Get your daughter some help😢
Don't forget the daughter's friend who was locked on the bathroom with her 😜
Instead they got her a jackhammer....like what??
No, the whole family needs help not just the daughter❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢.
👊👊👊👊👊👊 Solved!!
@@AmyLeeAngelLove are you the daughter??
Ma’am if your daughter has a “medical issue” that you don’t want to talk about where she’s being violent Loud and disrespectful you still should let the landlord know what she is in for !!
most tenants dont want their landlord knowing everything about their life , so why should the defendants be any different .
Yeah just to let you know I have a daughter who is in a destructive period of her life, just to let you know. Yeah you won't have a house or apt to rent ! Lol defendant needs to buy her OWN home for the daughter to tear up
She doesn't want to talk about it, because she's the cause of it. They're horrible parents and they Did not raise their daughter right from a child
She doesn't have disclose that. ADA
@@user-yw7ez6gb8mWhat makes you think that she is the cause of her daughter behavior? I’m not getting that from them. Some behaviors are caused by mental issues. That's like saying that a mother is responsible for the innate behaviors of a child who's autistic.
"We were pressured to get out of there." Yeah! Before even more damage is done.
if they could get section 8 then that would help but they are the wrong color to get it . the system is racist against impoverished whites .
A YEAR AND HALF AND YOU MADE THIS MUCH DAMAGE....YUCK!!!!
And called it normal wear & tare. 😂😂😂😂
That's what I thought. I've lived I my apt 6 years and my walls do not look like that. The mom is just as much of the problem.
I lived in my last place 4 yrs. Recieved full deposit back.
These guys must be filthy.
I concur....18 months? Nasty!!!!
thats more likely because u had an honest landlord rather than handing it back over as clean as when u got it . too many landlords still wont return deposit money even if they get the place back in great condition .
Lived in a rental for 3 years, husband and a toddler got all my deposit. Lived 2 years in another rental got all my deposit. Lived in a rental for 7 years got all my deposit. I had friends that owned homes and they wanted us to move into their homes. All of my landlords came to shake my hand because it was the first time after a tenant had moved out and they didn't have to do anything, nit even behind the stove, refrigerator etc. All drawers, cabinets, closets bathrooms, carpets, windows, were left in a better condition than we got it from them.
The movers also made comments that we were their only customers that they didn't have dirt under any piece of furniture. They moved us twice. 😅
@@joy9073 i assume u did not ever live in a large major US city where deposits are high and landlords are cheap and greedy .
All I can say is, “those defendants and their daughter… OH MY WORD!!!” 😱
mental illness is real .
When Judge Milian asked the defendant if the daughter is still living with her, she seemed a little surprised. The judge was probably hinting that she should be in an inpatient facility, because she needs to be. That girl is gonna destroy every property they live in
She should have taken these trashy people to judge Judy I promise you judge Judy would have given her justice!!!!!!!
She got justice. Shes greedy
Judge Judy is the biggest shithead sitting on a bench.
Sounds like the daughter needs serious meds.
Thats not normal wear & tear in a 1 1/2.. seems like her daughter needs some intense help. This mother needs to take action to help her family.
They nasty and to laugh about it is horrible…
$470 for all that damage? They let that daughter run amuck and then shrug their shoulders like that's normal teenage behavior. This goes beyond 'normal wear and tear', unless you've rented it to a pack of wolves.
Well it’s wasn’t just 470 dollars, it was also 1900 security deposit, so plus that she got over 2400 dollars for putting all the damage, and that carpet looked so old it was a disgrace before they moved in.
Ummm the carpet is the least of their troubles....look at how horrible they left that house!@sandrawestley4193
@@sandrawestley4193 If it was that bad, why would you move in? Cases like this remind me of why I never pursued owning rental property. People move in, trash the place and you need to spend thousands of dollars repairing or replacing what they tore up.
@@nicklebaby Some people live like animals. The daughter is allowed to act out and destroy other people's property, and these parents (and I use that term loosely) pass it off as normal wear and tear and do nothing to stop her.
