Hope to get one soon. I am more of a w108 fan but due to the w114 being more available at cheap prices and easier to maintain I will go for one of these. An excellent classic that remains practical as a daily driver.

Great review and great car! My 1970 W114 250 is still purring along after it's carby rebuild. Classic cruiser that feels like you're on a plush lounge chair. Preserve as many of these as you can!

My uncle had the exact car Mercedes Benz W114 250 but in white with red MBTex interior.
    Good video.
The next cars I'd like you to feature are:
    1) The 1965 - 1972 Mercedes Benz W108 280SE (I have one. Mine is a 1971 manual).
    2) The 1954 - 1959 Mercedes Benz W180 220SE.
    3) 1987 - 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera. With 915 or G50 gearbox.
    4) 1986 - 1991 Mercedes Benz C126 560SEC.
    5) 1963 -1971 Mercedes Benz W113 230SL, 250SL or 280SL.
Don't forget to put on your seatbelt!!

I HAD A 230.6 IN THE SAME COLOUR, INTERIOR AND CONDITION. SELLING IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE . I REGRET IT.

Very helpful review, about to buy one of these and surprised at just how many are manual, my gut feel is Auto would suit it better, thanks for reinforcing that view, you just saved me buying a manual without driving it first!

Just bought one. Auto, had to be for me as a luxury car. I guess there are so many manuals because they were very popular as taxis in Europe. Fabulous cars.

I replaced the oil in my manual transmission in my 230e using the correct atf oil and the gear change is now absolutely sublime. Id still prefer an auto though.

If memory serves, the South African-built W115 models had a column gear change... at least on the pre-revised models. The W114 was not available in South Africa until 1973 when the 280E was launched just months before the revised range was introduced. The 250 only became available in South Africa with the W123.

Why do we almost always, measure boot space, by body count😅😅

There’s a similar car near me which has been left standing without moving for years. A 250 coupe model - same colour & K reg as well. I took some photos earlier this year. It looks complete externally and inside - assume the engine, etc is all still there. Such a shame.

Old Mercedes are definitely better in an auto. Just waft along and laugh at all the peasants who have to change gears themselves.
