    I’ve just begun my 1st Squares DP and I had only heard about the “checkerboard method”. Now I know this sounds weird, but after doing an area of it I started feeling dizzy! LOL! Has anyone else felt this way at all? I don’t know why it would do that but now, I can’t wait to try the “stair step” method. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

    I’ve done two square paintings before and was so frustrated I almost gave up on squares I decided to do the London One with the London Eye, Underground, and Telephone Booth in square and I’m so happy I didn’t give up.

    I love watching your videos, ive just started doing round diamond paintings, i would love to try round, but unfortinuely my fiances wont allow me to do a large paint as they can be expensive, i been ill for over a year now, and i find this comforting and very theroputic. I started with rounds and I bought a huge square painting. Haven't started it yet. Started working on a small one to practice and I must say I like rounds better. I will watch this video and see what's up.
    The card trick looks helpful thanks 😊

    I’ve been diamond painting for well over 2 years and only ever done rounds which I enjoy but there are paintings especially on DAC that I’d love to do but they’re square. After watching this video I think it’s given me the confidence to try doing a square. Thank you Rebecca that was very helpful

    Hi Rebecca, first of all thank you for all the great content on your channel. I'm also in the not so comfortable with squares camp. Have done 1 square before which I wasn't sure about. But that was when I first started my DP adventure. But a year on, today I got in the post a square liencsed art work. So your video has come just at the right time for me. By the way I live in new Zealand and usually wake up in the morning and watch your video over my morning coffee. Have a fantastic week. Will put up a finish in the Facebook page when done

    Awesome tips Rebecca! My first DP was a round and my second one was square. Rounds are quicker, however, I like the look of squares better! I enjoy working on both as you do. Thx so much for sharing such great tips and techniques for the newer diamond painters and us more experienced ones. I definitely love the steps over checkerboard.🙂

    I've done several squares, the only issue I have is that sometimes they're a little different in size so putting them up tight on one side, sends them all off center on the guide squares.

    Absolutely fantastuc information. I didn't think it made a difference to do steps or checkerboard, but boy was I wrong. I'm working on a painting now with large chunks of white, so I'm going to try those steps now. I've been watching you for a long time, and I never realized doing the steps looked so much better. Thank you so much for sharing this. It really does help!

    In my next diamond painting shipment, I will receive two square diamond paintings. Thanks to your video, although I was a little afraid to do a square diamond painting, I will give myself a chance and try and I will not be as critical of my work because it will be my first two square diamond painting. Thanks again for your video.

    Boy are you right about working with a lower quality DP which I’m working on now. The square drills are different sizes and sometimes not quite square. Another lesson I’ve learned is don’t purchase a diamond painting from a company that has no source for contacting them. I’m working on Two Hens Knitting which is so cute but one of the hens is using very light pink drills. So wrong. I wanted to give it as a gift, but so disappointed on how it is turning out, I’ve stopped working on it.

    • @cheryls_creative7048

      Good advice about the contacting. Thank you, I’ll bare that in mind, as I hadn’t thought of it.

    Noticed when you place squares on canvas, your pen is perpendicular (90 degree angle). Are you working on flat surface? On tilted easel, do you place pen perpendicular? Also, guess you use card to line up squares BEFORE you put washi tape down? Thank you, Rebecca! Extremely helpful video! Doing 1st square now, gonna try “stepping” instead of checker boarding. Great tips!!!🤩

      I was working on a flat surface for this, I tend to do the same when I work on my easel too.

    I have tried both rounds and square diamonds. I prefer rounds. I don´t need to place the edges of a diamond in the right angle with rounds. I started with a square diamonds.

    This is a great video. Not sure about others, but for the firs row I pick the most perfect square drills I can find to keep the guide edge as perfect as can be. With square paintings I’ve done some have tiny tabs or can be misshapen so those go in my trash because something like that on the canvas can never be straightened in my experience. Do you have any tips on how to handle those drills or is the trash the best solution?

    • @addmorezest
      @addmorezest  3 года назад

      I've currently working on one that has loads of little numbs, but they go on the canvas fine. You can sometimes cut them off with scissors, but the misshapen tend to go in the bin for me.

    Hello, I have a question. I just started, did a square one before but used the pen included, now I have a pen with metal tips but the metal tip for 1 diamond is too big for my square diamonds,, do you have a suggestion where and which tips I can buy that are small enough for the square diamonds?

    • @addmorezest
      @addmorezest  8 месяцев назад

      I only use the metal tips that we sell in our shop and they work perfectly for both round and square: addmorezest.com/shop/p/tips

    Is there a difference between the round and square diamond tool kits, or are they both the same?

    • @addmorezest

      They tend to be the same. Some sellers will include tweezers in the tool kit with square paintings.