@@user-rm1br3sw7xso if someone is foolish enough to move into a dump they have to pay to repair it as if it was immaculate beforehand? Lmao. No.
The carpet needed replaced before they got there so nothing they did to the carpet is why it needed replaced since it already needed it.
Have lived in my home for 15 years. My house doesn't look like that. So gross!!!!
Yep I've been in mine for 12 and it still looks great
Sounds like a crazed teenager who is spoiled and gets away with really bad behavior. Aweful. She sounds dangerous
Not all children who act out are spoiled. Some of them have real medical issues that need treatment
Hardly spoiled. Sounds like mental health issues
It’s sad bc you can tell how the parents talk that they’re scared of that daughter. She needs admittance
I think we can all agree the daughter needs help, but I would like to investigate that household and make sure there is nothing else going on that would make her act out like that. There’s always a reason why teens act out like that, there’s some underlying issues.
Good luck. My youngest daughter is acting up.
something traumatic probably happened to her when she was a little girl so by the time she was a teen the damage was already done so an investigation at the time of this case would have likely turned up nothing because the root cause was something that happened when she was maybe like six or seven years old . its so sad and heartbreaking that small children are at risk in this world .
As a parent myself, if my child turns out poorly...I am to blame. And if they turn out well...I get the credit. Parents are responsible for their F@#&ed up children. But it hurts to admit you f@#&ed them up. Take responsibility people.
What if they have autism or adhd or other issues.@@tiamullen
If it's a behavior problem or even a psychological issue they definitely should have had her in intense therapy counseling on meds whatever a long time ago @@tiamullen
Off topic, but wow, the plaintiff's makeup colors are absolutely stunning!
Sooooo glad I sold my last house instead of renting. I'd be on the news for acting a fool!!
That carpet could NOT be cleaned and made nice for a new tenant. It had to be replaced. good grief. The judge is wrong
Correct, but the carpet wasn’t in good condition to begin with. That’s why she couldn’t be reimbursed for the cost of the new floors. It’s unfortunate but a tough reality, the landlord rented it out in the condition she bought it in. If she spent a bit more $ before to fix it up she could’ve walked away with more.
Your right , plus the plaintiff was right about fake laminate wood being cheaper than carpet.
Weed smell doesn't go away...users nostrils may not notice it anymore
It cant be cleaned but that doesn’t mean they get brand new laminate floor or even new carpet. They get
whatever the old carpet was worth when they turned it over and those before pictures looked pretty old and warn.
Landlord got greedy and wanted far more than she was owed.
The mom doesn’t seem too bright. Her daughter caused all of that damage and didn’t even try to fix it knowing she clearly has a mental problem.
She might simply have been exhausted, and couldn’t do another thing.
@@karenneill9109 there’s ways around that though. If she needed help she could’ve asked, paid someone to clean up or atleast told them about the damage and how she left the place.
@@inukoko2012 Yeah, she decided to simply forego her deposit- she never asked for it back. I guess she thought that would cover it.
The male defendant's haircut and demeanor is driving me crazy lol
They need to get the daughter some services! Because this is isn’t okay. C’mon you can’t control your kid there are services and or group homes… stop excusing terrible behavior or ignoring behavior challenges..
Exactly that level of anger is out of hand. The parents don't have control or care
have u noticed the homeless problem in america ? its because the mental services SUCK in america so thats why there are so many mentally ill homeless people. so no this family doesnt need to do anything , the government needs to do something for all the taxes and other fees they charge to society !
@@marleonetti7 yes the family needs to do something! Using the excuse that the homeless population sucks in ‘America’ is because lack of mental health services is one sided.. there are a host of other contributing factors.. but what people will do is pick apart what fits there narrative… folks have survived years of mental illness w/o ‘support’ so don’t blame ‘homelessness on mental health’
Homeless suck in American because corps make it unaffordable live, montage rates are ridiculously high, and we would rather push out hardworking families and to make a profit…
And truth be told most folks that are homeless are not mentally unstable.. but they will have you believe that!
