This was imported to india 2 years after the production ended in 76 thats why i put 78 the documentation of the car says 78

Sorry sir Mercedes-Benz started with this serie from july 1967 till september 1973 i think, and from september 1973 till december 1976 whas the facelift named serie 2. In this serie's exist serie 0.5, july 1967 till october 1969,then serie 1,october 1969 till april 1972,then serie 1.5,april 1972 till september 1973, and from september 1973 till december 1976 serie 2. But nobody see the different's only people who know this serie. All the cars are manual or with automatic gearbox gasoline or diesel on the steering wheel or on the Floor, i think serie 2 only manual and automatic on the Floor. The 4 cilinders engine's gasoline or diesel are w115 models the 6 cilinders are the w114 models, the 240D 3.0 is serie 2 w115 and a 5 cilinder grtz

And the imports which were done in India or other asian countries were mainly those which were not sold in for example: an s class made in Germany in 1985 and not sold for three years so to not sell the vehicle at a discounted rate companies used to send cars to countries like ours and they were sold as the year of import was 1990 and the year of manufacture is 1985 but imported in 1990 so they were considered as a 1990 vehicle . So maybe that's why we have a confusion on the year of the w115
