It's interesting to see the Contrarian actually afraid. He represents the player's morbid curiosity, the desire to mess with the Narrator and the story with no regards for the consequences - until, of course, there _are_ consequences.
I love this version of the Unknown Beginnings Ending because unlike the ones i seen with a Snarky Princess who casual this princess was genuine in her worry over you and despite being afraid is glad you dont hate and willing to be by her side as you both explore this unknown frontier together as mortal beings
The "snarky" ones seems more genuine. Can't expect her to be like the damsel after everything lol i wouldn't even like the bird guy if i was in her shoes (i like the MC but if i was her it would be obviously different)
That was the first ending I got, and I thought that The Stranger was fixed as a first princess you meet, because it made so much sense (well, until I started my 2nd playthrough). Still my favourite ending.
Did you know that if the Stranger's route is the first iteration of the princess that you bring to the Long Quiet, and then you choose to visit the Shifting Mound's heart, then it'll actually be her multi-faced and armed form that her heart takes as a shape at the end... Though she appears a lot more stable and happy than she did before, all the same, for it, for her completion.
The one issue with that one is that the "Stranger Princess" is still linked to the Shifting Mound. The other Princess - snarky or more Damsel-like - are not.
Ok I honestly think this is the best one out of all the ones I’ve seen it’s beautiful. Throughout all the fight violence and pain they finally get to live in peace and together.
44:46 What really concerns me is that in this version, at the end we can see a diffifent scene where she "pulls you excitedly to the door" where in other ones she rather looks only at the door or this scene is completely blacked out meaning this is the Best ending of all so far But Maybe it isnt that uncommon as i think 😅
The scene's only blacked out if you're not holding hands. Plus Stranger looks at you too, as well as the door; it's only the harsh one that looks at the door.
So it's either, be free and be the end of those undeserving, concepts meant for one world thoughtlessly going after others which likely didn't have to take such a drastic choice, or just go back to the start, well less of a start, more of a beginning, leaving behind the concepts and going back to what they were at the start of it all, a herk, a cabin, and a princess.
it is interesting, the Narrator has stepped into the domain of Gods, created two from a whole and ended up with two Godlike entities who discovered a piece of Humanity within themselves over the course of this ordeal sadly he did not love them, I wonder if the Narrator would have chosen a different path and had loved his creations, would they have perhaps loved him as well, maybe he could have made his piece with that and accept the end of things and the beginning of a New World, instead of just fading away in bitterness and obscurity
or maybe even an expansion update. More paths to follow, more questions to answer. I like the ending where you leave the cabin hand in hand ending there and then without answers though. You're as clueless to what happens next as they are. The FORMER goddess of change, being nervous of what change is to come is just perfect.
It would be more interesting if they add different paths in paths that get the same princess so it just sticks to one. But i don't think there will be a continuation. It's written like one of those "you have to imagine what happens next" endings which also has It's beauty and charms
@@LedecralBut she's not the "former" goddess, she _is_ a goddess. That's who she is and who she always will be. She can put aside an important part of herself, even if she wants to, and neither can we. So, we might as well embrace it 😉
This is so cool, the dialogue is like you as the player are talking to the game developer. Even „witness the end of days“ seems like he meant the start of the covid pandemic, the date of the game being worked on checks out too.
I agree. Although I might kill her just to get one of the awards for doing so in the game, I really would rather have them leave either as gods or as more normal people.
@@Ghostofcalmaity It's certainly not a "stuck in a cabin forever" kind of happy ending. They gave up godhood. They are free to live their lives, and enjoy each other's company without all of the death loops and narrator fueled tragedy. It's a crying shame none of the voices stuck around, though.

Yes, I got that ending a couple of days ago and I was blown away by it! Three-headed princess in the cabin was something else, for sure.

I can’t get over just how small Long Quiet is compared to Apotheosis.
tiny
she is huge

Hmm, almost seems like both of them scarified their godhood to create a new reality but somehow don't know what they made.
The narrator-player relationship remembers me to the Stanley parable
I’m so happy to have seen the ending and everything! Thanks for recording it!
