    Vid ideas:
    1. Gemstones found in Missouri.( currently there is one called the “dragon scale calcite” which is only found here)
    2. Plants and animals ONLY found here.(there are species of crawfish and cave snails that have only been witnessed here in Missouri)
    3. Myths about Missouri

LOOOOOVE this list! We are adding it to our ideas and hopefully we could do something like this soon! Maybe a video like "Things found ONLY in Missouri" type video. We have thought about myths in Missouri, like the Spook! Still collecting content on that to try and make it a full video!!!

Spent most of my life near Springfield, and as far as recycling, there is a free drop off center just east of Kansas Expressway a little north of Chesnut. Second and one thing I really miss, is the cheap entertainment of a double A ball game at Hammonds Field. (Go Baby Birds!)

Thanks for the info on recycling. I feel like it's one thing we Missourians don't do often- but should do!
And who could hate going to a ball game??? I've had some great memories there! 🤩

Hey, where in San Diego? My wife and I escaped from Claremont Mesa on 1 January 2000. We met in Chula Vista in 1968 after I got out of the Navy. When I first saw San Diego, back in 1964, I fell in love with it. It was a lot like Springfield is now: actual dirt (with farms) between the cities. I can remember dairy farms in Mission Valley! And NOTHING north of the I-8 and east of what's now the 163. The 805 didn't yet exist. Chula Vista pretty much ended where the 805 is now. Btw, the folks who own the Purple Burrito Express on Campbell and Sunshine (across from Loftis Jewelers) are from Chula Vista. Awesome food! Gotta go.

In retort to the "negatives", weather is the best thing about Springfield imo. The people that complain about the weather are ones that won't be happy anywhere, frankly. for allergies, take some locally produced honey and elderberry juice. helps alot. I'm glad our economy revolves around farming, light manufacturing, trucking, small businesses - these are producers, builders, creators of tangible, physical things that society needs, not "technology" that just perpetuates narratives and is invisible. You can't eat or drive "communications".

Honestly I always list it as both a "con" and a "pro". We've got the 4 seasons, and it always stays interesting. 🤷🏻‍♂️
There are tons of businesses that keeps us both on our feet, and keeps this place interesting. That's what can make our area so so special. 😄

When serving in the Navy, I learned that "home is where you hang your white hat". Anyplace and everyplace has its plusses and minuses. As to Trader Joe's, and Ikea, be tough! Be resilient! I lived 16 1/2 years in Republic, and never even thought about Trader Joe's and Ikea. Nothing I wanted was unavailable. The 3rd place you mentioned: I never heard of. GREAT!!! Now I've ended a sentence in a preposition! That's something up with which I will not put!!! You used to have an Easy Take Out on Campbell, which was a spin-off of In-and-Out. When my granddaughter was little, I took her there, and told her I was so sorry, but she couldn't have a boysenberry shake like I was having. "WHY, BAPA???", with tears welling up in her eyes. "Sweetheart, you have to have a GIRLSENBERRY shake". I did miss Jack in the Box. But I'm tough. I survived the trauma. And so can you! Be brave! It's getting better.

The worst thing that I remember about Springfield is the traffic! But also all the old, dilapidated buildings. I hope, in the time I've been gone, that Springfield has been able to repair or rebuild those buildings.

    • @wiserlivingrealty
      @wiserlivingrealty  Год назад +1

I know even if slowly, many buildings are being redone inside and made into newer businesses! Which is always good for people to support. There's been some really cool ones you can find downtown or C-Street if you know where to look for them!

Comment on In N Out. You were in Vegas, of course the fries taste like styrofoam, everything is fake there. And you probably had to wait fooooorrrrrrrr evvvvver to get your food. I like In N Out but we have Whataburger and I can go there occasionally and be satisfied. Now.... The best part of SGF is that IT IS NOT a big city as much as our city council wants it to be. I moved here from the west coast because I wanted a city that was quieter. Keep up the great work and the great videos, thanks for taking the time. 😊

Also, with In N Out, I am guessing that must be the case. We ended up with somewhere they had some bad management. Who knows? If they get a location here it may be entirely different!

Second thought, about all of the things Springfield does not have, well guess what. You have something I have not seen anywhere else and that is Brown Derby! Especially a place like the International Wine Center. Oh! And Coyote's Adobe Cafe Possibly the best wings in at least Missouri and maybe west of the Mississippi. Sorry, totally not talking about what I don't like but I have been gone seven years and only visit once a year. The traffic does still suck, there something I don't like.

Don't worry about your allergy season. Melbourne (Australia), is the WORLD capital for allergies with 1 in 3 people who suffer from it. (This is according to The Amazon Rainforest Study, co-authored by La Trobe University Dr Philip Taylor)

Yes that has alot of truth to it. The problem with allergies is that the wind brings the pollens in from over the desert.

as watching this town get worse over the past years, I want to run out this town, now they are talking about to raise minim wage to 15 hr, and this town well become NY city, it already is getting there with homeless and crime on the rise with everyone moving here causing land value to raise rent and product on shelves.
