Just like the one goon in B:TAS that walks into a room, sees Batman snooping around, locks eyes with him, turns *right* around and leaves, saying he didn't see anything.
I honestly tried when I played that part, but the game wouldn't let me progress until they were all dispatched unfortunately. And, since it was a tutorial section, I couldn't just leave the area like with other encounters.
I love that their behaviour changes if you wait long enough, but it would be hilarious if they just lost their nerve and ran away if you stare at them long enough.

The arkham thug dialogue is unmatched and doing those flashbacks was super cool to add. R.i.p Kevin Conroy you true legend, thank you for the memories!
When I first saw this conversation from to start to finish it made me think this thug went through so much trouble with Batman but also made it sound like the smartest thug since he seems to know all of Batman’s tactics ( the smoke bomb before we even see it in action, stringing you up from the ceiling, breaking people’s heads, knowing your not safe when 4 guys are pointing guns at him ) definitely the smartest thug in the game
Well, he's been around since the asylum at least. Sounds like the cocky guy is relatively new to the club. Personally, I am 99% certain every single thug you encounter that charges at you willy nilly is either new in town or has had at most 1-2 encounters with him and were certain that they were off-guard. Because everytime we encounter someone that has multiple encounters, or have been around long enough to see what Batman does to their fellow goons, they will step back and hesitate.
My guess is most thugs Batman and the family beat up don't remember what they were doing last night or how they got in the hospital. Only some will be cursed to not lose their memory after blacking out this is one of those guys and the cocky one was a sniper in the first game.💀
@@Predated2 goons are probably different in every game since you break their bones, twist their limbs and crack their skulls in irreparable ways, they probably lose their henchmen job after you're done with them. But Gotham city is fucked up so there's always more homeless people to hire from the streets

The thugs' dialogue in all the Arkham games is great, I always enjoyed listening to their conversations from afar and they'd say all sorts of funny shit. I remember a conversation between two thugs in Arkham Knight wondering who bankrolls Batman because all his gear must be crazy expensive, and one jokes that maybe Bruce Wayne pays for his stuff and they both crack up about it because they think it's absurd for Wayne to be connected to Batman. Or another one where two Penguin henchmen are talking about how one of them used to be a Joker henchman and then they realize that they had actually fought each other once on some turf scuffle between Joker and Penguin.
Rest in Peace Kevin Conroy, thank you for making my childhood so amazing with your voice acting in these games and the cartoons. You are vengeance, you are the night, you are Batman. RIP 🦇💔
Missed this news, the world suffered a great loss last month for certain. Though the man may be gone, I am certain the legend will never die. Rest in peace Mr. Conroy, you shall be dearly missed.
This made me think of the first season of Titans where Robin approaches the criminals in the alley and they instantly ignore him and start looking up saying oh crap where’s Batman. And Robin is standing there looking like WTH.
Such a job well done by Rocksteady. The fact that there are so many nuanced and relatively realistic outcomes just within a scripted scene is amazing. Sad that Gotham Knights couldn't be something remotely close to this.
@@Jokie155Rocksteady didn’t create batman characters and for the most part rocksteady were faithful to the comic. Batwoman has our own dlc in arkham knight and because catwoman is using her sexuality that don’t make her weak.

The banter, the tension, the one guy who clearly wants no part of the inevitable ass whooping that's to come. RIP Kevin, life really isn't fair.

That kinda happens later in the GCPD building with Penguin's thugs. After taking out all but one, the Last guy actually throws down his gun and surrenders.
"I saw him fight ten guys back at the Asylum!" *Flashback to inmate ragdolling and clipping into a sign* I'd be scared too if I saw Batman do that to someone.
I see hostile npcs, spend 20 mins setting up elaborate trap. Swoop in. Npc: "so anyways I heard that Catwoman, Harley and Ivy were..." Batman kick. Pause, load saved game.
The Arkham series (at least City, Origins, and Knight) already has great dialogue like this. "What the hell are you doing? You don't goad the Batman. 'Oh hi Batman, I'm sure you'd love to break in here and smash our faces', yeah he would. And you just gave him another reason to do it."
I love how the game developers added in these thugs arguing amongst each other when they easily could have had the classic taunt lines that you'd always hear! I actually never heard these kinds of interactions before (probably like 80% of others too) because I am more concerned with the 'saving' part. Nice flashbacks, giving a real sense of depth to the story his telling (I half expected "Requiem with a dream" to start playing)!
(Insert arkham games have incredible detail cliche here)…But seriously they really did do a good job of making that scene feel intense. I always thought those guards would kill you on the spot if you waited more than just a couple seconds. And I’ve played through these games like 12 times lol, not even once did I dare to stand still that long. Rest in peace Kevin, you were always my idol.

The funniest part about this sequence to me was how the thug describes how Batman would use smoke to vanish and then take them out, they don't listen, and the game makes you do exactly that
It would've been hillarious if you stay idle for the part where the one thug says Batman'll throw a smokebomb, smash a thug's face in, and string the talking thug up by his feet Batman were to speak up with something like "He's right you know," "I will," or "Good idea."
Reminds me of the iron man 3 conversation with the hired thug running after iron man escaped their trap and him saying he doesn't even like working for the mandalorian and everyone there is so weird.

It would've been hillarious if you stay idle for the part where the one thug says Batman'll throw a smokebomb, smash a thug's face in, and string the talking thug up by his feet Batman were to speak up with something like "He's right you know," "I will," or "Good idea."
Reminds me of the iron man 3 conversation with the hired thug running after iron man escaped their trap and him saying he doesn't even like working for the mandalorian and everyone there is so weird.
