It’s funny to see lucy who’s so positive and overly idealistic from living in the vaults, try to navigate the real world. It makes the character very endearing.

But the West coast Gulpers in the TV series had a much different origin that will be explained later. In Far Harbor, the player is confronted by many Gulpers of differing sizes.

The dilema of the vaults is as old as the vaults themselves. At the start of the cold war IRL, when this was new, there were small individual vaults, basically fortified basements. and even at that early stage, there was resentment and divisions between neighbors, between those who could afford to make that expansion and those who could not. It's a big old moral question even back in those smaller, individual scenarios.
I'm so glad they did justice to Fallout games by making a great tv series. There was a old channel called Shoddycast who did a Storyteller series which told everything fallout like a show when I was younger. Fully worth watching if you want to see the 'messed up' versions of Fallout world

He is a fallen and corrupt cynical “realist”. Maximus is you and me. He’s a normal person. He has realized that the values of his group are compromised, but he doesn’t have anything to put in its place.

Seeing his panic we can foreshadow those meds are pretty important. Your statement implies at that moment he only thinks about the bounty. The situation is way more complex, simplifying quoting his previous sentence is a mistake.

The series is interesting because it shows the ideological divide between the more "ivory tower" liberal social theory ideas of the Vault Dwellers and the more pragmatic and cutthroat world of the Surface. The Vault meeting on what to do with the raiders was a perfect example between the theory of rehabilitation and corporal punishment.

If you are referring to the identity of the Ghoul: to be fair, that is something everyone was supposed to catch in episode 1.

Maximus’ special skill is getting beat up. He has a lot of practice getting beat up, and that’s how he learned how to get back up.
