Try Xenogears and Xenosaga, great games. Still have the games on my PS1 and PS2.
Character models need to be touched up, and hopefully they do English voices for the NA release; I can't stand high-pitched anime squeals.

Xenoblade Chronicles was amazing, and this game will be too. I don't think they'll actually "improve" the character models, because the models are representing the art direction of the game. It follows the exact same concept of Xenoblade, too. Whilst the art style for the characters might not be for everyone, the environments and everything around looks absolutely amazing.

Criminal that a game of this caliber is being kept on the dead console that was the Wii U. Yes, we know X is huge and would be expensive to remaster, but I hope that if Xenoblade 1 sells well, they are intending to use the money to make Xenoblade X, justice.

Hope the game comes to NS. Nobody will be buying a Wii U anytine soon and the game will be gobe and forgotten forever if it stayed on that platform

They could honestly get away with a mostly straight port.
Just fine tune the loading speeds and some of the text sizes for the handheld screen, and you're golden.
I wish they add more to the story, reduce amount of tedium to get mech, allowing squad mech, add more caves and secrets. It is a big world and I know they were going for a MMO-esque experience, but the single player part is kind of meh. Group up to fight in multiplayer is more fun but it is such a pain with all the restrictions. If they allow for bracket of level and freedom to choose missions without progression restrictions, that would be great. If I'm honest, there's a lot to work on for Xenoblade X. It was a novel idea and I admire them for trying it out. If I can contribute to the remake if there's one, there would be so many things I had to work on that it's almost not worth it. A straight port would be sufficient, I guess.
Looking back at this trailer, it's amazing how much late-game stuff they showed.

The reason people seem to think the graphics got downgraded is because of the fact that this trailer consists almost entirely of close-ups of character faces instead of the insanely vast and beautiful landscapes shown off in the previous two trailers.
Looking at the Treehouse demo, you can clearly see that everything looks improved from at least the first teaser trailer we got.
I know some people speculated before this that the game would be an MMORPG, which was basically my worst nightmare, but this trailer told me one thing. The game WILL have a deep, intriguing plot just like the other games in the series.
Honestly, this seems to borrow a lot from Xenosaga, but with Xenoblades gameplay.

I was able to enjoy xenoblade with the graphics it had and this game has so much better graphics with landscapes even more than 5 times larger than they were in the first game and people complain about the graphics? Anyone who likes rpgs will buy this game, it will be the biggest and most awesome rpg ever created... everything will be improved since they were able to learn from the little mistakes they made in the first game. I was so relieved when they revealed this trailer, no stupid mmorpg, so awesome, 10/10 already.

Even if the story and characters will end up being not nearly as good as the original game, I still know I'll like this game even more based on the huge, beautiful worlds, mechs and refined battle system.

haha yea, I can't wait any longer either... I need this game now... I'll probably skip social life for 2 weeks once this comes out, but it will be the best gaming experience ever.
I really liked to see this becoming some sort of MMO. I mean, from what I have seen it will probably an offline game or an online game with up to 4 players, much like Borderlands, but since I had played a few MMORPG and disliked them, except one game (still with issues), I'd like to see Nintendo doing a MMO, just for the fact there is no "good" MMO out there. Nobody was yet able to give ppl the same feeling you know from your offline gaming into a massiv multiplayer game. Nintendo does have the talent people to be the first to do that, but I still don't think this game will be a MMORPG.
I'm glad it isn't an MMO. It would have pissed me off way too much. The only thing I'm worried about is the story, as I wasn't *too* impressed from the Treehouse demos. Given how long Monolith's previous games have developed, I hope that it's just a slow start. I love slow and gradual plots.

For the people yelling about a graphics downgrade. Their wasn't a downgrade the character models just look the way they look because of the facial close ups. But Monolith Soft has added anti aliasing and depth of field if you cant tell. the Dolls also look the same as they were in previous trailers.

