I wasn't sure which video to leave my comment on because I've watched quite a few. I have to tell you what a difference you've made in my plant based journey. Not only because you are such an inspiration, but there is something about your recipes that really speak to me. Your Cashew Ranch dressing totally changed my life!!! I also love your cheese sauce, the pickled onions, and the Weight loss friendly granola. I LOVE your book! I have many other recipe books but I've used yours more than any others I've gotten. I have finally made the TOTAL commitment to WFPB in the beginning of May after dabbling on and off for about 10 years. I have been a yo-yo dieter for ever and at this point I have 20 more pounds I'd like to lose but honestly I'm just enjoying everyday of eating well and feeling great. I also used your link for the supplements I have been taking just 1 per day and now I'm starting to take 2 and am hoping it makes my hair fuller. I have been following and admire many other WONDERFUL plant based folks on RUclips. What a wonderful community of people. And I am glad I found you. Thank you for your wonderful tasty and simple recipes. Oh ANOTHER game changer for me - you introduced me to Edward & Sons Not-Chicken bouillon cubes. My favorite dinner is a small cut up zucchini, about the same amount of cauliflower, cover it in water, add 1/2 a bouillon cube, boil, and break up a little bit of spaghetti in little pieces or sometimes a little orzo. When it's done it is the most satisfying little soup for me. Sometimes I throw in peas or beans. Delish. Thank you again. 💜
I bought your book today. Thank you so much for working so hard to make this life diet so accessible for those of us who have become exhausted and completely discouraged by the polarizing environment surrounding diet.
Oh! The garden nerd forgot to mention the white flowered bush you asked about. The white version ıs Bridal Wreath Spirea which should grow on your property very well. Here in Australia it's just called Spirea, and grows from around 4' to 8' and it can be planted successfully in pots too. It's a deciduous perennial which originated in Asia. There's a pink version too called 'Triumphans' (Spiraea billardii, grows up to 6') and I think it's planted more successfully in cool to cold regions, so it's not super common around Sydney, unless in pots. Also we have so many native species which are abundant flowering plants here which are planted for our native birds and insects. I think I've seen a double flower pink version in a mountain garden west of Sydney, but I can't remember what that one is called. For flowers have you thought of planting rhododendrons (there are so many species!), camelias and azaleas? They are all well acclimatised to mountain regions, with rhododendrons hailing from Nepal and camelias and azaleas from China. And, have you thought about wisteria? They are super tough vines which are great for covering any ugly spots or you can plant a summer long walk/pergola with wisteria providing shade in summer. They need at least 6-8 hours of sun in summer for abundant flowers and they are tough plants.
Wow! That was spectacular Kiki. I caught you on Rip Esselston's podcast a few days ago, so it's been a special treat this week. Thanks for the trip to the National Park in Utah. All those buttes and mesas were a true delight, which took this nerd back to her schoolgirl geography days with our teacher Mrs Watson. She was always reminding us that Chicago is not at the bottom of Lake Michigan but at the south west corner of Lake Michigan. Being a nerd can hold you in good stead sometimes. These rock formations and colours are spectacular! And, seeing your son driving shows how big he is getting!
Perfect timing! We are planning to hike Moab, and Arches national park, in April 2024. Now after seeing your video, it will help us plan for our trip. We hiked almost every trail in Zion and some in Bryce Canyon-- at least ones that were not closed, last April and wow, the water was plentiful and fast flowing. Next up is hiking Glacier NP in September. I like the road trips we can make from Denver because I can prepare and freeze lots of food for our hikes and dinners. I took one cooler with non refrigerated food like oats, bananas, grapes, apples, and one filled to the brim with all the food I prepared ahead. The wraps we took on our long days of back to back hikes were fantastic. Pre-planning and freezing, then prepping and bagging things worked out well. And when we did eat out, we found veggie options for our meals. We have a desire to see all of the national parks in the U.S. in the next five to 10 years, while we can still move our bodies easily. We are both 62 now. I love this way of eating! Thanks for your scenic video!
Spiraea prunifolia, commonly called bridalwreath spirea an excellent choice for your property, they’re incredibly hardy. They bloom in the spring & give a show of green the rest of the year. Those and lilac combined give a good show of blooms through the spring into summer. There are multiple spirea varieties that grow to different sizes & have different bloom colours. Great choice for the Colorado climate
What a beautiful family you are!!! Adventurous, wholesome, healthy, you are my kind of nerds!!! Lots of love to you all. I always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
I've been wanting to visit Moab and Zion for ages and need to go! Granted, we all just lived vicariously through you via this travelogue, so thank you. Your family is so healthy looking and the raw noodles dinner looked great.
