Sure it might seem random, but the video certainly doesn't lack Focus.
But it’s also lacking afFORDability with all the mods!
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
ooof
Harumph!
Your sister is becoming more comfortable on camera. I'm glad to see that.
I like the xtera content, you even got your sister to wave.
Why can't you use cloth and fiberglass resin molded to the contours of the interior of the car where you want to cover holes?
Black rims always work, the black combine with everything; look much better imo and i also like your lil' sis happy too.
For the lightest weight and flexibility, patch in with perspex. 2mm should work without cracking. Maybe 2.5 or even 3mm. I used to manage production of the stuff yrs ago. We made hood protectors, weather shields etc. Wholesale from EGR in southern Cali (branch of an Australian company). Or a decent hardware should stock it. Cut it freehand with a cardboard or thick paper template. Then use a heat gun to soften for molding into the concaves. Rough sand and etch prime will give you a paintable surface. Self tapping 8mm steel screws will toughen the bite & give removable access. It will definitely max weight reduction but should retain stiffness without being brittle. Just my 2c worth. But it's the way I'd go. Be a massive time & money saver. =D
Darn! I sure wish you were working on my truck! That Xterra is going from an OK grocery getter to a bada$$ off road beast! And the thing is going to be practically brand new from the ground up! LOVE it!
I was looking for a lift video for my daughters Xterra and found you. Damn what a great video! You lift the whole Xterra just like I was looking to do. Thanks Sarah -n- Tuned
I'm really enjoying the Xterra videos. Who'd have thought that a $1900 truck with 264K miles could be brought back from the edge like you two have. This really changes one's views about how long a vehicle can last.
Comment 1: Why is it necessary to have the Xterra spare tire the same size as the other 4 tires on the road? Think of the existing spare as being just a slightly reduced size spare. There are millions of cars with reduced size spares. There's no better and less obtrusive place for the spare than where it is right now. Spares aren't needed often, but one of those swing out of the way spare tire jobs will be a curse every time someone wants to open the tailgate.
Comment 2: For covering holes in the Focus, where the edges aren't flat and in plane with each other, you may be able to do some panel shaping and flattening with two pieces of stiff steel plate or heavy steel angles and a few big, strong old fashioned C-Clamps. Sorta like squishing curved steel straight with a vise. That may simplify "fitament" some.
Comment 3: You need a workbench to mount your vise on. A strong, heavy workbench that is fastened to the wall, and if necessary to the floor, so it DOES NOT MOVE. Vises securely mounted to benches make marvelous third hands, nut or bolt head holders that don't slide off like wrenches can, anvils for pounding things flat, bending brakes for light steel fabrication, and for a multitude of other uses limited only by your imagination. The vise will also help improve your efficiency and safety when sawing, grinding, filing and drilling.
I've been watching your videos (lots of them) for a few weeks now. The amount of thought, preparation, and attention to detail that go into them is amazing. Keep it up. You're doing great!
You're the best sister ever!
Sarah its easy to tell when the belt sander is about to break through, the metal goes blue because its hot I'm on my 5th belt sander 4 black & decker now I've got a draper 7 years on still going strong awesome channel cheers Lee x
I would recommend using the annular cutter for the spot welds instead of the finger sander, but figure out the thickness of the sheet metal you're cutting through and then tighten an appropriately sized shaft collar over the cutter to use it as a stop. Set the shaft collar from the bottom of the cutter with a pair of calipers and you should be able to reliably cut to the depth of the sheet metal.
When you put the new torsion anchor bolts and nuts back burnish the nut and bolt by running the bolt through the nut with the nut in a vice. Run the bolt back and fourth through the nut. Then apply ARP moly lubricant that they supply with their head stud kits. Run that into the threads and then keep the nut and bolt together as they are now matched and install them on the truck.
Cheap alternative is to put a roof rack and toss the spare tire in it. Get a long enough bicycle u-lock and feed it through the wheel and secure it to the rack. And don't forget a wheel cover otherwise the sun will make it useless when you actually need it. That is unless you want to change the bumpers to add winches, brush bars, and add clearance for approach/depart angles.
New wheels and tires choice on the nissan look the dogs danglies and suit it so well!
Who watches specific content? I watch ALL Sarah content.
Just my thought! :D
Oh Sarah please show some love and scotchbrite the rust off that cage.
I'm glad I came across your channel very informative and entertaining. I'm enjoying your custom restoration of the Xterra. I take a drink every time you say you have OCD. 😆🤣
That’s going to be one of the sweetest looking Xterra’s out there, once you’re all finished...Nice job!! I’m sure Celine(sp?) is thrilled 😁
Hmmm not sure about that. I have wheeled with some great looking Xterras.