Graphics are pretty decent for the Wii U. Keep in mind, this game may be bigger than the original Xenoblade's world, which was the approximate size of the Japan Archipelago, so some sacrifices have to be made, sure. Two things you can't deny are:
1) Dolls (the mecha) are freaking awesome (or that could just be my Gundam fanboying)
2) that EPIC SOUNDTRACK FROM HIROYUKI SAWANO!!! (seriously, if you haven't listened to the soundtracks of Attack on Titan, Gundam Unicorn, Guilty Crown, or Blue Exorcist, you are REALLY missing out)
Xenoblade Chronicles from Wii was the best RPG from that generation (including PS3 and Xbox) despite the graphics, games are not about graphics guys :)
They are a lot of games that were very good on Wii, but this one clearly has a special place on the podium

Xenoblade's graphics were and are awesome!
They're bringing in so much talent to make this the most epic game ever. Hiroyuki Sawano(Attack on Titan, Gundam Unicorn, Blue Exorcist) is composing the music, Takayuki Yanase(Gundam 00, Broken Blade, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) is one of the artists who is designing mechs, and Kazuho Hyodo(Gundam AGE, Gundam SEED Destiny) is helping Yuichiro Takeda with the script. Here are two bits of info from the executive director(Tetsuya Takahashi)'s Twitter:
“This time around, aside from Mr. Kunihiko Tanaka, I have also asked many other graphic artists to help with design. As you all might have already realized, many different types of extraterrestrial beings appear in this game, and each has their own characteristic culture. In order to convey the culture of each of these races through the game’s visuals, we’ve adopted the lavish approach of assigning different artists to each race."
"To tell the truth, the script for [Xenoblade Chronicles X] is much larger than it was for the previous Xenoblade. As it would be very hard to handle everything by himself, Mr. Takeda introduced [Hyodo] to me. As Mr. Hyodo is well-versed in sci-fi, I was able to leave things to him without worry."
Hot DAMN! Monolith Soft is on fire! An all-star cast of designers and an epic composer. Time to tell them and Nintendo to shut up and take my money!

juako lokillo lol no, even if you don't like the way they did the faces, it doesn't demerit all the other qualities. It still has excellent dynamic lighting and shadowing, textures, water effects, particle effects, everything. Saying the game looks outright terrible because you don't like one aspect of it is insulting and nothing short of trolling.
I liked the style of the character designs even though I've never played any Xeno games until I got Xenoblade.
It doesn't bother me that they don't look realistic, it just bothers me that they're... oddly blurry.

There was NEVER a downgrade.
Stop believing the delusion that every drone is trying to throw at you. Characters look the same, if not better than the initial reveal of the game. The only change is that now we ACTUALLY GET TO SEE THEM UP CLOSE.
The fact that the characters all look that way is utterly expected, as it's just the style of Monolith Soft. Have any of you played Xenoblade Chronicles? Seriously.
If you had played it, you would know that the character models were like that because it was simply their way of depicting characters. Most of the effort went into the world which you explored.
Watch the Treehouse footage. I repeat, WATCH THE TREEHOUSE FOOTAGE.
Surely, there are things to be graphically improved on (hence why it's coming in 2015), but in the stages it is in at the moment, this game looks superb, and definitely (in my opinion) better looking than anything coming to the "next-gen" systems.

This game is ALL about the world. It's all about all the creatures, mechs, armor, and it's ALL about the environment. The characters play a smaller part of it, and they're obviously trying to achieve a stylistic anime feel with them. There's nothing bad about that, it's just their way of depicting characters. They were NEVER trying for realism with the character expressions.
Either way, watching this trailer and the Treehouse Live presentation, this game looks absolutely phenomenal. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the view distance, the weather effects and just the scope and depth of the game is absolutely amazing. Not to mention the most noteworthy part, of course - the damn art direction. The art in this game is some of the most impressive I have ever seen!
This can NOT come any sooner! Buying this day one without any hesitation!

Xenoblade Chronicles was my favorite Wii game, and this will be the reason for why I'll get a WiiU this Christmas! I am also making my friend play Xenoblade Chronicles to hook him in and make him buy this. :D

it could be a non direct sequel takes place in the same world after the events of the first games years after or a direct sequel with new characters years after and someone is trying to bring back the main bad guy in xenoblad if thats true then the monado will appaear again

from what i can make out of it, it seems the people previously from the bionis/mechonis have gone to space and explored new worlds, unless by earth they mean the planet with bionis and mechonis and humanity as the homs

At the end of XC, shulk gets asked to create a new world/universe and he does, and the new world they live on is a planet. So XCX could be like a thousand years or so in the future.

This years E3 Nintendo teabagged Sony & Microsoft by itself. Nintendo has proven that they are far from out of the game. They are here and just getting started, more than all guns blazing.

