I don't mind table top reviews, but this was much more helpful. Excellent video sir! I heard on another video that you contact Reate and they'll send you recessed screws for the pocket clip.

I actually did contact Reate about the screw, they said they are making them and when they’re done they will send them out. You just have to pay the shipping fee. Weird that they didn’t just take care of it before they released the knife. 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah I think they figured they were making more of a fidget item than a knife, even though it still functions as a tool. So they went with 3V presumably to handle lots of aggressive friction and impact... although hardness woukd actually handle friction better than toughness does. People are also more likely to drop it, or have the tip accidentally ram into tabletops 😆 Some original ones were in Elmax, I wonder if there were ever issues. I don't think they put a lot of effort into the factory edges of these, so getting your own edge on these might help noticeably.
@@doodysdaggers I messed up my left arm and hand really bad in an accident have very limited use of it now and I don’t trust myself to do any sharpening. Do you know of any reputable knife sharpening services that could handle pocket knives?
@@Mr..Heisenberg I’m sorry to hear about your accident! I do sharpening on a fixed angle system, and I know a few really good freehand sharpeners as well. Do you have an Instagram?
@@doodysdaggers I just heard from another RUclipsr that bought the reate that you can contact the company and they will send you the flat screws for the clip. Not sure if you heard that but had to pass it on !

You couldn't cut thru the rope cuz you dulled it already... Fresh outta the box it'll EAT that rope, my guess... I want one, but the sticker shock is tough...

I gave mine a lower edge bevel and that helped. It's an interesting steel but gets the job done nonetheless.

Yeah I bet you’re exactly right. I’m going to be putting my own edge on it, and lay it back a bit. Maybe do another cut test video with a new edge!

got the double edge reate exo-m mine came dull ;( have 3 of the full size reate exos all those came reallyy sharp. only thing I was disappointed with.

Maybe it would have, but the test is go see if it can cut the rope after it’s already gone through the cardboard and leather 🤠
