I saw this coming with this go cart from day one. You NEVER can "just make it nice", you have to go all the way. "That's what I said". Love you're channel and hair :)
Next week.....adding a turbo and roll cage to the go-kart :) Then she is going to add one of those mufflers that shoots fire out the back :) If you are reading this Sarah, just playing with ya....you do stuff I could never think of doing or knowing how to do. That's why I have been watch for the last 1 1/2 to 2 years.
LOL.....I said as much in the first go-cart video. But, the videos are still great fun to watch. But I would also like to see a fully completed project car.......I guess the MR2 is pretty much completed but don't know if she ever drives it.
This whole site just gets better and better as your natural talent shines through. I’ve said it before Sarah........you are going to achieve things you haven’t even dreamed about, it’s all so exciting for you and great for us as we stick with you, come along for the ride and follow your path to success.
The spacers are a race thing, Sarah..... Depending on track conditions and driving style, turn-in can be dialled in by adjusting track width. The rear is easy, as the axle has really line woodruff keys.... The front is adjusted using those spacers.
Just recently discovered you and your channel...and in a matter of days it has become my favorite channels...I love your enthusiasm and your sense of humor...keep up the great work and I'll keep supporting 💙
Loved the penguin interludes. You spend as much time on your video details as you do your car details. Looking forward to top speed from your kart. And no more slipping clutch.
A few years back I totally stripped and prepped (and painted) a childs' swing / slide set. Had a split level fort with wooden deck floors. Was sooo cool - but what a job. Still have PTSD. Nice work on the go cart. Can't wait to the final look.
My favorite woman (everyone's favorite). Love you Miss Badass. I did the same with a go-kart for my twin boys. I bought it for them when they were 1 years old. Had it twelve years or so.They used to push around on the streets until i finally put a Mac 100 engine on it.
for stripping old paint, I've had great luck with yellow can ez off oven cleaner, and then power wash, also gets rid of grease etc. great job, keep up the good work.
Love the color of the GoCart and love ❤️ your curls can’t wait till you get the focus painted. You are the prettiest car girl on the interweb lol and love the way you talk I could listen to you all day. I also love the attention to detail you give to your projects...
This video has convinced me to move a small sandblasting cab/unit up on my list of stuff to get/build. When I worked at a place that made stuff from tubed alloys, the abrasion cabinet was the best way to get stuff clean and then you could just use the dry/oil free air gun to bring it to 99.9% ready. Final wipe down with whatever just to feel if there's any bits or particles or any funky feeling patches. Then we'd bake the part and final sanity check for anything that was hiding/blending with the moisture before hooking up the electrodes for static powder coating. Then the final bake; if you did everything right, the paint is like IRON - if you messed up anything, the paint will FALL OFF even before it cools.
You kill me everytime. First off, it was the glove. 😂 That colour on the kart and your tattoo, are they the same? Your buddy's face when your glove farted. 🤣 Ahh man. Keep up the great work. 👍🏾
I raced karts as a kid. The spacers are for handling adjustments. Basically, you add spacers to each side of the wheel until you get it to drive the way you want. Typically, the left rear, you want fewer on the inside than the outside (closer to the frame) for round or oval. Then you add or take away to the inside of the other three until you get a feel that is suitable. Tire pressure is another form of adjustment. This is all if you are racing. Just riding set it up as comfortable as possible.
Happy late Saturday Sarah!!! It was cool to see the Focus's progress this AM, can't believe the ground clearance you achieved on that thing, gonna be awesome to see you rippin down some dirt backroads in that thing when it's done. Stay excellent!!
You seems so happy in the new shop. Hope things are going well. You work so hard you deserve to have enough income to do what you want. Looking forward to more!
I'm OCD too, and i hate buying things and realizing that its garbage and I have to (not really, OCD speaking, more like I want to) replace fix everything. But at least in the end I know that its up to MY SPECS and it will go through a wall! Good luck with it and have FUN!!!
