My buddies & I made a teepee style tent for our cigar smoking. With small draft tunnel for a fire and smoke, it quickly became a popular winter spot for everyone. Nothing beats smoking a cigar like smoking a cigar next to an open fire. Just becareful not to let the embers touch the cigar
I too have an insulated ice fishing tent. I am in the mid atlantic and it often gets near freezing or below. I use a space heater, and hook up a light as well inside the tent. I was having issues with venting so I added an electric exhaust fan that fits directly into the vent in the roof of the tent. This is a very good fan and I still had issues with the smoke. I could stand sitting in it but when I came out boy did I smell like an old ashtray. If I could perfect the venting my setup would be perfect.
I live in Canada and I came up with the same thing. I found a ice fishing hut on Amazon. I bought a few extras that I needed. And now I can enjoy cigars in the winter
I’ve had to make a few mods to my setup but I feel it’s dialed in now. I was getting some rain leaking through the top which got a few things wet inside so I added a field tarp over the top of the ice tent and that fixed it (still raining in PA). I added Reflectix to cover the floor and then a thin shop carpet over that to help keep the heat inside. I linked 115ft of LED lights around the ceiling for warm ambient lighting. I bought an outside recliner, air purifier, and a gooseneck iPad stand holder along with a small end table. It is a fantastic setup. No issues with ventilation with the air purifier going and the tent has 2 vents on the upper side panels. I look forward to my cigar time now!
Used to use a pop up ice fishing house with propane heater and Christmas lights on the back deck. Have a heated shed I use now. Tim, you'll have to come up to Bemidji for a -30° cigar outing.😁 My friend, Lee, says he has put out the invitation to you.👍
I turned an old garden shed into a lounge in northern Minnesota. I used a bathroom exhaust vent for the air and an inexpensive wood stove for heat. Worked like a charm. I can't say that I would feel safe smoking inside a nylon tent, even if was treated with fire retardant. Hard to beat the price, though.
I love this. I have been trying to figure out how I can smoke my cigars in this brutal Wisconsin winter weather. I have all these things already and will be trying this soon!
I live in upstate NY and I use a hunting blind. It vents super well and It's better in the elements of snow and ice. Usually I'm good with a space heater but when it's really cold I use the Mr. Buddy propane heater.
Man up! I've been in my Carhart jacket, in a snow storm, and smoking a stick. Seriously, I would be careful with a heater inside a tent. Take it from a retired Firefighter.
Don't plug space heaters into surge protectors!!! You need to plug them directly into the wall. The surge protectors aren't rated for the power that it consumes.
People in offices do this all the time then blow the circuit. Shutting their PC and equipment off. Have to tell them to stop plugging it into a power strip.
this isn't a universal rule, you just need to check the amperage, most are 15 amp or below which won't cover an 1800w heater but if you get a 20 amp strip or have a lower wattage setting on the heater you're fine.
Tim, I live in Illinois and a tent isn't going to beat this cold. I do have a heated garage, that is finished. I purchased a rabbit air 2, to address the smoke. I have discovered the rabbit will suck up the smoke, but doesn't deal with the smell. Will the renphro address the smell better than the rabbit? Im planning on making a ozone machine to address the smell. Great video!!
I’m following this because I’m not sure my wife will deal with another garage smelling like cigars. Might have to install a negative pressure fan to eliminate the smoke and smell completely 🤷🏼♂️
My recommendation is to spend all your money on a good heater that heat a space bigger than what you have, like the propane powered dyna glo convection heater. I will post a couple of pictures on the Facebook group page
I also live in Arizona and, sadly, I don't get to smoke cigars that often during the colder months. I enjoy smoking cigars in the evening to relax from the day and the temps can get quite chilly in the evening. Unfortunately, our HOA prohibits any tents being put up in the yard. We even got dinged for having a chimenea. No fires for warmth. A local lounge would be an option, but they are rather small and often packed because a lot of people run into the same issues. On top of that, football season seems to increase the crowd as well. For now, I just sit outside during the afternoon on my days off to enjoy a cigar. This all just adds to the reason why this isn't my favorite time of year. 😏
