    The hilarious thing is, people WANTED build diversity and necessity in Destiny.
    Well of Radiance + Divinity + Aeons is a SUPPORT BUILD.
    It's like going "Man, I wish we had something like a Druid to play with to buff the party (or de-buff the enemies)." Then they get it, and they go, "Man, these enemies sure die a lot faster than they used to."

      That's a sad excuse for "support", where you do next to nothing. You know what's supposed to be a support class? Void hunter. Except crowd control is a joke, and tether is outclassed by a SPECIAL TRACE RIFLE with 200 in the mag.

    I think the overall divinity issue isn't about buff everything for us to be insane and badass, it's about the fundamental skill of aiming. A skill that every player casual or elite that rewards them for landing precision shots and thus doing more dmg to an enemy.
    The issue with Div is we are eliminating a core component of gameplay that every player has to overcome to succeed.
    Divinity significantly reduces that aspect of the gameplay AND adding a debuff ontop of it makes it a 100% pick option. Suddenly, tether debuff becomes unnecessary for boss dmg, melting point (when it was around) didn't need to be applied even tho it was 50%. Divinity is just superior in every way due to it's range capabilities and ammo.
    I agree having a weapon be a tool to make parts of the game easier can be good for the more casual player. But not at the cost of making other choices effectively useless in comparison. Now elite players should be hitting more consistent shots, but by nerfing div we hamstring the casual players. An easy crit spot can be a life saver in some high flinch engagements, but I believe removing the debuff opens up the use for other ways to debuff a target encouraging more build diversity. We reign in divinities superiority for high teir players without being a all in one solution for debuffing for easy dmg. But still gives the casual player a means of making aiming easier

      I don't think it's stupid tho. I mean Divinity is literally only net positives. There's no drawbacks for it. it's literally make a giant crit spot impossible to miss AND applying a 40%(?) debuff on top of that. It's dumb. It also wouldn't be as necessary if pve flinch was so stupid and sending your weapon into the sky to the point where certain crit spots are impossible to hit. Totally agree. My main issue with Div is just how absurdly powerful it is for an exotic that very few people have or even want to go through the steps to get. If tractor cannon placed a similar debuff or if there was a more easily accessible debuffing option, I feel like we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Div is just stronger than everything else, including something like tether (which should really be the king of debuffs). Imo, a special exotic that's locked behind a dlc and a quest in the leat enjoyable raid should not be stronger than everything else in the game. I know we all want raid exotics to be OP and awesome, but that's just not a sustainable balancing philosophy. So either nerf Div to be in line with other debuffs or buff all the other debuffs to be as strong as Div. What makes Div exotic should be the crit bubble, not the absurd debuff.

    i think your "buff everything" also included a "have hard mode / contest mode" that a lot of commenters below are ignoring and provides a really good nuance to your perspective. hard/contest mode(s) allow(s) for the coexistence of inclusivity for casuals and challenging content at the top end, and allows for tuning of them separately, much like separately tuning pvp and pve sandboxes to some extent.

      Exactly, I feel as though the change that saltagrepo suggests takes this into account because it takes all perspectives into account. It still has a use for difficult to hit crit bosses or low skill teams however you get a substantial increase to your overall damage when you don’t use it. It becomes much more situational instead of a one of all weapon allowing other utility options to take its place. Overall though I think people just don’t like the idea of anything being nerfed. The majority of the community doesn’t care if the game is brain dead easy at all points which to me is the biggest problem we have in the game currently.

      You nailed it. People want everything handed to them on a silver platter, when the endgame is already extremely easy. MMOs would laugh in your face if you told them to cater their endgame to the most casual people in the playerbase. And they have actually successful endgame, because it's CHALLENGING.

    • @EggyWeggyIII
      @EggyWeggyIII Год назад +1

      @@milzhere yep, at the risk of sounding gatekeepy, not all content should be accessible to every player in the game. If you’re a low skill player, you shouldn’t be able to complete the end game content without extreme difficulty. Even though I’d be excluded, I wouldn’t mind if bungie made more content that even medium experience players were excluded from. Challenging activities force players to improve and give them more content. It’s like a ladder for players to climb where when they begin they start with the easy stuff, then as they improve they can slowly access harder content until they get to the hardest stuff. In D2 we go from doing patrols and strikes to end game immediately because the end game is so similar to the early game stuff in terms of difficulty.

  • @triplecombogaming
    @triplecombogaming Год назад

    The issue I have with the topic is going by challenge mode and other scenarios where players are severely handicapped. In those moments you'll use whatever you can to clear an activity, even if it's hanging back and plucking away with a scout or bow vs other primaries. However, once you're out of that severely handicapped mode, the weapons that were considered must-haves lose their importance by a lot.
    Divinity isn't similar to rally barricade and lunafaction when they removed reloading to where it was a no-brainer to use them regardless of challenge level. There are other options to debuff a target and if the majority of your team can land your crits then the utility offers isn't make or break.
    At most, if we want to make other options relevant, let's buff what it competes with such as tether, and maybe lower its debuff to 25% rather than 30%. But nerfing it to where it's borderline irrelevant and just being a crit spot generator doesn't make sense to me, especially since once challenge mode is over its relevance drops significantly.

    I find this whole thing funny yet really frustrating, sorry but this is a bit of a rant.
    Those "elite" players that are complaining about it seem to forget that the reason Bungie made Divinity in the first place was to have a gun that made it easier to DPS bosses thanks to the bigger crit spot and the debuff it gives to the boss it's being shot at. And don't forget that it's a gun you obtain in a raid(end game content) plus you need to do a quest for it, of course it's going to be OP, and not all of us even have it, yet we sometimes depend on those who have it when we play with an LFG group. In fact, thanks to Divinity I have my only Kings Fall clear(and Touch of Malice), Warpriest was a damn tank.
    What's the next thing this elitists will complain abou? That Wardcliff erases Oryx's daughters in mere seconds? The busted tracking of Truth or Eyes of Tomorrow? Why don't you complain on other things like the linear fusion meta? Because with the exception of using Wardcliff for the daughters, linears are the only viable thing for Kings Fall.
    This goes to the "elite" players that have started this:
    I dont care if the game's too easy for you, you don't even represent a 1% of the playerbase, if you're bored because you don't find a challenge, go play other more challenging things and leave the rest of us alone. I remember you people complaining that Warmind cells made ad clearing too easy, where are they now? It's been over a year since I saw the last player using them, and I've also stopped using them because they're trash now, so thanks for taking that enjoyment out of the game because of your ego...
    End game content it's already difficult for us who either don't have a lot of time to play or that are simply not as skilled, so stop trying to make it even more difficult.

      Thats fine, but the "ease of use" exotic shouldn't also be combined with the absolute best debuff in the game.
      This has nothing to do with making the game harder for you. The game is objectively easier than any MMO in existence. This has to do with sandbox balancing.