Wow Kiki Thank you for showing us all this beautiful scenery. And sharing your tips and health tips ... my dad always wanted to go to Utah but he got sick from cancer . I want to take my daughter there so much now after seeing these views! Very inspiring video on a whole new level!!
Thanks for your recipes, especially the easy ones 😂.. I just started plant based meals off of your RUclips channel and I’m feeling really good and the pounds are just coming off. I really hope my whole family adopts the lifestyle change like yours did. 👍
What a great trip! Thank you for sharing!! The views are amazing!! I’m in Miami, FL and we don’t have any scenery like this!! I would love the pad Thai recipe.
It is a Bridalwreath Spirea shrub. They will grow on your proprty. They grow her in Edmonton Alberta where it gets -40 C. They only floer in June andcthey make beautiful hedge. Make sure yiu set a scented one. They were used by brides in ancient times in Europe :). Another shurb you would like is Forsythia- it is bright yellow! I hope that helps.
That bush is called bridal wreath spirea. They bloom like that from late May until July. You are very inspiring! I just ordered your new book, can't wait.
What a great trip! Zion is gorgeous! Bought your book a few weeks ago, and while I'm not vegan, it's nice to have a lot of recipe ideas for the days/weeks that I don't eat meat. Pickled some onions and have been eating tostadas quite a bit!
I always wanted to go to Utah and now I am definitely putting this on my list for places to go. The rocks look like Garden of the Gods in Colorado! So beautiful!
What kind of sandwich was that? The one with herbed cream cheese. It looks like it’s dried herbs instead of bread. Great job Kiki, you’re so wonderful.
I have a fear of cliffs and ledges (probably because I'm pretty clumsy). My husband and I did the delicate arch trail. He walked the rim to go under the arch while I sat pretty anxious on the other side. It didn't help that it was really windy the day we did the hike. In our 2 years living in Utah I did a lot of hikes building up my confidence. I wish I had the confidence you and your family have... I'd likely enjoy it even more
Love this video! All the beautiful views and the hikes you guys took and the places you stopped over made it seem like a wonderland. Great litle vacation to get away and breathe!
Thanks Kiki for sharing! Nature is definitely inspiring and beautiful. Being in these parks is as beneficial as Forest Bathing. WFPB for the Earth and All it’s Creatures!!!
You have a lovely family and you look stunning, I wish I could do what you’ve done, turned your life around, but I just can’t seem to maintain it. I’m always so tired and doing things for my family, I never have time to prepare my meals or look after myself. I love watching your videos though, thanks for sharing. 😊
Hi Kiki, thank you so much for sharing, I really enjoyed watching the beautiful road trip that you went on with your family. And I couldn't agree more with you about getting out enjoying nature and your loved ones!👍😊💗
Loved this video! Can’t believe your son is driving 😱 Your skin looks so amazing. I love that tan. Not sure if it’s natural or the makeup you use. Maybe it’s both! Would love an updated makeup routine ☺️
I am highly enjoying your cookbook! Yesterday I made your Vanilla Pudding and it was a family hit. for supper last night I made your Lemon Greek Potatoes and it was another hit with the family. :) Thank you!
Kiki! Thank you for sharing! Utah is gorgeous. Hope one day I get to visit. The bread you used for the sandwiches, is that recipe in your recent recipe book? Thank you again.
Absolutely loved your road trip video. It is wonderful to view how with a small bit of planning, you can easily nourish yourself with healthy food while traveling with a family. Well done Kiki! I also really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Thanks for taking us along 😉🥗
Gorgeous! Love this video so much! By the way, I was so happy to find your book at Chapters Indigo in New Brunswick, Canada! It is a masterpiece. Thank you for all that you do. I am so inspired by you in every way ❤
Stunning images, Kiki. 🙂 I have the first iteration of your cookbook...any chance the new one has some of your raw recipes?? If not, are we going to get to see/create some of them in the future? I, too, am trying to eat more raw lately to help with a sluggish thyroid and would love to see more raw recipes from you. 🥬🥒🫑🍅🥑🥕 Keep up the good work. I've been watching since the beginning and I am so happy for you 🙏
Still can't wear my earthrunners 3 years later. They came kind of screwed up and I should just return them. I thank you SO MUCH for this video! I've only been to Salt Lake City.... I'm enchanted by the canyons!!

My Earthrunners are literally my favorite sandals. They fit my feet like a glove. I get so excited when summer rolls around and I can wear them again.
It is a spirea, and some people call it a white wedding veil spirea
Or another name is bridal wreath!