The only problem is one of the most enjoyable part about smoking cigars for me is the view of nature, the city, whatever. With this, it's just looking at a tent wall. But It's definitely better than freezing....I'll give you that.
Another solution if you're on a tight budget you could get some styrofoam and sheet metal if you've got them laying around and make a small insulated box which could be heated with anything and 2 small fans for airflow but I think it's a little too crackhead of a solution Wished I needed any solution for cold weather but where I'm from it's I think about 50F which is around 30-40F too warm considering it's December
After plowing snow all morning I’m relaxing with a San Cristobal in my Winter Fortress of Solitude Mini Cigar Lounge. I used an Ozark Trail last year but a storm wrecked it. I replaced it with a 3 man hunting blind this year. Great place. It’s up to 30° outside and toast in here. Even the cat enjoys it. :D
I have a 4 man Ice fishing tent that pops up super easy and a Big Buddy propane heater. Its gotten me through 2 Northern NY winters toasty and dry. Venting seems to be my biggest challenge. Its been difficult to vent the smoke and retain the heat. The heat tends to go directly out with the smoke lol.
I've been in my garden shed here in Northern Michigan. I have a "my buddy propane heater and it was 18 degrees this morning. The heater works well and might be hitting 50, but it's still cold. When the single digits hit, I might be reduced to cigarillos and frostbite.
The little chill in the air just makes it easier to keep the bourbon cold. I’m Albertan, and the average temperature my last week at work was around minus 30 before windchill. I work outdoors? So 18 degrees sounds lovely. It’s all relative.
Do you freeze your fingers off when you smoke cigars??? WELL I HAV ETHE SOLUTION FOR YOU! So warm in here and it’s 50 degrees outside! Im not going to be freezing any fingers off today! Not because it’s nowhere near freezing temperatures outside, but because my paper oregano tent is preventing it from happening.
Great option. I have this space under a 3 season porch, thinking of using a small inline duct fan (4" or 6") for venting, small space heater and a RENPHO for after to clean the air in the space.
I have an variable speed 4” exhaust fan with a charcoal filter and it works so well even on lowest speed. If the fan is going more than half way up it sucks the walls of my tent in and it’s a 10’x10’ tent for reference. 6” would move an incredible amount of air for you if you need one that large
We don’t get a ton of snow here in the Midwest, but what’s the snow/ice load of that tent, lol! Great idea on the cheap! We have a covered patio and put up outdoor curtains. Then use a solo stove with extra long heating pad to sit on. It’s not probably as warm as your tent, but it gets the job done.
Replacement for Perdomo Champaign? My local B&M stopped carrying Perdomo and I’m sad to not have access to the Champaign as I’ve found it about the best tasting Connecticut, mild and balanced sweet and bready notes. Advise from anyone? I prefer it to Oliva Conn, and I’ve had Brickhouse double conn which I found is close.
You are the best man I just was thinking about smoking in this cold snowing winter we have here in Belgium and you just come up with the right idea top man 😊
This is warning my soul as i sit on my ice cold patio it 30 degree weather enjoying your video and a cigar. Thanks for keeping the content fresh and interesting.
Being disabled I really can't do much in my backyard. I just use my carport, nice warm jacket, gloves with 3 fingers cut off so I can handle my cigar and I fire up my smoker to about 300f and sit close by it.
Cool idea. Wouldn't do me any good being its -40°F up here in alaska where I live 😂 Its basically impossible to find a good way to stay warm and smoke a good stogie :(
Especially a hard wall one. Put in a little camp stove in there and I’ve been in them when it’s been minus 55 with windchill. I was snug as a bug in a rug.
@Ryan Corsaut oh man that would be heaven, I've on occasion setup a little Coleman camp stove on a tiny table giving myself a chair and a pot of boiling coffee just enough room to fit in the mornings. It's cramped but I enjoy it
Nice experiment when it's only 48 degrees out, but if it's 20 degrees in the morning it's maybe 35 in that tent. I just embrace the cold, but then I don't have sub zero temperatures here.
