How can you decide weather Catholics or any other Christian faith is true. Who made you the judge. Your viewpoint is based on your beliefs, therefore biased. You reject many of the parts of the gospel. Your beliefs are as faulty as theirs.

MacArthur is a real blessing. I grew up Catholic, catholic schools, great alterboy, etc. What a mission field we have. I'm rather fond of Luke 1:46-47 when Mary said, “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,..." Thus admitting that she herself was a sinner and in need of a savior. IOW, we only need The Savior if we're a sinner and Mary clearly understood this. Mary was a woman of honor but still a sinner in need of a savior. Just like every last human being.
Revelations 18-8! I was raised a catholic. The bible was in latin, our prayers were to mary, the mother of GOD. I went to confession on Saterday, I made up sins to confess. I prayed to mary the mother of GOD, I was 14 years old when I REALISED this is so wrong and I quit the Catholic church, I was given a bible when I was in my early 30's. I study the words daily and love and trust our lord GOD ALMIGHTY. The word of GOD is food for the soul!

Coming out of catholicism: at 11 while in church for penance I had gone every week. That Saturday I couldn't think of a sin. The priest said I couldn't receive absolution. I got up from kneeler and said ' I don't need you' only Jesus can forgive me' I don't need you " he chased me out of church.
Being the son of Sicilian immigrants, I grew up Roman Catholic and was Catholic until my mid-thirties. By God's grace, I was invited to a Christian home Bible study group, and after a long and stubborn struggle and lots of reading of scripture, I finally saw the errors of that faith and I became a bible believing Christian. Praise Jesus!
Terminal, I am so very grateful to the Holy Spirit for keeping me in the Church that Jesus Christ established on Peter the rock and sole key holder, way before the new testament was ever written and way before the thousands and thousands of Man made Protestant churches began! @@antonmeyer7369 I was listening to John MacArthur with great interest in his preaching. John's preaching lead me to question the Catholic faith that I was raised with. I also got a book written by a Catholic priest to compare to the bible as well, so I was being completely fair and thorough.
John MacArthur's teaching was line by line through the Bible, and very deep. I loved it.
Very deep. John started a study on the Gospel of John. I was excited because, "finally, someone will destroy the teachings of the Holy Eucharist." And then I would be out of the Catholic church.
John gets to the 6th chapter, goes through line by line, of the feeding of the 5000.
Then John states, 'This is where the Catholics get their idea of Holy Eucharist. Obviously it is a bunch of huey and full of bologna, because if you go to verse...'
And John skips to something like verse 63. He changed his presentation style, he skipped over 25 verses and then went backwards. That was not how he approached any other verses. I was beside myself. He cant do that!! I wrote him a letter (1990s) and asked John to explain that part better. He asked me to buy a book called, 'The Gospel according to Rome."
I was raising a family and had no extra money, but I bought the book. Guess what, it skips the same verses.
Well then the Catholic priest had a chance to explain those verses. He was not afraid of those verses.
All John MacArthur had to do was go through those verses line by line and I would have left the Catholic Church. But he never did and the book he referred me to did not either.

And when we are ask to have complete faith in Jesus in all He said, that means having faith in the exact things He said in John 6. The Holy Eucharist is His Body and Blood, just as He said.

While in the service, I was asked by a coworker and friend to attend Catholic Mass with them on Sunday. I was raised-up in the Missionary Baptist Church, and was interested in what I might hear and see. Understand, this was in the early eighties, and being a farm boy from Alabama, I had no idea of what I was about to behold. Less than five minutes in, I knew I had made a poor choice to attend. I had never been so uneasy in my entire life, and clearly did not belong there.
Was an altar boy lucky enough to be on an AFB., so wasn’t molested, but was saved by Jesus and brought out. The papacy has enough money to end every ill on Earth 3x over. Those who maintain it could care less! Glad I got out.

I attended mass once with my girlfriend at the time and her family. They were all Catholic and I was just a nondenominational Christian. I remember the night I met her she said, “You’re cute but you’re not Catholic.” My response was, “What’s the difference?” Clearly God put her in my life to show me the difference.
I am humbled to be able to say, I am but a sinner saved by grace through Christ by faith in His blood.❤

History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

The “church” never burned anyone, unfortunately some bad zealous Catholics certainly did. Equally unfortunate, pope Alexander VI. Maybe not the worst pope in history but certainly at the top. Reigning from noble Borgia family, he is as known for having many mistresses and several children. Besides breaking his vows of celibacy, Alexander VI’s name became synonymous with nepotism.
To “explain” these behaviors is simply to say its - egregious, deplorable, criminal, just plan wrong. There is no excuses for these and the many other acts other Catholics in history have done. We are a sinful people - we are a church made up of sinners - we all are. My own child is among some of this kind of behavioral problems but they/we are still all God’s people that need His mercy and love. 🤷🏽♂️

1 Tim 2 first calls Christians to mediate in prayer to God for other people.

Christ is the only Mediator for the absolution of sin. He subsequently distributed His authority to His Apostolic Church in John 20:23.

I was sent to a convent school from 6 years old until 11 years old. That child felt the evil during the 1hour service we were forced to attend. Thank you for your teaching. As a six year old little girl, I was told by the eighth grade girls teaching the ccd class, protestants did not go to Heaven. My mom's mom was protestant. Reading the Our Father off one of her planters that ended with for thyne is the power the Kingdom and the glory now and forever. I asked my mom why grandma's prayer was different than what we said in church. Grandma looked at my mom. Suddenly, without a word, I believe it to be the Holy Spirit, knew God loved my grandma. I knew her to love Jesus and believe I will see her in Heaven.

The ending to which you refer is not in the earliest manuscripts of Matthew's Gospel, it is a later addition, and it is not in Luke's Gospel at all.

