Just did this yesterday. Thanks btw for the video. It seriously helped and otherwise would have paid the $129 for the service. Took me all of 10 minutes to do it.
This is a breeze compared to my old I6 Mercedes serpentine belt. Also looks like some decent room to work in too. Can't wait to get my LS 430 this year!
@LS4ever30 Thanks. I believe the Timing Belt change is beyond my skill level so I had a professional mechanic do that for me about a year ago. I may do a brief video on what parts I ordered for the TB and Water Pump.
Thanks... I try to make it short and sweet. I may have another video soon for the LS 430 brake change (I believe it may be similar to the SC 430). Have a great 2013. -FM
@Jose Delarosa Thanks. Yes it is the instrumental of that song by the Four Tops & The Supremes with my alter ego DJ FM (formerly DJ GG) doing some basic scrathin' ruclips.net/video/wU2LK8PwZ9I/видео.html .
Great vid I changed my belt! Now the belt slips to the edge tensioner causing it to rip. I changed it again still slips to the front when engine is cranked. What could that be
Thanks for the video 👍 Just curious why you didn't replace the tensioner and idler pulley when you replaced this belt and how it performed after the belt change. It's usually suggested to change at least the tensioner pullies when doing a serpintine belt change but with it being a Lexus (Toyota) maybe they hold up better than others.
I have the same car/year, when I start the car after a long(4-5hrs) stay, theres a squeaking/squealing noise but not loud, the when I drive 2-4miles the noise disappears. Do you know if its because of the belt shown in the video? If so I will change it myself, by the way great channel with great content! Keep up the good work! Thanks in advance!
Playpon How old is the belt? If its been on there for 5 years or more or done 62,000 miles or more then its time to to change it anyways. If not then pour some water on to the belt while its running and if the squeaking stops then the belt is stuffed.
Fixit 88 It is there for more than 10 years! I want to change it anyway. However when I went to autozone to buy one, they have "6PK2250" and they said thats what came up for 01 ls430. But the video features "6PK2240". What is the difference?
Playpon Oh wow, yea defiantly get it changed then. Surprised it hasn't snapped off. Ok the difference between 6PK2240 and 6PK2250 is only the length of the belt. The "6"= Ripples on the belt. There should be six of them. I think "PK" is just the style of belt. 2240= 2240mm in (metric) length. So 2250mm is 10mm longer then 2240mm. So you can Polly use either and be fine. But if the 2240 is correct for the car then I would go for that one. hope this helps
Ed DeBolt I have an LS400, they're about the same, I'd change at about 85K miles to be on the safe side. I recommend Gates for the water pump & timing kit, good luck!
The rec. for the 400 is 90K but the belts I've seen with that many miles still look really good. I'll change mine again closer to another 100K. Great cars!
Thanks for the vid it’s still helping 13 years later and gives me a great point of reference

@@gabegarcia7779 I've since sold that car, but it worked perfectly.

I have Lexus Ls 430 in Brazil.
Thank you for all of your videos. They are short, informative, and money saving for DIY. If you have any video for Lexus SC 430 please post.
I would find Lexus SC 430 videos helpful as well and would subscribe!

What is the main uses of power ect snow ? In RX 300
What is the size of the nut on the tensioner?
@funkymechanic can u please tell me where i can order this alternator from for that price!
Is there a way how we can tighten or loosen the belt?
The tensioner tightens the belt to spec once you remove the socket wrench, did you watch the video?
@@FunkyMechanic u were suppose to keep the bolt loose the whole time?

What size socket did you use? Never changed a belt....this is my first time doing anything car related lol
thanks you make it look so easy. I will try it
Goste desse vídeo! Trocarei do meu Lexus.
Can you do a timing belt replacement for this engine. Thanks
Thanks for putting these videos up. I have LS430 with 55k miles. Was wondering when you think the timing belts need to be changed on these? Any rec's?