Fireplaces have a natural air draw so, especially if you have a raised hearth, if you can manage to sit close enough, you get natural warmth, ambiance, and a fine session. Just keep your cold drink on the other side of you. You can watch the smoke being drawn up the chimney - along with the heat in your house…
I just smoked a robusto on my back deck in 26 degree power outage causing ice storm.. powers still out and I just wanna smoke another 😂 definitely prefer the indoor set up.
Love you, love the idea, but where I live, it gets damn cold in the winter. 50 degrees, and I'm outside in shorts and a tee shirt. I just don't know how this idea will work when it dips below 30 degrees.
I laughed out loud at the comment "if you don't have chairs you shouldn't be buying cigars". I live in California so cold weather is not really an issue here.
I have a big old 2 story home that already kind of smells like dusty books so I took the spare bedroom upstairs threw a window fan with an exhaust setting in a window and perch my cigar smoking ass right next to it. Seems to do the trick nobody complains of the smell when they come through the front door. If all else fails the house came with a whole house exhaust that will suck the O2 from the house so I'm sure a little cigars fumes don't stand a chance.
no chance this would work in any place that actually gets cold lmao .. i just smoke in -15C or colder even with my winter gloves and russian hat , good jacket and some layers .
With that flimsy nylon and mesh sides I can't see it's possible to stay warm. I just smoke pipes when it's really cold, clench it in my mouth and keep my hands in my pockets...
yeah, I agree. The setup I came up with wouldn't likely work if it got too cold. But I think the space heater is a good solution if you got a really good tent. Seems like some people in freezing areas use the Eskimo tents, and then a space heater seems to work pretty well even when it's really really cold.
As much as I hate smoke in my house and hate risking dropped ash in my vehicle, and as much as I kind of dislike cigar bars, I'd rather go to the cigar bar in the wintertime than smoke inside a tent.
My eyes and ears are bleeding. Cigars are classy and this guy suggests smoking inside a tent in your back yard. This is so so low class, Im out of words. Horrible.
Issue I would have is leaving the tent up all winter with the strong winds we get here. And 75 min set up isn’t good as a pop up as needed kind of as needed.
That's great. Hello from Brooklyn, NY. I enclosed my terrace with a tarp held with two Steel Load Lock Bar for Cargo one at the top and another at the bottom, basically building a wall. (think of a curtain being held by a tension rod at both ends) heated by a pair of heaters. finishing touch: added a white picnic sheet to watch you channel and movies. can fit 5 comfortably, once a while 7 people.
This makes me want to tarp-off an area beneath our deck and set up a space heater. I figure the space between the deck boards above would go a long way in venting the heated air, but it might need a fan as well…
I’m going to take this idea and add to it going to put it in my stock trailer for added protection from the wind living in the panhandle it has kept us from enjoying a cigar
I'd be curious what your Minnesota & Wisconsin subs are doing, short of a fully insulated garage w/gas heater. I have a 240V electric heater in my partially insulted garage FREEZING in Minnesota puffing on this Tatuaje Black. Tossing around some ideas in my head, if something I come up with works I'll let ya know!
I'm always amazed with the amount of people that don't smoke indoors. I only smoke in the lounge and my wife says it makes the place smell nice. Just remove ashtrays and nubs so you don't get that sour stale smell. I smoke about 2/3 cigars a week so I guess if you smoke that per day it might get a bit rough. Lol.
Variation on the theme... I moved my family out into the tent and I smoke in the living room.
Don't listen to tim, has no idea what he's talking about. cigars definitely comes before owning chairs.
lol!
😂😂😂
This is amazing. I've alerted my wife that this is coming in our yard!
Hell yeah! I hope your #cigartent comes out great!
Wow. That's awesome. I've seen a lot of these lounges on the streets of Los Angeles. Lots of people smoking together too. Not sure if it's all cigars.
Can you send a pic?.been think of a Tent
Enjoying this video in my insulated ice fishing tent in Pennsylvania! 32F outside but 65F inside!
absolutely brilliant.

