Congratulations on your new camera. I’m very happy with mine and bought it new when it came out. I will say though that the A7CR is a great light travel camera so I own both ( plus some other camera bodies ). I don’t like taking the risk of working with only one body in key situations. They compliment each other in my opinion but if you can only afford one the A7RV is the best one to own. Enjoy.
I have been shooting that A7RV for almost a year now. I actually really love everything about it. Wondering why you don't just shoot mechanical? Anyway, I'm not seriously considering moving to the Z8 because of the 6x higher shutter speeds (I find that 8000 is not fast enough) combined with the excellent video (as my new main). I'm still invested in Sony (have the ZV-E1 & A7Cii - 6 GM lenses). I plan on adapting the Sony glass to Nikon. TBH, I think a Z8 or Z9 or EOS R3 might be better for you because of the lack of mechanical shutter. IMO, the Z8 is the best value of the 3.
Yes, the photoshoot I did, which will be uploaded here soon with the Sony a7RV is all using Mechanical Shutter. Thank you very much for your comment!! I do regret selling the Z9 to my good friend, local sports photographer here on Guam. My friend has the R3 I may ask him to look at it. I always loved having the dual stacked black out free shutters :) I will look into the Z8 again, its just kinda big, but we will see, Nikon fan boy at heart, but did start with Canon back in 2009 around there.
Happy Christmas... 🎉... Thanks again for sending the phaseone camera bracket... really useful...😊
Hahahha yes no problem!! you are welcome, Merry Christmas!! :)

The screen is truly the best! I am selling my a7iv to get this
I gotta admit, Sony finally caught up with the nice screens from Nikon and Canon!