That is probably the first time Sarah had a problem seeing over any steering wheel. Floor driving.
So glad you picked up the belt sander!!! Only thing i could say to help try and make it a little easier on you is when you are grinding and getting close to the depth you need to be you will start to see a little circle appear where the spot weld is, meaning you are thru the upper layer and getting into the lower and its time to stop. Also no welding holes with the sander vs the drill.
Very impressed with your persistence and attention to detail, Sarah. Inspirational!
Fellow Veteran Airman. You call everything crazy. You are so silly crazy! 😜 I enjoy watching you fight and struggle with all those vehicles. You like doing things the hard way 😅. keep up the good work 💪!
Nothing says I love you like new wheels and tires!
I’m glad I could help you out , you asked where your rolling chair was and I pointed to it and you found it. 👌
Ah so nice that you have the shop space AND help from your friends...Sarah, life must be so much better having real workspace now!
IDK if you've heard of this RUclipsr but,
BwahhTiffany, is a female car enthusiast that's like a junior Sara! Would love to see a collab of you two someday.
Use the wheel spacers. if for nothing else, for the at-speed stability gain from a wider track width. had a buddy roll a truck from a very minor fishtail in a mildly lifted truck with taller, narrow/OE width tires on OE offset/backspacing. additional scrub (and trimming) is worth keeping the thing upright...
also had the same thing happen with my torsion bar adjuster bolt, glad to see I'm not the only one!
For your cover panels in the rear of the car you can use a bit of CAD (Cardboard Aided Design). Trim a piece of cardboard to the shape you need and add some neat folds to make it fit nicely. Then you use that to cut out the patch from a sheet of sheet steel and do some simple folds to match (over the edge of a bench or something). You can then weld it in, or even use panel bond as it is not structural.
Like the mishmash of subject matter. Fun! Hi Celine.
Love you for your logic... 'this size tire won't fit down there, so we'll have to get a bumper with a swing out tire carrier, which means we'll need a front bumper because...'
@Sarah-n-Tuned to fill in the back interior panels of the Focus I would recommend cutting up thin MDF and tape it on. Then join all the pieces with fibreglass.
Once it's stable and dry you can pull it out and finish the glass job and sand and paint and flock or carpet for a custom panel. Then drill holes and mount with nutserts or crush nuts so they will be well fixed and not fly around inside the vehicle. For super thin and light just make it out of cardboard and fibreglass and it will still be strong. If you want to go full OCD then plan your holes first and glass in some washers as well for added strength
No spacers! Looks dope! Nice tire pick.
Roof mounted spare tire! That would look rad and you won't have to mess with the bumpers for now!
Also, don't forget a bigger off road jack! You can mount that to the roof too!
But then they'd have to integrate some sort of crane system to get them down in a time of need . . .
Don't give Sarah ideas, the Sierra is looking like something from garage 54 already
@@yungkidnf just roll it off the roof rack. It's designed to hold things. Throw the flat in the back until it gets repaired
@@BentoBoxx but how would a couple of girls reach it? Integrated ladder?
There's a correct way for door panels. Take cardboard place it on the door create a mock up stencil and the apply it to sheet metal. Do the same for other door and also rest of interior.
When you apply flat sheet metal use rivets and mig weld too.
That Fein multi tool would have been the bees knees to trim your mud flap. I have one, use it so little that sometimes I forget it's an option.
You are so generous to your sister! Way to go Sarah
So many top less innuendos were missed 😊
Sarah always has great content based on her knowledge of the Industry. Her sassy presentations and subtle humor make her the best car reviewer on RUclips.
Happy Thursday Sarah!!
Killing it as per usual.
I think Celine can get a sponsorship from any of her favorite hair care products...frickin amazing locks she's blessed with.😁
Stay excellent!!
Wheels and tires are slick looking on the exterra
Digging the video while also sad you said goodbye to thr NSX. These videos are giving me ideas for my upcoming Bronco Sport, which should start being built the 15th,, providing it's not delayed again.
SARAH!!!!! (Yes I spit chocolate chip cookie all over my screen when you drove the Focus out of the shop with no seat in it.)
Thanks Sarah for yet another great video.
Now all you need to do is get your sister to join in with the bad jokes. I was waiting for her to say "Bye Selene!" while waving.
Yea !!!! More Xterra video !!!!
Sara, I have to admit it. You are off the chain. Smart, Pretty, and most of very intelligent. Thank you for sharing your ways with us.
