If they had included HDMI out it wouldn’t be able to play the Namco cartridges due to licensing, so it’s a bit of a mixed bag… I’m glad they skipped it here personally, as I already have a VS and would rather have this support all cartridges.
Big thanks for the early look inside the unit. I can hardly wait to get mine. I was hoping it looked a lot more like a repurposed VS board in there, complete with hdmi to the monitor--but that was clearly some unfounded wishful thinking on my part 😅
It honestly looks better than I expected, the little touches like the light up coin slot are nice, and you just about had me sold… no acrylic cover for the control deck though?!? Unless they convincingly address why that’s not an issue here that’s pretty much a dealbreaker unfortunately.
the lack of tv output is sad... but I pre ordered the megaman version with more solo games + I have lot of evercade cartridge so it's still a nice arcade console ^^
Hey Restalgia, how did you remove the control deck? Do you need a small screwdriver to pop those screw hole covers off? Also, does the screen plastic go under the screws?
@@petermarasco1105 yes, pop off the plastic caps, and there is a Phillips head screw to remove on each end. Then it just lifts out nice and easy. Screen plastic goes down about an inch below the screen.
Welcome back to the scene Restalgia, seems like it's been a long time. Since this has the same guts as the Evercade console player, would it be possible to add an HDMI out, or a conversion cable/board to go from it's monitor to an HDMI out? Like when you convert an A1UP cab into a multi-cade and want to connect a regular monitor with HDMI, VGA or Component? Looking forward to seeing you on Super Gameroom Dudes again soon!
Hey bro, big fan & of your channel. Can you please do a video explaining how to properly transfer a video game build such as magnus RC's to a flash drive. Alot of people seem to have trouble with the process of downloading & extracting them to use on the psx classic
Thank you for your honest review. I agree 100% with your pros and cons. I have been saying for a while now that the device looks awesome. However, the price, no carts only way to play the games it comes with is to buy the device since they're built in, no HDMI and small screen for single player.
There are, however many have noted Super SF ll: Turbo is busted. The difficulty stays locked at evil no matter what you do. Hopefully an update will resolve this.
1:00 insert coin.... why did they not put the insert coin button on the insert coin slot? why did they ruin it with making it a powerbutton? i like blaze/evercade but some decisions like this and choosing 40 winks ps1 1 player instead of the n64 40 winks 1-2 player coop version are really sad and bad.
OMG, NO acrylic to protect the control deck art!!!!! Wtf were they thinking in making a arcade Bartop????? Did anyone in HQ tested this out for more then 1hour of intense gameplay 😂🤣🤔
@@Restalgia my mini powerbank with buildin usb c cable with 10000mah and some patafix to stick it on the back are ready, so this is not really a problem, but did it has a screen protector on it? cant find any information about it,, preordered the megaman version but want to protect the screen from fingerprints and scratches
I was tempted when they announced this. But over time my interest has fallen. I have the special edition XP with Capcom games on it, I have a VS, multiple Capcom, Street Fighter and MegaMan collections for other platforms which are always connected to my TV. I just don't think they would get enough use to warrent the cost and space.

@@brandogg no that's not true. I do not work for, nor have I ever worked for evercade. They have reached out to me in the past to ask for suggestions of a couple things, but it was nothing more then a 30 minute conversation.
I feel you'd be not far off in cost of you bought a raspberry Pi, control deck, screen, speakers and materials for a custom housing with light up marque and all the presentation. I understand you technically don't need the arcade cabinet experience, but that's kind of a moot point. The cabinet experience with licenced games is the sell. If you just want the games, they're literally available on countless other devices. If emulation is your pick, just use an android phone. Why even bother with a Pi?
for the price they should be having the hardware up to other games, or include variety of games for playability. either other retro games or cartridge sale. i gather its a Streetfighter themed machine, but having it limited and price. they could have made it a "Figther gamebox" , add in decals for few other games, maybe Capcom or Mortal Kombat or Tekken etc. at least then there is few options on different fighter games. If its a money story.. they could sell individual cartridges with maybe 4 versions of Tekken or 5 versions of Mortal kombat. maybe make extra $50 to $60 per gamepack.
Yeah I think it's all about licensing. I don't see WB and Capcom agreeing to have their big brand titles on the same device by default. They would want exclusivity. Additionally the button layout is different for SF vs MK so I think it would feel less authentic in one way or another. I personally think Street Fighter was the right choice, especially with the alpha series, as thats not been done in the home arcade space yet. That said, I would love to see a MK cartridge.
Good review 👍
Thanks man. Big fan, I appreciate you checking out the video.
Boooooooo leave
Well done.. Great to see some new content! It's a nice little unit for sure. Hope you're doing well brother!
Thanks man, been working on some new stuff!
Have mine ordered and think it looks great
Nice review. A port to play on the TV for multiplayer would have sold me. Still looks cool. Thanks brother!
Thanks for checking it out. I agree, it'd be a great addition for sure.

Great review. Perfectly matches what what I thought too. Looks great, but that price tag should mean a bigger screen, multiplayer, hdmi out even, etc…
Yeah, it’s a shame it doesn’t have some of those features, but I’m still a huge fan of the design.
Good review thanks
Thanks brother. I appreciate you checking it out
No SF2 Hyper Fighting and ability to link two machines together is literally non-preorder for me. Such shame as I would bought two 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah I can’t believe hyper isn’t on it.
Nice Video!
Glad you enjoyed it
I can buy cartridges for it?
Yep! 500+ extra games out there on over 50+ carts
Great review 👏.
Appreciate the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!
Great review bud.
Thanks!

A neo geo one would be fire 🔥
Are you able to turn it on its side and switch to tate mode and play with two controllers?
no tate mode here haha
4:00 RK 3366 or 3326 ? This is confusing.
I misspoke should have said rk3326. I realized during editing so I put the text on screen. Sorry about that!

Does anyone know what brand the sticks/buttons are in the standard edition?
Yeah, I can see that being a deal breaker for some.
I’m just thinking why the hell they didn’t release a mortal kombat edition as well?
But what are the hidden games!?
👀
If they could of run a video out signal through the USB C. That would of been fine.
Yep but you'd need a splitter, since there is no built in battery. To be fair adding one would be a very easy modification