@@gigimarie1987 um , no u are totally wrong regarding the homeless issue . most homeless on the street ARE mentally ill and its not families out there who simply dont earn enough to afford high rent . there are programs and people who usually assist families with housing but its the mentally ill and drug addicted mentally ill that have trouble getting help with housing because the system makes it too hard for them to fill out all the necessary paperwork and attend all the necessary screening appointments so they just give up or never try and no social workers go out to find them and help them with the process . homelessness today is mostly due to the system failing because there are no longer any govt funded housing projects to house these people like there used to be in the 70s and 80s , thats why there are so many people in certain cities just living on the street .
@@marleonetti7 According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), 21% of people experiencing homelessness in 2022 reported having a serious mental illness, and 16% reported having a substance use disorder. This is compared to 4-6% of the general population. However, some say that mental illness and substance use disorders are not the primary reason people become homeless, and that the majority of the homeless community does not have these conditions.
According to Psychology Today, the majority of people with mental illness are not homeless, and studies have not shown a causal link between the two. However, health problems can lead to homelessness, and homelessness can make chronic medical conditions worse. For example, people living in shelters are more than twice as likely to have a disability than the general population… 🤷🏾♀️
These people abused this apartment.
I disagree with JM about the weed smell. If the place smells like weed, you aren't going to be able to rent it out until that smell is gone.
People wonder why rents are skyrocketing? Because of people like the defendant trashing the place and the landlords are forced to eat the cost of repairs because the deposit doesn't come anywhere near the cost. To recoup this amount, they raise rent on the next renters.
Nah, rents are high because of greedy landlords who charge 2082 prices for 1982 rat holes.
Fixed that for ya!
Some owner/landlords like myself have had to raise rent because of increased property taxes and homeowners insurance (due to inflation, city’s $10’s of millions spent in support of illegal immigrants paid for by taxpayers, etc). My monthly mortgage payment increased by $400. Had to increase rent by $100 to help offset that.
The rent moratoriums in some areas didn't help. Landlords' expenses didn't stop even when rents did.
@@granitemoss1451that and courts being closed for so long left a big backlog. It’s taken a lot of time to clear all those cases.
Weed doesn’t linger like tobacco does. A simple wash and the carpet will be fine, unless it’s burned.
😂😂😂😂😂 yeah there's more than she's a teenager she needs an exorcism
That daughter needs help.
Milian and Mathis get too emotional sometimes. This is why none of these judges have nothing of Judge Judy. JJ don't let emotions get in the way for her ruling.
Milian felt sorry for the defendants because of the daughter and the daughter caused soo much damage. JM was wrong for giving the Plaintiff such a hard time.
People wonder why majority owner's avoid kids in rental best they can.
This is beyond regular kid stuff.
@kandi668 and how does owner know which one is "regular"?
And it's illegal. Don't even try it. It's not worth it.
@finally97 You cant say "no kids" in any type ad but you or broker can filter out who you want without saying "no,you have a kid"
They legally can't cuz it's against federal housing laws. And I don't mean section 8. It applies to homeowners and home renters as well. But ppl find a way around it. Trust me... Ive worked in the apartment industry for 10 years and you see a lot of shit like that. Kids , old ppl, black ppl, and middle eastern ppl
A year and a half and all that damage? This was just reckless!
I wouldn't want to rent that place even once they were out and it was cleaned up because I wouldn't want to live in a building where tenants like that are tolerated.
As a mother with a child that has several severe mental illnesses, i feel the mother's pain. People judge the parent when some mental illnesses are hard to treat. Don't give up on her. Stay on her side, don't make excuses, but let her know you understand it may be hard for her. My son is 17, and with treatment, he's doing great! Find the treatment that works for her. Don't allow the opinions of others to turn you against your child. It can get better. The older they get the harder it will be but it's still possible. Stay strong.
And the teenager years are hardest for typical kids, let alone kids with mental health challenges.
The neighbors must have been happy!!