-40C. Or for Americans -40F with windchill. I ain't smoking anything for a bit
I made my wife watch this video. It's what she needed to see in order to OK the attic conversion to a cigar lounge.
Was it she felt bad you'd be out in a tent or she didn't want that ugly shit in the backyard? Trying to see what angle I should play lmao
Used to use a pop up ice fishing house with propane heater and Christmas lights on the back deck. Have a heated shed I use now. Tim, you'll have to come up to Bemidji for a -30° cigar outing.😁 My friend, Lee, says he has put out the invitation to you.👍

just put stuff on my xmas list to do this RIGHT before i saw this video. cant wait! sick of being cold while smoking!

Us people in New England “50° is shorts weather how’s it do on the typical 14° day?” 😂
Man up! I've been in my Carhart jacket, in a snow storm, and smoking a stick. Seriously, I would be careful with a heater inside a tent.
Take it from a retired Firefighter.
Nice. I already own all that stuff but the heater. I might try it out.😁

Just use extension cords
I remember taking a class at my local firefighter department and saw the horrible fires that caused! This is a comment I can agree with
Tim, I live in Illinois and a tent isn't going to beat this cold. I do have a heated garage, that is finished. I purchased a rabbit air 2, to address the smoke. Same, some of these comments got me in stitches.
one of our member use Ice fishing tent with 3 heaters to smoke lol
If you live in a colder area, ice fishing tents are amazing.
If you don't have chairs, you sholdn't be buying cigars. LOL Words to live by.
lol
I've got a $700 Kodiak canvas tent that you can put a stove pipe through lol. It's for 95 mph wind too. Wonder if I should put it up 🤔
My recommendation is to spend all your money on a good heater that heat a space bigger than what you have, like the propane powered dyna glo convection heater. I will post a couple of pictures on the Facebook group page

Enjoying this video in my kitchen, tv on stove with the exhaust fan on smoking a Montecristo white series.

It’s prob 55 out snd your in a winter hat n coat lol in NY it’s 55 we’re in shorts and tank tops 😂😂 Tim is the Goat tho! Best of the best
Playing hoodie from Cigar Daily, it’s a mental health holiday. Have fun.🏆

Great video, but a big ol Midwest facepalm for saying that just under 50 is cold. You should make a video trying to make one for sub 0 temps!
Too funny, I guess when you have to smoke a cigar and you have no other option that would do it!!!
Tim, you are the true Cigar Aficionado.
I've been in my garden shed here in Northern Michigan. I have a "my buddy propane heater and it was 18 degrees this morning. The heater works well and might be hitting 50, but it's still cold. When the single digits hit, I might be reduced to cigarillos and frostbite.

Tim, discuss disposal of a cigar after letting it die with dignity. I assume it's "make sure it's out and throw it in the trash."

Yeah, in Canada that's more like under $600. Also in Canada it's also -20 degrees Celsius. I wish I lived in the USA.
What might be a little more expensive than a tent but a lot warmer would be to use a pop up ice shanty they make models that are insulated as well
Especially a hard wall one.
It's cramped but I enjoy it

