them to the playlist? You should really make a lecture on KH: "Kingdom hearts 101.5 final re:mix". Because that stuff was amazing