I feel the judge was a bit unreasonable. Yes she has to replace a carpet adter they trashed it. And yes the smell of weed goes away but not out of carpet easily. Speaking from experience. We had professionals come in and it still smelled. Smells permeate unfortunately. And its not always easily fixed with a shampooing. But the tenants were disgusting and dirty and had zero respect for the property.
Just keep blaming your daughter but you still allow her to be a problem and maybe talking about it might help !!
As a landlord ....this is your worst nightmare!
I’m sorry.. I don’t think her verdict was fair. The landlord WOULD have needed to replace that carpet!! You can’t shampoo out the black paint the violent daughter sprayed on it!!! Come on! The plaintiff made a mistake not getting a carpet estimate.,then the judge should have given the plaintiff the deprecated value of that. She only walked away with what I think was a ridiculous small amount of reimbursement!!! These people were filthy and didn’t care.. besides having a daughter with issues. Just wrong in my opinion….
The carpet already needed replaced before they moved in. It looked nasty before, so why should they have to pay for something that needed to be done already?
Also, she got to keep the deposit.
i hope they find the child the help she needs to be a happy successful adult🥺
That all stems from the parents
I think this judge is starting to lose it... in many cases I've seen her attack the wrong party, meaning treating them bad. The defendants that destroyed this property were walked through this case with their hands held!
They're white. That's how JM operates.
Well it was very clear that they did not intentionally damage it and there were some mental health issues at play. Also they were not unreasonable and let them keep their entire security no question bc they knew they didn’t leave it in great condition. They did their bit.
I think she gets upset when ppl attempt to be greedy with their lawsuit amounts. She could have more tact but it's like she is offended litigants don't know that courts aren't get rich quick schemes
The plaintiff was trying to get more than she deserved. Obviously being greedy. Both parties were in the wrong
I have thought the same
she has to live with her because she's a minor, but earlier didn't she say she moved out
Agreed..I caught that too! So which is it lady?😮
Probably a mental health program
That lady's daughter needs jail or some therapy! Every damage left behind seemed to be because of her and for mom to not wanna talk about it... Ita because she already knows her daughter needs help!
What the hell is wrong with the judge taking the side of the defendant when they're nothing but trash!
You know the carpet was in better condition maybe it was a big stain maybe it would look kind of dirty but it was not damaged the way this trashy people left it
Yeah (defendant couple) got lucky, as in any other day, Plaintiff and her partner gave a pretty damn convincing case of those out of control/unacceptable damages (which the defendants admit and admit it was over horsesense/them intentionally wrecking the rental/lease smh), and I'm finding it hard to believe all they have to do is blame "the daughter who has problems" and Milian understands and has empathy, but Milian knew deep down she was entitled to something so 500 I guess is better than nothing lol. Wow smh.
Milian and her stupid empathy
horrible daughter and enabling defendants
Mentally ill daughter. May not be her fault. You don't know
Some of these renters are just remedial 😂😂😂
You might want to look up the word remedial as your comment is nonsensical🙄
@@misssophie7717 awwww Sophie, I think you might fit the remedial group as well given your comment! 😂😂😂
I agree with Miss Sophie, per the Webster dictionary:
adjective: remedial
giving or intended as a remedy or cure.
"remedial surgery"
provided or intended for school students who have not achieved the level of attainment necessary for them to be able to study with their contemporaries.
"remedial education"
Also from the Latin word remedium which translated into English means remedy. Your poor mastery of the English language may indicate that you may need a remedial English class.
@@Ash-83😂😂😂 your remedial comment and dictionary efforts matter about as much as these remedial renters’ excuses! 😂😂😂
It literally means remedy, admit that you have no clue and walk away. The renter was not a remedy as your comment reads, therefore NOT REMEDIAL! Furthermore the proper use and mastery of the English Language is important in life, I was TRYING to educate you on the proper definition and use of the word as you did not use it correctly, and further used it erroneously in you attempt at a reply when you intended it as an insult. My comment was in fact a remedial comment as my intent was to educate you in your deficient use of the word and the definition and use does in fact matter if you wish to sound educated and learned in order to advance in life. So I repeat, you should likely look into to a remedial English class!
