If those aircraft could talk the stories they could tell I could listen for hours from a retired aircraft mechanic who still can’t get enough of airplanes
Loved this video! The NA F-107 A looks completely badass. I imagine the thought of ejecting immediately in front of that uniquely-located massive engine intake would increase the pucker factor just a bit.
Love the drone explorations of the museum. I think about how just a very few years ago this kind of photography would have been impractical to the point of impossible, even if somebody was in the rafters with mountain climbing gear and all the responsible people looked the other way.
Still salty the 107 is out back... she was in top notch shape and that finish was bright and clean before going there. Nice to see the Mixmaster and Jetmaster get moved out of the back corner- I hope they are restored eventually. Swoose looking beautiful as always too!
The Smithsonian, as usual, screwed those two airframes over pretty badly. "Yes, let's cut off the wings instead of unbolting them. Oh, the NMUSAF wants them in a trade? Sure! We misplaced the wings, but what does that matter?"
That Ju52 looks almost intact! Shouldn't be too hard cleaning her up! And with ACCURATE historical markings, no less! The He111 is awesome, too...hope to see her returned to her German roots! No Japanese birds, sadly?
Also not shown is the Convair XC-99 prototype the largest piston-engined land-based transport aircraft ever built and was developed from the Convair B-36 Peacemaker bomber. Currently in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB also a part of the collection awaiting restoration.
Most of these aircraft were on display before they built the new hangar. Seems like they all could be on display again. There should be enough room in the other hangars.
Those overhead shots of the Spark Vark are going to be very helpful when it comes time to paint my model of the EF-111. 👍
It's an awesome aircraft, glad the views will help in your project!
I was gonna say the same thing!
You made us sit through 19:26 to finally see The Swoose...worth it...
I hoppe that you get the fifth hangar so that we can see more of these.
I always love the restoration and storage hanger fly overs.
This is what the perfect garage looks like in my dreams.
We agree!!!
Your drone pilot is worthy of a Distinguished Operator's Cross. Impressive skill!
Thanks so much Steven!!! It's a blast to provide these type of views of the collection.
Such an amazing collection, can't wait to see these treasures fully restored! Glad the swoose is under restoration.

That is quite a collection, a little bit of everything!
The trimotor aircraft at 20:24, is that a Northrop Raider? Cool!
I love these videos.
Thanks so very much!!!
What are the two aircraft at 15:02?
It's the two Vultee XP-81 prototypes.
Swoose getting done up right. Can`t wait to see her on display.
Isn't the douglas b23 for sale?
It was up for exchange.
@@USAFmuseumis it still up for exchange or has it found a new home?

For sure!!!
I want to go there and play!

"Oh that, it's just our jet engine and ejector seat collection."
hope they get that JU52 on display soon
No plans as of yet.
unfortuntately this "Ju" doesn't speak much german...
I really hope it comes back on display someday. It's been well over a decade!
@@e36s50b30yes, it's a CASA, but it's still a Ju-52. A rather unique looking aircraft amongst the rest of the collection.

@@willausterman3104yea that confused me, they aren’t small aircraft so how the hell do you lose the wings
They need a fifth building to get these aircraft on display!
Goals!!!
Ah!
I see you have the Tardis in your collection.
I hope to be able to see that MiG-25 on display some day!
16:38 what’s this wing from?
Serve the MiG-25 some Red Bull so it can finally get some wings!
Excellent view of what's on the horizon in the restoration shop. . .Which one of these is next through their doors?

There is a Zero in a box.
Where is the P-80R?
On display in the fourth building www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Visit/Museum-Exhibits/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/195772/lockheed-p-80r/
Sparkvark my beloved
No love for the Curtiss X-19 or the two Sikorsky R-5s?
Awesome video, but it might have been nice to include the years or service for the models.
Also not shown is the Convair XC-99 prototype the largest piston-engined land-based transport aircraft ever built and was developed from the Convair B-36 Peacemaker bomber. Currently in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB also a part of the collection awaiting restoration.
That AC is in Arizona that's why it's not in this video.
Would like to see the PR 17 back on display. Love these drone flyovers. 🇺🇲👍😉
Can you visit this hanger?
👍
Are any of these scheduled to be reinstated in the museum? Or at least behind the scenes tours..? 👉👈
No plans yet.

If anyone spots the Roswell crash debris, please be kind enough to post the timestamp. 😛
