A Perfect 10 for the site, really well thought out and built. Bold yet not overpowering this glorious site. Would love to spend a weekend here to refresh and reinvigorated spiritually
A beautiful balance between a special site and structure, thank you so much. I suspect the 9000+ residents of Waiheke Island, many of whom commute on the thirty-five minute ferry ride to downtown Auckland, will be fascinated to know they live on "a remote island in New Zealand"... then again, New Zealand is quite remote from most places... thank goodness! 👍
This home exudes a breathable fresh air!! I love the simplicity of this home & the breathtaking view outside combined with the architectural hallway. So smart, so sleek! Thank you Local Project
The architect speaks of the dualities of the home and that is really the sense I get. Its composition and shapes, together with the pavilion, give it a spiritual sense - like a place of worship. All the angles pointing towards the sky give it an ethereal quality actually. The materials (that BEAUTIFUL wood paneling!!!) and its placement on the land, on the other hand, make it grounded and subdued. Beautiful, beautiful work!! I'm ready for my wine and chips (to keep with the duality) on the outdoor tub. Sigh.....
Without an actual plan of the layout, it was hard to understand the internal layout and how it worked - i.e. The view of the kitchen as far as I could see was a bench with a sink in it. However externally it was easy to see from the aerial shots how it fit into the landscape. The interesting sculptural decking walkway looked awesome but its practicality/usability/connection apart from walking through was something I would grapple with. The position of the house and the location were outstanding with amazing panoramic sea views.
I liked the whole concept of the architecture where the nature blend with the ceiling, walls and plain cosy furniture but if I were you I would have built the drive way leading to the gateway and then my guest would walk down to the house. The gateway is as incongous as that object in front of the louvre musuem.
Lovely building, but i really hate it when professionals start using acronyms to describe work ( i avoid it at all costs with my design clients ). It really doesn’t need to be intellectualised.
What are you talking about?? I watched the entire video and nowhere did any terms or “acronyms” bother me. It’s a beautiful presentation and works smoothly with the visuals without any disruptive professional terms or whatever you are complaining about.
@@TheJoStephan the presented artstyle speaks to a certain group and youre comment shown it quite well . Thanks cool guy with a beautiful portrait pic for youre yt channel . Im sure youre quite fun to talk to
The language makes reference to the influence of Māori culture on the design process. I found it to be respectful of our tangata whenua and an inspirational piece of architecture.

the views from inside out @ 5.47 & 5.55 minutes are astonishing breathtaking, which you can see the architecture has truly captured.
Beautiful vacation home. complete and serene in its simplicity. Definitely a place to recharge. Bravo!

I was thinking the same thing lol
Beautiful, and its form doesn’t compete with the amazing surrounds. Restraint in its finishes draws the eye outside to the ocean views.
"Bold and empathetic..."
I've never heard it put quite that way before... and I love it.

What a fantastic and privileged location. The house manages to blend in perfectly
I love intelligent architecture. The view is unbelievable!
Oh wow... the kiwi's (with respect) never disappoint... the thought, design, build and essence.
Nice project, I would have liked to see more of the interior. The pavilion is extraordinary.
Some people live in the city jungle and others in paradise. This place is pure magic.
The house is stunning!!
Stunning location and the house looks perfect for the site. I feel relaxed just watching 👏👏
The evening view almost made me cry! What an incredible project! Love

that outdoor bath is stunning!
The local project seems to master the presentation of homes with high standards. ✨✨
Wow!
BEAUTIFUL GATEWAY PAVILLION!!!
always in love with all your project videos
It's so serene & tranquil. I would NEVER leave it! 😂😂😂
YES THIS IS THE KIND OF PLACE I WANT TO LIVE IN.
Sick. Simplistic yet still sophisticated design
all time favourite
Wow, a dream.
If all homes were built like this, more people would be positively affected by it, which is a beautiful thing to comprehend.
Absolutely wonderful project.
Stunningly simple and beautiful!
INSANE! Just wow
Thank you!
Extraordinary.
Beautiful
Spectacular
I always look forward to your new videos and I’m never disappointed 😍😍

creating heaven on earth
have you guys thought about doing a house tour for Noz Nozawa?

Excited 😂
really like the place and design for me the house kinda feels empty in a way
THE HOUSE TOO!!!

The white gateway shows that a fairly original concept can be embraced. The rest is a variation on dullness.
A place of heaven to get away from humans 💚💚💚
🥰
I tried to purchase two books but it’s not giving that discount

As a german i find it pretentious and offputting . Its beautiful what they've done so you don't need heavy words to tear it all apart

I also don't think there was "artstyle speak" I wonder if his use of Maori words is what you found confusing.

Now IKEA designs your homes so you can feel poor while you are rich.
Gimme a smoke hairdo!
That "structure" is the stupidest thing I have seen on this channel.
Beautiful.
I always turn off the sound because I can't stand the drivel coming out of the narrator's mouth.
Beautiful like living in a cardboard box
Man I hate plywood LOLz