When the plaintiff told her husband to "sit down" ; We all know who is wears the pants in the house. 😁
The judge is ridiculous about the damage. They should have got at least $1000 to cover ripping up and replacing the carpet. She's really out of touch sometimes.
I think the overall judgement was correct. The plaintiff already had the security deposit of $1900. JM gave an additional ~$500.
So $2500 total for the repairs seems right 🤷🏾♂️
The carpet needed replaced BEFORE they moved in.
No, she's fair and listens to what people are saying, on both sides. The defendants lost their deposit, plus paid a bit more. That's entirely reasonable; the plaintiff got greedy and wanted more than would have been fair.
The plaintiff already kept the $1,900 security deposit and they're getting an extra $471 on top of that. I think it's fair.
Obviously not
Madalena was wise to put in vinyl flooring. It looks nice 👍🏽
The mother is a joke
What is going on in that household? I get that some kids can be especially troubled and hard to manage, whether typical teenage stuff or legitimate mental health issues, but how on earth is that mom just shrugging her shoulders and so detached? She had a responsibility to her daughter to get involved for goodness sake. Why is the daughter allowed to have friends over if she's so poorly behaved?
I believe you pretty much answered your own question…. The mother.
Smh the daughter going to receive all that karma when she hit that age
WHAT!?!?!? Those f***ers let the place in very bad conditions and they won’t even pay $500.00 for the damages?!?! Did the tenant told the landlord about the psychological issues her daughter suffers before renting the place? If she didn’t, she should pay an extra WITH the safety deposit to cover what damages that person did.
Those two tenants had absolutely NO EXCUSE to leave that apartment in that state!
They had already paid $1900 in security deposit. The amount here was additional money!
That's actually illegal. You can't ask someone that and can't decide to not rent to them based on that. Maybe she could have gotten more security.
i dont cry any tears for landlords . thats what the deposit was for and the landlord knew the risk when she rented out her property to complete strangers and also the landlord got to keep their deposit so what are u crying about !!!!!!
$4k for vinyl flooring for a small apartment? 😮
Wow the daughter has severe issues 😮😬
its called "a kid"
Landlord's krypton
The Judge made an excellent decision. The defendants lost $1900 security as a result of the damage they caused but the Judge drove home the point that they were not responsible for new flooring to replace old worn carpeting.
I think it's sad when parents have kids with severe behavorial issues. However....
I DETEST parents who think their kids' mental issues are a pass for the kids to get away with anything...& that other innocent people should stay mum & just "take 1 for the team." Why should others suffer and/or be grossly inconvenienced because YOUR kid has behavioral problems??? Listen, I'm as empathetic, if not more, as the next person, but c'mon🫥
Fair. I think there should be a bit more monetary / staffing help made available to those families who have someone with a literally violent illness so that everybody involved has some recourse to help.
If we spent just a few billion less on our ridiculous military budget, it'd be relatively easy to set up.
Based on the landlord's and parent's responses, the parents took responsibility. Their situation is unfortunate and it sounds like they were trying.
@@finally97 Not really.
They acted as if the amount of money they paid as security deposit, would be enough for ANY possible payment at the end of their stay, regardless of how much damage there had ACTUALLY been done to the property by them and their kids…
I actually DOUBT they were trying AT ALL…
After all:
They just IGNORED those items they absolutely KNEW were RUINED by them and/or their kids:
The broken window, both of those ALMOST SHREDDED doors and that nasty black filth on both walls in the son’s room…
Those things were easy to fix, but instead they CHOSE TO NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!
Especially the son’s room: IT’S JUST CLEANING!!!
If it is what the defendant claims herself (“it’s caused by him leaning back on his chair”), then it obviously is just dirt and grease (from his hair.)
The black lines on the bottom of that second wall looked more as if his desk would have been placed there, with the son then sitting in front of that wall and his feet (SHOES) touching the white wall all the time; leaving those kind of black stripes on the wall.
Both of these dirty spots can be easily cleaned, if you use a good cleaning product (especially for the greasy part of the dirt).
