@AutoAuctionRebuilds Mike & randy are too opposite people. Mike always has a good attitude & cheerful. It's a pleasure to watch mike's videos. Mike does not mind doing hard labor. I never see Randy follow through with any project. You never know what kind of mood Randy's going to be in. He's always complaining about something.
As a fellow Lexus owning Mike I admire your bravery and skill to tackle a project like this. I always look forward to watching your videos when my toddler son takes his naps. It’s a real treat for me!
Timing belts on interference engines are a scary proposition. Your step by step approach is the right way to do them. Nice job! You just added 100K to the life expectancy of the engine!
Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. Changing the timing belt on the Lexus LS 430. Good luck on getting the timing belt changed without hurting yourself.
Interesting thing is that in a Mercedes there is no timing belt lol they us a chain which eliminates taking half the car apart to change a belt that should have been a metal chain to begin with.
Hi Mike I been watching your videos from the beginning and all I can say is in everything you been doing in each video your confidence has got better .your really good considering I been a Chrysler jeep ram tech for 30 years you. Are so good at wiring I consider you a technician not a mechanic you. Fix and solve electrical problem love the work your doing and the videos are so awesome thanks for the videos I enjoy them all Have a very good week my friend take care 😊oh just one thing it’s a good rule off thumb to replace the crank shaft seal every time it would be a shame to have that one car that leaves oil maybe you will consider it
What a nice car and relatively easy to work on compared to a German product. I love these cars so much. What a perfect 'how to' on how to change the timing belt on these engines. Thank you so much.🥰 Greetings from Holland.
Good Job 👍 Mike She Sounds Wonderful 👍😊 I definitely hope you let the Truthful One Check this one out Lol 🤣 I'm sure Momma Monkey 🐒 Wrench will enjoy Riding in it Like a Queen 👑
*Mike replaces the timing belt and starts it for the first time* Me: Oh that sounds great! Mike, 2 seconds later: Hey, that sounds great! You and Randy keep me inspired to work on my own project :D
Great work Mike as always man don’t seem to see many Lexus around anymore for some reason man!!thanks for the content once again man doing a great job on these cars buddy!👌👍👌
M Dub .. u are absolutely the best .. I enjoy your repairs .. u take in some of the most intimidating jobs .. and absolutely nail it keep up the magnificent work A1 💯
Well done, Mike. I’ve wanted an LS 430 or LS 400 for a long time, but I love my Gen 2 Prius and my 93 40th Anniversary Corvette too much to get a 3rd car ❤
Great job. A hard one. I sent a Dodge to a dealer for a timing belt change. The car was there for half a month. It was my mom's car and she complained about a lack of power after she got it back. I checked the belt and it was a tooth off from the dealer. I reset the belt and it was fine. So even though it had been done it may have been possible that it was off but in these days the computer might have tattled. They're nice cars. The rear doors esp are like bank vault doors.
Your amazing in your back yard garage Mike - thx for sharing - fantastic work you do! Love the Lexus - wishing you lots of luck with the newest in the fleet -
I would like to take you done soo well Mike .. that's not for the faint hearted on that Lexus jeez ...hope that silicon seal holds up I would be worrying about that myself even though it's factory ... well done garage would charge a fortune ... love it it!!@
G'evening Mike & Great job my friend 🤠 . If you're still looking for a reliable tow rig I can highly recommend an 01' - 04' Envoy or Trailblazer w/ the 4.2L inline 6 Vortec. When my wife and I moved to Florida we drove 2600 miles in my 02' envoy who won the single axle enclosed trailer w/ an 800 lb motorcycle & a bunch of other stuff in it at 90+ mph w/o issue. It turns out the envoy was designed to tow 6800 lb 🤓 .
I was going to say Lexus’s and Toyota timing belts I’ve gone 350-400k miles on at least 6 of my Toyotas and never had the timing belts changed. They’re not known to be a issue at all to worry about really
What do you charge to do a timing belt on a GM 3.4? I need 2 done and you seem to be an expert here! Amazing work on this Lexus!
he did good on the olds
Hahaha.
Give MRM the VW Golf Cabriolet in exchange for a few cambelts done in the cars from your inventory.
Randy ur Kool when are you going to finish the cleaning of the geo

