  • We wanted to provide some privacy to our patio doors and window film was an obvious choice, so here is our experience with this particular product. This product is Silver Reflective Window Film which provides both solar and privacy tint, during the day the glass has a mirror-like finish and providing the light inside does not equal that of outside e.g. night time then this is what you get. It's easy to apply but requires the right methods and tools e.g. very clean windows etc.
    We are not window film applicator experts, feel free to comment etc.
    You can buy this film from Amazon here:

    Finally, the man that can, using the privacy film I have just bought, and after watching so many vid's to do it right, I do put the 'sticky' side onto the window, yes? Some have the sticky side facing them, some like you. I do hope you reply to me, as I want this up asap. Many thanks

    Great video gents, thank you.
    I've did what you've recommended with the exact same mirror film from AWF myself but I've got to say I'm disappointed with the transparency. Even though it's a mirror finish you can still easily items inside the room in daylight especially aluminium step ladders. At night, you can still see in like plain glass I'm going to have to hang a blind inside for privacy.

    If its dark outside and the lights are on in the room that has the window film can you see outside or just a reflection? Noticed that i can only see outside at night when I put the lights off. Is this normal?

    Hey, can I check, at night is it reflective inside? As in, do you see the mirror finish inside and it's transparent outside.

    • @DanielJohnHowTo
      @DanielJohnHowTo  4 года назад +4

      In the day it's a mirror finish on the outside and you can see through to the outside from the inside. But at night or when the light is more than outside it becomes a mirror finish on the inside and you can see in a little bit from the outside. We use this stuff with blinds as well, hope that helps.

      If the light inside is brighter than outside e.g. night time then you can see from the outside to the inside although it's not 100% clear due to the film. So basically this film will give you privacy in the day and also keep the suns heat out but you also should consider keeping the lights off or having blinds/curtains at night.

    It is a shame that you did not film at night time and shown the difference between the two. However, you have been ripped off majorly on £67 you can buy this stuff for £20 or less on Amazon. However, yes it is great for the day time, but you will still need something during the night time to prevent people looking in, but I might invest into some of this, as my place as soon as 4:30pm comes in the Summer then it is like an oven and uncomfortable to sit at my computer. It also limits the locations where you can put the furniture as there is just too much glare.
