About the silver... Most people ignore the PDA, it's really useful for helping you find resources and leading you to the next steps or areas. yeah reading can be annoying for some people but the PDA helps you save a lot of time and frustration and some of the entries can be read to you while you go around doing stuff. Pro tip: lots of clues in your PDA

if I remember correctly the reason sam died wasn't actually an accident by her trying to blow the frozen creature zone up but murder from Alterra cause she wanted to stop them from using the virus.
Little late but there's a PDA on that frozen leviathan cave that explains that her body was found in such a state that it seems she had a fall trying to get out of the collapsing cave she blew up. Alterra merely didn't tell Robin that she did it because of that (mostly cuz no one aside from Marguerite and the remaining workers at Outpost Zero knew she was paranoid about that)

Basically it's when very salt brine is expelled from freezing sea water, creating a flow of highly saline water with a lower freezing point than the rest of the sea water around it. As this brine sinks, it freezes the sea water around it, creating a descending tube of ice that is filled with the flowing brine. (sea life can get caught in the path of this sinking brine, and be frozen along with the sea water)

As a sorta beta tester for this back in early access, the final release still gives me a sorta bittersweet feeling of what the game's story was supposed to be like and how the story felt completely rushed when they decided to completely rewrite it at the last second before release

I'm so glad you played Below Zero too! 🥰 A little tip for next time you end up playing anything from this franchise - bladderfish and silicon rubber make an air bladder, which is SUPER helpful in the beginning when you have limited oxygen! Plus, it's fun to be jettisoned out of the water at high speed and diving back in lol
You have to get behind or to the side of them and grab their fur with the pengling claw, basically tearing off a clump of it. For some reason, the big snowbeast isn't bothered by this and doesn't immediately trash the little robot.
The reason parts of the story don't make sense is because they changed writers midway through development. The original writer left due to creative differences... I think with the other staff. The story is heavily criticized in this game.
The story is completely different to the early access game story. In early access Sam lives and works on an orbiting base in space above the planet and sends you alterra stuff sometimes. You, Robin, are a scientist researching alien communication. You find the sanctuary and Al-An and then it’s your work to build the body. There is also a deeper plot into alterra, because Sam gets in fights with her boss due to your doings on the planet and so on. So the story changed a lot but the base is the same. I recommend watching early access gameplay footage.