I was told that too about Protestants as a child but I did not believe God thought that because Gos would understand how the split came about and not blame the descendants. Vatican II changed that judgmental attitude.
I was born Catholic because my mother was Polish and my father was Spanish. At the age of 12, 😂 realized, while in church, that the Catholic church could not tell me if I was saved. I did not come back to church until I was 23 and moved to Arkansas and was led to faith by a faithful couple- USING THE BIBLE. I am very glad that John did this series. I don't want anyone to be Catholic and I share that freely. I am going to try to write down ALL his sermons in this series so I can share it with my daughter and son in law. And here we go. Addressing those saying Baptism or anything else is required. I'm sorry you've been taught this, then used Acts to proof-text it. But many do this a lot with error. We see this with the prosperity gospel, etc. Plenty of examples in the NT where Baptism is specified as not being essential (beyond the thief of the cross). Those that push these beliefs - think of what your faith is ACTUALLY in...Baptism, not in Christ. With that said, I've been baptized as have the vast majority of Christians but we know this is just an outward extension of our faith not THE object of our faith. I get it, you're Church of Christ or Adventist. But like John is saying, the entirety of scripture is what most are looking at, not simply proof-texting which isn't proof at all.
Read what Paul stated about baptism in Corinthians after stating he was glad he baptized so few of them. He went on to say he was not sent to baptize but to preach the gospel.
Now, let that sink in. If Baptism was part of the plan of salvation or the gospel why not spend a LOT of time mentioning it as part of the new covenant messages we see in John, Hebrews, Romans, Ephesians, Galations Corinthians etc? Not only do we not see that, Paul said he was sent to preach the gospel. If required for salvation, there would be no need to separate it - after all it would be PART of the gospel.
With that said, everyone should have that moment of baptism IF they understand it correctly to celebrate their entry into the kingdom and have a visual reminder of what Christ did and has done for you.
Legalists, including C of C want to ADD to the gospel. This is unbiblical and takes away from Christ's glory. We don't get to boost about our PERFORMANCE over the free gift (that Christ paid so dearly for). How dare we. As Paul said, it is not of ourselves. It's a free gift. Yes, in Greek and English, this means the same thing. :)

Also, Scripture tells us that we have only one foundation, Jesus Christ (1 Cor 3:11); but, Scripture tells us that there is more than one foundation (Eph 2:19-20). Scripture tells us that we have only Lord, Jesus Christ (Eph 4:4-5); but, Scripture tells us there is more than one lord (Rev 19:16). Scripture tells us that we have only one Judge, Jesus Christ (James 4:12); but, Scripture tells us there is more than one judge (1 Cor 6:2).
Contradictions in Scripture? No! Not when these passages are all properly understood in context. Jesus is the only foundation; Jesus is the only Lord; and Jesus is the only Judge. But, we are members of Jesus' Body. Therefore, we are able, according to the graces given by Christ, to share in Jesus' role as foundation, as lord, and as judge, and in other aspects of Christ, as well. Another example, as a father I share in God's role as Father, by His grace. And, so also, we, and the saints in Heaven, and the angels in Heaven, can share in Christ's role as Mediator.

Where the Bishop is, there is Jesus Christ, and there is the Catholic Church. 110 AD. 1 Tim 1:3 says not to teach any different doctrines. Protestants have many different doctrines. Once saved, always saved. Some Christian churches teach that others do not. When Martin Luther died in 1546, there were over 100 Christian Churches all teaching different doctrines. I was a Catholic 25 years ago,after marriage my father in law was a indapendant baptist, he would always kid me giving another burnt offering i smoked back then no more though.My moms side we had sister Ann and father JOHN, when you only know one religion of course yours is the right one. John 17:21 isn't a command from Jesus to establish unity under a single church. Again, if you read the verse in context, you see that Jesus is praying for unity of faith for His disciples. Jesus isn't even talking to His disciples here...this verse is in the High Priestly Prayer, and God the Son is speaking to God the Father.

I was Catholic and went to a catholic high school. Our story was always when a Christian came to our doors. "we are Catholic and we don't believe in any other religion" God had something different in mind for me and my family. We end up in a different country with a hard situation where God opened our eyes to see the truth. I'm a faithful believer of our Lord Jesus Christ and am very happy God had mercy on us and showed us the truth. In my heart I did follow the catholic religion because of my family, but I never really believed. God saw that I needed it to find the truth and He guided me to the Light.

'm a former Catholic. I was born in Catholicism and even went to Catholic schools. After the Lord opened my eyes when He saved me, there was no way I would ever step foot in a Catholic church again. I also researched the origins and beginnings of the Catholic church. In simple words, I believe that Catholicism is a mother-son cult and these cults go all the way to Babylon times with Nimrod and his mother. My maternal siblings and relatives are still Catholics and don't want me to talk to them about this. All they have to do is just to some simple time saving research and it would be right in front of their eyes. However, God has to open their eyes. My husband and I raised our boys in the Baptist faith and now they are adults who have blessed us with ten awesome grandchildren, none of who are Catholics.
Even when I was young and dumb, I never would have bowed before the pope and never would even consider kissing his ring either.

I was studying the Bible while listening to John MacArthur. He was doing his Line by line study. He started the Gospel of John. He got to the 6th chapter. I, raised as a Catholic was hoping he would explain away Jn6. He covers the feeding of the 5000 and then says, "and here is where the Catholics get the idea of Holy Eucharist. Obviously it is a bunch of bologna and a lot of huey, because..." and he skipped all the verses until he got to verse 63.
I wrote him a letter to explain it better. He wrote back and asked me to buy a book. I bought it. It skipped those verses as well. If they are scared of those verses, why??
I also had a priest explaining the Bible, and he was not afraid of those verses.

History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