The wheel spacers on the front axles adjust the track width. The more understeer (push) the wider you want to go. It also may have a small effect to the ackerman but that's mostly adjusted on the inner tie rod ends by use of multiple hole if applicable. It looks like there's not a lot of adjustment to that kart other than alignment but for beating around the parking lot its a blast. Just a note; its the caster that will allow the chassis to steer properly. It needs to be driven hard through the corner to lift the inner rear tire.
I got my first kart when I was 8. I'm 52 now and own several. Everything from a vintage Dart twin Mac to a Murray Explorer with a modified 420, headlights and stereo. My favorite karts are cheap single seat, light fun karts with around 5" of clearance with live axles. The predators are great. On my lighter kart I have a 212 that has only the carb mods and open header with a cvt running to a 48 tooth sprocket. I weight 260lbs and this kart will spin gravel all day long and tops out around 43mph in a hurry. I drive it all the time. I live in a rural area and have friends miles down the road I often cruise it on the backroads. No need to preach safety to each their own. I walked the high steel for 20 years if I was going to kick it woulda already happened.
This summers project is an old 60's McCulloch F1 race kart i'm going old school with the Briggs 8hp flathead. They are a super fun engine. I will put some big mower tires on it(cause they look sweet) for added clearance as it's an asphalt kart but wont be when i'm done. I've been offered $250 just for it's original MC gas and brake pedals but I refused to sell them.
I'm sorry, after posting I read the other comments and realized the main point of this video was hair. I always had issues with main topics etc in school I guess I still do. LOL.
Quick tip,use rags and carburetor cleaner to remove paint. Just dip the rag,let it sit for 10 minutes, rinse off. For surface/light rust use Landa aluminum wash. Wrap parts in rags ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ let it set then rinse off. Netrualize with simple green. P.s. tofu isn't a food.😂🍻
A great update to the kart series. May I suggest using a wire cup brush on an angle grinder for easier paint removal, it's a lot easier than the drill attachment for most areas. Great edit. Thank you.
@@ericward8010 The funny thing about being a bass player, is that I rarely ever meet other bass players, as it's unusual for there to be another bass player in the band! :-)
The bearings and the alignment of the rear axle are almost as important as engine power..every little bit of friction reducing will help it handle and go faster..you're doing a great job..
Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. I swear if I gave you hub cap, you would build a car around it. How many times has Celine said " I don't care". Now it's a restoration project. Someone once said when you first bought the Go Kart, you bought a frame. Even that changed.
Sarah, my son and I know what you going through on that go kart! We stripped two of them, is should I say started them, but them had them sand blasted and powder coated. Came out great!
Your hair looks very Rock N Roll - cool. Your sister is cute. Can't wait to see you rip on that Go Kart! Bender has had 3 strong beers. Happy Saturday Night everyone!
I was ten years old when my mom and I stopped at a garage sale. A kid buzzed down the street in a go-kart. Mom must have seen the expression in my eyes and quickly tried to put the fire out. "Oh, sure that's fun. But you'd get tired of it really quick." That was the first time mom had lied to me. I would have NEVER gotten tired of that.
Great paint job, and this colour looks so much more vivid then the old one. And one more thing, I guess this frame will be one of the very few parts left from the original go-cart. 😉
your hair looks amazing when its down!!! DAM Woman!!!!! BTW....so hooked on your so called "awkwardness" on camera ,you have a great down to earth attitude,LOVE IT,and the channel!
Should have known that go cart wasn't going to stay the same as when you bought it, lol. I just watched the video of your road trip with Sarah to pick up Teeter Tot, I just cried with laughter.
Hey it's Sarah! Love your hair, you should wear it like that more often. I was thinking sandblasting the frame would be quicker, but if you can't, you can't. Thanks for these little updates on the kart, the X-terra and your sister.

I missed you these past few days. I feel better now. I expected that you'd go whole hog on the kart, that's who you are. Looking forward to the rest of the build as well as Celine's finished Xterra.

Hey Sara I really like what you done with your hair looks GREAT!
It's not just a Go-Cart, It's a Sarah-N-Tuned Go-Cart!
Big Difference!!!
It is beautiful, clean and shiny, like most project cars made by women.
that matches her helmet, dammit!
Sarah with the vintage Alanis Morrisette hair though, I dig it!

Spacers are used for tuning. Front end width changes handling. Wider means it’ll push more. Narrower itll turn in faster. State champ here.