Especially for those who whine and moan about these graphics being not up to par. Do yourself a favor and watch this. This will at least put most of your fears to rest.
I love the art direction of the game, it's very 90s anime-esque. It's like something straight out of Gundam or Cowboy Bebop.
I think Square should relinquish the rights to Xenogears and let Monolith Soft have it. Makes no sense to let Xenogears die just because it has such a massive storyline. Let the man finish his original work, or at least release a book so we can know the ending.
Square Enix wait till Xenoblade is getting more popluar and then release a new Xenogear to make gamers believe it's from the same people. It's their master plan since Final Fantasy is falling apart.
Cell Eater I don't think Square Enix can really do anything with Xenogears, except a remake. Monolith Soft/ Nntendo own the rights to Xeno series (not the ones made by Square or Namco, but any future release.) And making a Xeno games (even if its a new Xenogear), will probably get them into to big trouble

First of all, I was just joking around, and second there is no real "Xeno" series. Square Enix can do as many with the name Xenogear as they want, new game, remake, a book, a movie, anything.
Even Xenoblade and Xenosage are not really one series. We call them as fan "Xeno" series, because the game were made from the same guy, but that's all about it.

But you can make a character that looks exactly like him, get the same voice actor for your character, and choose a class that has the same arts as Shulk. He even says "I'm really feeling it." So I guess if you wanted him in the game you can put him there.

Shulk is the main character of the previous Xenoblade game - in this game your main character is meant to be a self-insert avatar that you create but as mentioned you can give him Shulk's voice actor and make him look like Shulk if you want to.
Wow, I can't believe gamers nowadays care for graphics and power of the console.... This is the true flaw of the gaming industry.... Back then everything was all about how fun things were...
Graphics are very good to push for, but it should never be the main objective. Nowadays, it's not just graphics, but maximum profit as well... Nintendo isn't completely clean, unfortunately, with how they price their ports, and how they never put anything on sale.
No matter how many times I see this trailer, I never stop feeling excited about this game. Keep it comin', Nintendo!

some people actually learn japanese... just like myself... also having watched a lot in japanese makes it much easier to understand, that mostly goes for people who watch animes... and since the japanese voice actors are doing a much better job most of the time, people tend to prefer the original language.
The people here complaining about the graphics on the character models clearly didn't play the previous Xenoblade. The character models in that game looked like they could have fit right in on a PS2 game like Final Fantasy XII (or heck maybe even FFX), but everything else was pretty damn gorgeous by Wii standards (seriously the draw distance alone put some 360 and PS3 games to shame). This looks like it's keeping with the same tradition: make a small sacrifice to character models in order to have gorgeous everything else, especially if they want to keep the framerate smooth.

the soundtrack gives that game an ''shingeki no kyojin'' feeling :D i dig it!
It reminds me of Kill la Kill. I wish the composers from the original game worked on this one instead though. Yoko Shimomura's scores are part of what made the world feel so special and I can't help but feel that this game's track will be mediocre.

Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill show that Sawano can compose with the best of them. I felt Xenoblade had too many composers, and the soundtrack, while epic, felt disjointed. With Sawano composing everything in this game though, it will feel less disjointed and will feel like a complete work altogether.
That soundtrack is sooo Hiroyuki Sawano...I love it.
I think these graphics look amazing. The style and the quality of the characters is good enough for what is needed. The animations are a perfect. Now I can only wait and see if it will be as emotionally catchy and addicting as the first one.
Graphics are fine people!... The game just needs to capture the magic of the previous Xenoblade Chronicles game which by all accounts had worse graphics but still ended up as the best 3D RPG ever made... (yeah, I went there) ;)

The treehouse live demo went way more in-depth about this game and sells it better than this trailer ever could. They didn't do they best job presenting this in the Digital event. Still, my most anticipated game.

Can't stop watching this trailer. Giant mechs, cool characters, and interesting plot, and so much awesome. What more could I ask from a spiritual successor?

I adore Xenoblade and I hope this game is at least a fourth as good as it.
The producer said the game will be five times bigger than Xenoblade.
This is greater than I could have ever imagined it would be.
They actually said because the dolls are 5 times bigger than humans, the world had to be also 5 times bigger to give the game the same feeling. However, they said the game will be even bigger than that. Which means, bigger than 5 times.

The only reason why people are saying that there was a downgrade was because the gameplay lacks the tone that the trailers had. Loud soothing music playing while Mecha fly throughout the skies looking as miles and miles of beautiful life. People were more focused on what was happening than how things looked. Idc about how it looks. I just want the gameplay to be good.