Just take a bucket and some cloths and do the work!
It’s just CLEANING!
BUT NOOOOO…..
Even thát was too much trouble!
The defendant giving the “I didn’t have enough time”-excuse…
“Honey, we’re ALL busy!!!”
I myself have been short on time too, when I needed to do the ‘final exit walk through’ with my landlord, due to all sorts of factors, ‘working a lot’ being one of them.
During the day I had to work at my job, that had to be done too of course.
It came down to me having 2.5 day to fix and clean this house and it was a BIG JOB.
But I didn’t shrug my shoulders and said “Ow well…” without doing anything….!!!!
I gathered some friends that could help me in the evening and at night…
AND WE KEPT ON GOING (!!) UNTIL WELL AFTER MIDNIGHT FOR THOSE TWO DAYS!
AND AFTER THAT, ON THE VERY LAST NIGHT, WE KEPT ON WORKING UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS FIXED…!
… AND THÉN WE CLEANED THE WHOLE HOUSE…!
AT 6AM WE WERE COMPLETELY DONE !!
At 10AM… the landlord and I did the final walkthrough and everything was perfectly fine and got my whole security deposit back (AS I ALWAYS HAVE!!!)
I understand that it would be (too?) hard to fix the whole carpet and the spray paint on that piece of carpet, but those other things… that’s just being lazy and/or just not caring…. OR BEING RESPONSIBLE !!!!
She's taking up for her bad as... daughter if the daughter is a teenager I would make her pay for everything...
My goodness. I would be scared to have a child like that in my house.
I think that CPS should be called on this family! The girl may be in an abusive household. This man may be the one busting up those walls and doors! What do y'all think?
No. Given the Plaintiff's testimony about her own experience in dealing with the out of control daughter, I believe that the daughter caused the damages caused by intentional violence. If police have been involved, chances are, CPS already is too.
I was expecting it to be a very nice rental house. It was just an old apartment😂
Are defendants stoned, they are pretty nonchalant about the damage and are blaming it on daughter and son and take no responsibility. I’m not sure but I would have to say that they all were smoking pot causing these issues.
Yeah, the son seems off, too....
When did parents fear their children? I thought we are taught to respect our folks and make them proud.
In my generation i feared my dad more than the police. Dont get me wrong, i respected the police. But i would have rather delt with the police than my dad.
@@cobravids Same. If I was in trouble I didn’t want authorities to tell my folks. Now most body cam videos show them asking to call their Mom.
It's a mental issue. Not a discipline problem. Mental health is very important
There are complicating issues here, clearly. The original comment is extremely ignorant.
Love how she kept mentioning and using the excused “we’ve lived there for a year and a half” blah blah blah. A year and a half is not long plus those are intentional damages not normal wear and tear or built up damage 🙄 we’ve lived in our home for almost 10 years and our home does not look no where close to that apartment. She didn’t ask for her deposit back because she knows her daughter did those damaged and she didn’t have the place clean and maintained during their one year they live there.
Plus, that child seems like a spoiled brat who was raise to have everything her way or no way. She don’t need help, she needs serious disciplining. I’m sure she was smoking weed with her parents to.
The landlord is taking advantage , and her husband just sits there. l guess she is the one who rules, and he just watches .
Sounds like the daughter didn't get much parental guidance. Cuz if she did, she would have more respect for ppl than she does. 🤨😒

Spilled bong water is the worst!!!
This is like the skit from "key & peele" where the pimp is showing an apartment to possibly new clients, chaos and all!
😂😂😂. Yes
Plaintiffs husband looks slightly like r Kelly 😂
The kids are running the asylum
I feel for the defendants. I have a daughter with anger issues and its no fun trying to fix all the broken things and maintain a HOME let alone maintain my daughters mental health. A required amount to be withheld is obvious, not to CHA-CHING on a COMPLETE RENOVATION
The defendant is delusional
Shitty landlord for trying to have the tenants pay for necessary updates. But the defendants left the apartment in bad condition. Unfortunate that her daughter seemingly has severe behavioral issues. But that’s not an excuse to let her destroy rented property and not face the consequences.