The Xterra look sick and nsx is for and Ram TRX if for me keep doing a great job beautiful
The X-Terra 🦖looks mean!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Xterra is looking good, looking forward to the other mods. Looking forward when the Focus
is race ready.
The spot weld drills are great for panels you want to put back on. The sanders are better for removing junk panels that are not going back on.
Love watching you work, not afraid to admit mistakes, i missed your sisters name i know family is important to you, make her car the best. Al
For anyone wondering. Those are BF Goodrich K02 all terrain tires. I like em. I’m on my third set.
I have silver with white wheels too. Perfect combo!
I just bought a 2009 Nissan Xterra. I love it.
I'm really jealous of you're lack of snow and warm weather right now it's currently minus 30 where I am (southern alberta)
Another Albertan freezing their butt off.
No worries about mixing your content. I'm here for you and your jokes, all hail the Queen of OCD. :-)
Sarah just want to than you for your wonderful channel . love it from Australia.
The Xterra Is looking AWESOME! I absolutely LOVE your OCD! So creative! Great video!
Loving the xterra content
just wanna say- love the way the nissan is shaping up- good luck and godspeed in your endeavors
The wheels look great !
That speaker probably played Nickel Back once, get it out! Lol. Great content keep it up!🤙🏼💯
I’m loving the content in your new shop!! It’s awesome that you have come this far!! Hella car reviews now, you have the shop and help when you need it!! Thanks for the great entertaining videos! Oh and I love your shirt!
Nice use of the painters helper tool.
Really enjoyed this video! your a Awsome Sister!
Looks gnarly just sitting on the lift....
Cuando dices MAÑANA sounds great!! Gracias
Those wheels and tires look awesome
Cover the irregular holes with fabric and brush resin over it. Easy peasy.
The wheel and tires are perfect. So glad you kept the white letters inward!
That wheel tire combo looks good. And the dogs are multiplying!!! Things are looking up where you are!
I have a drawer full of those spring taps in my toolbox, they're great!
Sorry, spring punch
Love both builds!
Swing out rear bumper and an aramgedon front bumper will make the X look safari ready
Buy some aftermarket door and trunk seal strips running along the edge Abdullah propellers. you can even use those plastic strips people buy to put on their door to keep from scratching other people's car doors
It worked! I haven’t been following the Focus content...but now I am!
Hi Sarah !!!
The new wheels look great Sarah!
11:03 The moment Sarah realizes once again... this IS a project car LOL
Love those wheels, functional and looks clean, while keeping a useful amount of rubber on the road/trail.
I wish my 2004 Nissan Xterra looked like this!
Your videos are so satisfying to watch. I like your car reviews. They are really informative.
As a Brazilian, the NSX have a special place in my heart.
The OG one yeah I get that but not this current one.
Senna, o maior!
(Don't let me down, Google Translate!)
@@LockieNZ why are you saying dont let me down?
@@jody024 That's true
Excellent choice for tires & wheels, meaty 🥩 sidewalls are great for off road 🏔
Thanks for the great content! Sarah, your caster is probably alittle off, that’s why it only rubs on one side.
True fact: before watching Sarah videos, I did not know what a rolly-chair was. And now - ta-da! - I own one! And my newly wheeled cleaning/waxing/wheel removal, is the closest I will ever get to the actual mechanic things Sarah does on her cars....
The wheel and tire combo are perfect! I love the channel, keep it going girl!
Its great to see a offroad build with reasonable skinny tire
Your fun and funny. Oh and very talented.
31x10.5x15s are typically 30.5" in diameter brand new, so you're right, Sarah.
Xterra looking good.
Your sister running out of camera shot at the start of the video cracked me up. 😁 I don't blame her I feel the same way.
Fantastic work on the Xterra Sarah! Sharp choice with the wheels. 👍
silk stockings... stretch it over the edges of the hole, it will give the perfect shape, then just resin it and let cure, then re inforce...
You can make lightweight interior panels with a plastic sheet called Sintra. It's heat formable so you can mold it pretty easily. Not sure it's worth adding weight though...
Those are the only truck tires I buy. We are soulmates.
Can't go wrong with some classic steelies! Nice choice Sarah😊
Sarah is not going to stop on that day extra until it can in KOH. 😆
Looks really good:) Let sissy enjoy it:) Awesome videos Sarah! And that's for the content:) it's really fun! Your fun!:)
Thanks:(
A 33 will fit. But a tire carrier and front bumper is a good excuse. Shrockworks is probably the best choice. Lead time is kinda crazy. Side not dont forget to take off that rear sway bar.