straight up!!!
I really enjoyed this video brother, I live in Vancouver, BC..Still smoked inside..sue me!
I just go out to my shed in the back yard. Protected from the wind, still warm inside and I can sit and enjoy a nice tabak cigar with a café con leche
With the heater I'd worry about CO. But the ventilation would hopefully counter it.
Smoking outside in a tent with a heater? Lol. I sit out in much colder. (North Tennessee) I enjoy the 50 degree temp!!
no chance this would work in any place that actually gets cold lmao .. i just smoke in -15C or colder even with my winter gloves and russian hat , good jacket and some layers .
With that flimsy nylon and mesh sides I can't see it's possible to stay warm. I just smoke pipes when it's really cold, clench it in my mouth and keep my hands in my pockets...
Thanks for demonstrating a cheap and easy solution. Although I chuckle at that space heater trying to warm someone in actual freezing conditions. 😅
yeah, I agree. The setup I came up with wouldn't likely work if it got too cold. But I think the space heater is a good solution if you got a really good tent. Seems like some people in freezing areas use the Eskimo tents, and then a space heater seems to work pretty well even when it's really really cold.
Even still I like the ideas and it proves it is a workable solution without breaking bank. Anything to advance the cause!
As much as I hate smoke in my house and hate risking dropped ash in my vehicle, and as much as I kind of dislike cigar bars, I'd rather go to the cigar bar in the wintertime than smoke inside a tent.
What were you puffing on in this video? Looks like a bigger ring gauge than you typically smoke on the channel.
My eyes and ears are bleeding. Cigars are classy and this guy suggests smoking inside a tent in your back yard. This is so so low class, Im out of words. Horrible.
I enclosed my back porch on two sides with luan plywood added two bathroom fans and an infered heater. I'm Pa works from turkey day to march
from philadelphia... my basement is my lounge lol, air vent on the window blowing air out only when smoking i click it on.
“if you don’t have chairs, you shouldn’t be buying cigars.”
agree to disagree 😂
This all sounded good. Till I remembered snow and Temps well below freezing if not sub 0 are factors for me lol
50s I'm outside in a tshirt lol
Smoking a Punch gran puro Nicaragua 6x54 in 40 degrees on the back deck
50 degrees is not cold. There is no way that would be warm when its below freezing. Get an ice hut and small exhaust fan
I just found this same tent on sale for $59….got the tent, heater and a fan for $109. Budget lounge #cigartent
@cigarsdaily And the snow load rating for that structure is? LOL!
U saw once in a British Garden magazine ...a kind of a wooden big barrel to sit in. A garden smoking hut.
Just be careful with the tent you buy.. not all of them are flame resistant
why doesn't your customer support on your website email customers back?
Issue I would have is leaving the tent up all winter with the strong winds we get here. And 75 min set up isn’t good as a pop up as needed kind of as needed.
After seeing this video I just happened to think you might can use a pop-up winterized ice fishing Hut
No solutions currently, but the wood stove should definitely be incorporated.
I'm having to use my basement to have my cigar. I would love to make a cigar lounge
That tent wouldn't do much in - 31f weather. Good idea but definitely not going to work in the great white north.
Now I know what all those tents are in the park in chicago, they are just outdoor cigar lounges!
You could put a electric blanket on your chair and sit on the heat blanket as well as having your heater going
I began to suspect that this wasn't the video I was looking for when he speculated being done in one evening.
the tent instructions should be sewn inside the storage bag
Here in Northern BC Canada where we get to -40 Celsius I use a large ice fishing tent with a propane heater lol
This won’t work in Canada….We need an ice fishing shack lit on fire to stay warm lol
A pop up tent would make the setup even easier. Gazelle tents make some great pop ups. Literally takes 2 minutes to setup.
Great 👍 video 🙌⚡️👍👏thank you
Eek! The fire hazard alone would scare the living heck out of me
Spending a month at my parent’s place in south Florida 😂
Up here in Canada once it drops below 10 degrees C. my cigar season ends.
I'm not sure that will work for me. Its -20 outside for me.
U can tell this is for a southern winter. This would never hold up in Wisconsin
Wait, just under 50deg outside? Come on bro!
This is a super awesome video! Great stuff, Tim!

Winter... Smokers worst enemy! 😜
Lol.
