An Exclusive House Tour of New Zealand’s Most Luxurious Homestead (House Tour)

- A thoughtful marrying of architecture and landscape, Flockhill Homestead is a beautiful yet practical farm residence that offers a novel experience of the New Zealand landscape. This exclusive house tour goes inside a high country sheep station where Warren and Mahoney take a symbiotic approach to create an elegant refuge and interior design harmonises with the heavy masonry elements embedded in the landscape that can also withstand the harsh conditions.
The exclusive house tour shows a dwelling that responds to its incredible locale - in the way of outlooks, heritage and practicality. Located halfway between Christchurch and Arthur’s Pass, the homestead is perched on a plateau above the working farm, which offers an equal viewpoint of the mountains, limestone rock formations and Lake Pearson. A pool sits on the edge of the property at the top of a cliff, allowing one to feel as if they are floating above the dramatic landscape.
The exclusive house tour reveals The fluid approach taken by the team in the architecture and interior design of the homestead. Spaces are arranged in a single linear strip to access constant views towards the lake and mountains in the distance, fostering a continuous connection between internal and external spaces. The large home is designed for four individual owners so there are shared zones, including a communal kitchen and large fireplace, and private spaces pushed to the corners of the home.
The location of Flockhill Homestead is deeply exposed to the elements, which include rapidly changing temperatures and high winds. The homestead is thus made from durable stone and timber, providing retreat from the mountainous elements whilst still allowing immersion in the landscape. In addition, the pitched roof offers a utilitarian, beautiful structure that references the agricultural sheds that dot the local landscape.
Throughout the exclusive house tour, a restrained material palette ensures the focus rests more on the experience of the building and the furniture. Tinted concrete cast in slim layers, limestone flooring and Southern Beech, a native timber, are used. The stone floor allows natural light to enter deep into the home and is also reflected off the ceiling. The calm experience of shadow also adds a nuanced depth to the residence.
An exclusive house tour of Flockhill Homestead delivers an experience That inspires contemplation, exploration and the desire to immerse oneself in the captivating landscape.

Those views are incredible
Absolutely stunning home...and the view!!! I really appreciate seeing people walking through the home as you film. It gives us a sense of the proportion to living in the space. Bravo!
This is such an amazing home. The views of the mountains shrouded in mist and fog is so . . . I just want to be there. There is such a sense of peace. I could walk those hills for hours. I love the symmetry that exists within the home. As the road approaches the home, the entrance is symmetrical. The fireplaces with wood on each side are symmetrical and the layout of the outdoor pool. It's truly spectacular. The combination of wood and stone is so warm in the way the home feels. This home would be a magnificent place to stay in any season. Just spectacular. It's everything I would want in a home.
I adore how the boulders melt into the steps. The indirect light helps keep the mind off “tasks”. Well designed for a retreat!
The cinematography is >>>>>>>
The beauty of Aotearoa. This terrain and rainforest filled mountains with rain is just serene.
The home was stunning love the raw but warm feeling to it, and the views are beautiful
This is a masterpiece
We are all enriched no matter we will likely never see or experience this staggeringly amazing place and space. Award winning no doubt. A great congratulations to all the visionaries.
One of the best views I've ever seen on TLP! that 0.40 shot framed by those windows is so incredible!
Landscape and views are hard to believe. Stunning. Building fits perfectly. Well done.
The views and the environment is unreal. What a place!
One of the most incredible properties we have had the pleasure to work at. Excellent video TLP.
Keeping the lighting indirect is such a beautiful treatment with beautiful results, especially in this case. Thanks.
The breathtaking view sold me! Love the architectural style of home & the interiors itself work perfectly despite NZ conditions.
Thanks Local Project
Wow! What an amazing location and lifestyle combined with an exceptionally design property !
I liked very much the nature itself!!! The views are fantastic!!!
Views are amazing. It’s nice to see the fundamental farm techniques used in the construction of this house.
This elegant house is in perfect setting
Oh my goodness!! The views are entirely Awesome and overwhelmingly breathtaking!! I would call it the Great Escape!! 😊 from all the worries of this planet!!
No words, awesone.
The views are immaculate! ♥️
Really beautiful home love the landscape perfect getaway I can imagine how relaxing it is to be out there in nature go hiking kayaking bike riding then retreat back to that awesome modern home overlooking everything 🤤😍
Such a beautiful property!!! Inspiring
My family just brought a property like this but its a beach front view (in North Island of NZ), very cool house. gonna forward this to my dad, he'll get some good ideas watching this.
Men, WOW one of the best locations ever. And the project? AMAZING. It sems like it is from another world
Totally incredible!!!
I want to visit here. This is heaven for me.
I see so many crap on youtube when it comes to homes. but this is Art. As an architect I can say, without knowing whats inside, you can see by the details the team was highprofessional and i believe that the technical setups are too!
I would like to visit Flockhill Homestead someday and experience the serenity of this project and location
Kia ora e te iwi. Thank you for sharing. Breathlessly stunning.
Well done team 💪
its the most incredible views Ive ever seen in the house
execution is flawless. Well done.
Great design! Love it greatly!