Some of the Lexus cars are just as nice as MB's, and certainly more reliable and less headaches.
This one should be good for a long time now.
at last Lexus , it's much rewarding to revive a Lexus
Timing belts on interference engines are a scary proposition. Your step by step approach is the right way to do them. Nice job! You just added 100K to the life expectancy of the engine!
Gotta love Mike’s enthusiasm! Can do attitude is why I return to watch his videos. Good work Mike!
Still to this day the LS430 is in my opinion the best looking car that Lexus has made to date
I think truthful tom might like this car hopefully 😂
I wish Tom could take some of these politicians to task with his non BS straight talking.
Nice work Mike!
Kinda ridiculous that someone did that belt and didn’t note it somewhere under the hood. 🫤
They did, he read it off the label, was last done at 99K miles, it now has 220 K.
One of the few channels I truly love. Thank you Mike. You are a lot of fun.
Good job Mike. You have a peace of mind knowing that it's changed.
Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. Changing the timing belt on the Lexus LS 430. Good luck on getting the timing belt changed without hurting yourself.
Brilliant work Mike! She sounds silky smooth.
More Lexus content please!! Love this! Needs some OEM wheels, headlight polish, more
Cosmetic stuff
Yes I’d like to see OEM wheels as well.
awwww ducky & doggy wanna be youtube stars too
I know you did a good job on your car , Mike
this channel is like a variety show. You got animals, cars, and mom and Tom too . All you need now is dancing girls and a DJ....
Dancing girls? Great idea! I’ll see what I can do…
@@MonkeyWrenchMike how about some bleachers in the backyard for an audience? and a applause sign. I'm telling you CBS would pick your show up
After watching your video Mike, I am now an expert too 😂.
At least it's rear wheel drive. So much easier to work with than front wheel drive.
Benzo loves you Mike!
With those good sounds in the back ground going too!! Nice work Mike!!
Great job Mike .. you really belted that one out of the park so to speak
Awesome show my friend. 😊
Change all those parts. Use the Aisin brand or oem brand as much as possible. This should be a fun weekend job.
Interesting thing is that in a Mercedes there is no timing belt lol they us a chain which eliminates taking half the car apart to change a belt that should have been a metal chain to begin with.
Yeah, but you have to watch those timing chain guides.

Great work Mike as always man don’t seem to see many Lexus around anymore for some reason man!!thanks for the content once again man doing a great job on these cars buddy!👌👍👌
hey Mike you have become a expert on timing belts love your job
I'm glad that Toyota went to using timing chain instead of a belt in 2006. However, my 2012 Camry is an "engine out" job to replace the timing chain.
Engine Out= big money for the repairs shop; which is the entire reason for this stupidity
They still used belt in 2006 for LS, ES, LX, GX, and some others. GS went to chain in 06, LS and ES went to chain in 07
Great car! I have been looking for a good example! Love the video.
Awesome video Mike..love it
You got a very nice deal on a very nice LS 430. I hope that you hold on to it. It is better than a Mercedes.

Nice work Mr. Monkey Wrench. I have a GX 470 that I need to do a timing belt on and you just gave me the motivation to get to it. Thank you sir.

If you spin it with the starter it’d be faster! lol

Preventive maintenance I guess at least it’s now done tho so one less thing to worry about even tho I don’t worry about it on these brands
Great vid but we want to hear Trustworthy Jack make fun of you. He was hilarious.
Polish the headlights on your next video with valve cover gaskets.
Why would he want to polish the headlights with valve cover gaskets?
I seriously want to talk with you if you want to sell this car
Nice!
@ 4:10 i hear you jamming out lol
I did my LS last summer and it was a little nerve racking. Little of a gig saw puzzle
Nice job Mike 😂😂😅😅
hope the water did not go into the oil pan
I say that the car deserves to be tottally fixed body and mechanically
Good Toyota mechanical quality in a Lexus platform from early 2000s .
What have changed so far? Did you change alternator, starter, MAF Sensor, and fuel pump?