"I've had terrible things happen in my life"
How is that your landlord's responsibility????
"It wasn't that bad"
What planet is that man from?
The plaintiff shouldn’t be a landlord, as she thinks the defendant should pay for new floors (instead of same as move in. She still has a lot to learn about as landlord & renters. Trashing the place is unacceptable.
It was nice to see that the plaintiff was hoping the girl was getting help, and you could see that her mother was embarrassed about condition of the house. That is why she didn't ask for her security. I feel for the mother and daughter, hope they are doing better. You don't know what the issues are so you can't say "this is what she should do".
YIKES! The defendants crazy 🤪 eyes are KILLING me!🤣😩🤔🌹
I had a landlord try to do this to me. She was a friend and had an apt that moved me closer to family. I moved right in and spent days deep cleaning the apartment and painting. There was a huge hole in several walls and she said, no worries I’ll get them fixed. After a year I moved out, and she had the place totally done over and tried to get me to cover the cost of everything including fixing those walls… umm no, I took photos of before I moved in and they got nothing in court…
Can't believe she got a credit of $500 for the carpet that would have had to be replaced anyway.
😂😂she told that man sit down smh 😂 damn
The daughter needs an old school grandma
I'm sorry but as a long time renter I can wholeheartedly say that living in a place for a year and a half doesn't warrant losing a security deposit. For her to assume that indicates she knows they messed up someone else's property and thought not asking for their deposit would be the end of it. I lived in a place 2.5 years with 4 kids and it looked exactly the same.
Kids are worse than pets
Sounds to me like the daughter needs a special jacket that gives her 24 hour hugs.
Can we all throw Douglas some love?? ❤
No wonder they didn't wanna say last name
I disagree about the weed smell. It's the same as cigarettes. If the plaintiff could smell it after the defendant vacated the unit, it's the same. The plaintiff should have tried all of the cigarette smell remedies and brought that to court. Definitely not $4k worth of damages but more than what was given. That's on the plaintiff. Hoping things are much better with the defendant's daughter.
You know the defendant is the type to live in filth.
Great parenting
I'm stuck in sixties cartoons too Judge Milan...giggle
"I don't want to talk about that." Is she allowed to say that to a judge??
Seems like a horrible mother
The landlord should have gotten a restraining order against the daughter straight up.
I can only imagine what society would be like if every child was raised by a mother and father in the same home. It's always a child being raised by a single mother. The single mother is trying her best, but it's extremely difficult to raise a child as a single working parent, and then not having the male figure in the daughter's life and this is what you get.
Defendant husband looks so guilty to me.
Need to move into a rubber room folks
Sorry I NEVER showed an occupied apartment ....unless I knew what it looked like , not that my residents were nasty but some had been there up to 30 years
And would have required painting etc !!!!
Thank you for saying that Doug. If somebody totals your car, getting he depreciated value isn't going to replace it. BTW, the Judge is literally dresses like a cougar at the end😅.
The daughter probably suffers from bipolar disorder, the dressing inappropriate, and the outburst of anger. That's why the mother doesn't want to talk about it. Hope she's getting the help she needs.
If your daughter has a mental condition that affects her ability to control herself and causes her to be destructive, she NEEDS professional help instead of excuses from her mother. Excusing her behavior only worsens her behavior and makes her feel validated in doing these bad behaviors! Make her pay for these damages and I guarantee she will stop and think before she acts next time!
People like the defendants really have no shame. I’m petrified to become a landlord; looks can be so deceiving.
It’s amazing how some people don’t realize that they have to pay for their own mistakes not other people…
The last comment from Harvey about “unfairness” of the law is not actually unfair at all. The housing market is ruined from average people who want to make money off of people who need housing. If someone would buy a house over renting they would. Someone who rents a 50 year old home and gets the luck of draw that the landlord wants a new floor after they move out would then have to pay for that because they walked on the floor for a year? No. You bought a house to make money so use that money and invest in YOUR property.