Simply mind blowing
The view! Wow
🙌Wow always funtastic the real project. ☕cheers for this amazing cinema
Stunning, so beautiful. Wish i had money to afford a wee weekend in this place.
Gorgeous views - artistic video - was waiting for more of an understanding of the layout of the property, and the individual spaces including the kitchen…
Love it!
As much as I love watching these luxurious builds in the laps of nature, I can't help but see them as expansion of the urban in virgin natural territories in the future. I feel such houses, though beautiful, serve as an impediment to the flourishing flora and fauna around. Even if such houses are being built in the near future, I hope they follow green methods to reduce as much waste output and toxic emissions as possible. Also, it would be great if they note that in the videos so that it creates awareness...
Superb, well done❤
I loved, this is amazing, saludos desde Perú
WOW WOW beautiful home
Imagine waking up with that VIEW
Sòoo beautiful and tranquil
The house is stunning
Not gonna lie but my jaw dropped at 00:30 and the view blew my mind away. Good gracious, this is the most amazing view I've seen. I congratulate the owner of this dream house.
I said to myself "bullshit, that has to be cgi or a blue screen"
@@gandr.e.5136 As someone who's been to New Zealand, I can confirm that's what it looks like in real life.
You probably need to see it to believe it lol.
Oooh my gosh.. i love it. So mesmerizing.. can i visit for it plzzz🥺
Marvelous
Amazing😎
Wow... 😍
Phenomenon villa
Fkn unbelievably aesthetic architecture.
Lovely house. Great pallet for exhibiting furniture. Would have loved to design some pieces for the house.
Beautiful😍😍😍 greetings fron Germany 😉
The home is really quite nice but the views are absolutely stunning, I don’t think you could build a home on any budget that could be more desirable than the landscape it’s built on.
My jaw dropped for a total of 7 minutes
from this day forward, manifesting this home!
Man you got this one right !
I hate to be negative but please put some simple static shots in to your videos so we can get a sense rooms, some art shots are great but your eyes can't settle and take it in if that's all there is
Exactly, i simply cannot build up the shape of the house in my mind.
Yep
Yeah, feels like a moving slide show instead of a home tour. Pity!
amen!
I've commented the same in their previous videos i love these houses but the way they film these almost ruins it for me and it's such a shame cause these properties are gorgeous, instead of showing the landscape or exteriors from every angle possible for half of the video they could show more of the interiors, layouts also as much as i don't mind hearing the architect's thoughts about the house i think they could just show their face once or twice and the rest can be voiceovers since the video length is short
Now i'm just nitpicking i know but their way of documenting is kinda impractical it's like they focus on more cinematic experience than the actual house itself which is what i'm here for
Прекрасный дом замечательная архитектура и дизаин спасибо
I will live in New Zealand one day💯
no
шикарно
Everything except for the house is stunning
😍
❤❤❤
!Not a fan of the house nor the design, but those views are breathtaking!
❤
I know NZ is seismically active. Are the foundations outfitted with shock absorbers?
Is there any way to find the prices of the homes on this channel?
where do you get food from
Clearly built for function, not as a personal residence for a particular couple. I like the materials and the roof is cool, just wish large-budget projects weren't all made to be boutique hotels that have the idea for it to turn-over a dollar infused into the design plan. Make it personal, not generic. Anybody with a few throw pillows can make an airbnb
This is my nirvana
How do you get water supply at such locations?
Tank water I'd assume. Making that pool a very poor environmental choice indeed.
how much ??? if u had to guess
Very practical approach to solving your country's housing crisis
we need to solve the housing crisis of the 1%
@@Sulu-sw3zo how else to fatten them up
But does the videographer have an Instagram?!
Wait, this is an AirBnB house? Do you mean I have a chance? XD
if you have 18 k a night to spend yeah
Local project team, I can barely see the features of the home. Can you for once do a tour of a home with a proper walkthrough. The homes you show are quite lovely but it will be nice to actually see the home and not just snippets
these people should live in 15 minutes cities.....
Shame that native timber was cut for this house, taking 100s of years to regenerate.
Why does everyone in this house move so slowly? Weird.
I love when i saw a house not the view. I dont buy the montains i buy a house
Not cozy.
it's a big airbnb... wasn't meant to be cozy
i got a huge sense of boredom
Great view, spoiled by a generic modern unadventurous building. There's no sympathy with the environment at all, it's another blot on nature's landscape. Pretentious fancy words can't change the obvious.
"Democratise the bedrooms" LOL WTF does that even mean? This is just another generic Warren & Mahoney building. Nothing special at all.
Идеальная локация, прекрасный проект.
That would be some tough Maoris that lived in the mountains. It always amazes me that Maori lived that far south with limited clothing etc., and no double glazing in the whares:). Impressive building and view. I think the fire indoors and outdoors .. essential in making it cosy/livable in the winter. A wetback system would be a great idea. I see the concrete wall look in a lot of these new buildings; not my choice but in some way, it adds a particular earthy solid look to it .
Total rip off for 15k a night
newzealanders and architects... the ultimate ven-diagram of boring. lovely architecture though
The house is stunning
❤❤❤
