Father Ted is amazing, & holds a special place in many peoples hearts, especially as there will never be a chance for them to return. The actor Dermot Morgan who played father ted died at only 45 ONE DAY after filming the last ever episode. He was an amazing actor & comedian & will be forever missed. Its amazing that you guys react to these. xx
One of the best comedies ever made. Father Dougal appears as the stupidest priest and his part is played by the actor Ardhal O'Hanlon. We have a serious TV show here in the UK called Mastermind. It's a tough general knowledge and IQ test. A few years back we had Celebrity Mastermind where famous people appeared. Ardhal O'Hanlon won the competition about six points ahead of his nearest rival. It takes a wise man to play the fool.
that just makes me think of Mrs Doyle: "he was always such a happy man like fat men often are" Ted: "he killed himself" Mrs Doyle: "well, I guess that's often the way with fat men, they laugh to hide the tears" don't hate on me if I didn't get the quote exactly right, its been several years!
I don't think anyone has mentioned the scene when Dougal is asked to a funeral service. He began by saying "Dear friends, we are gathered here today to join this happy couple in holy matrimony". Later ,the hearse is seen upside down and on fire outside the chapel.
Great clip. Had an exchange at work today. One of the lads was dropping a pallet and said "mind your toes" to which I shot back "wipe your ass, blow your nose." One of the other guys looked up and said "Embrace the Suck" "You watch them on RUclips?" "Yeah, they're f**king brilliant"
This programme is iconic. When this first appeared, I thought it was the funniest show ever. As I got older, I see repeats on our late UK TV - and still roll around with laughter. I had to comment as this was my all time favourite Father Ted moment. I still cry with laughter when I see it. Genius.
Thank you for watching more Father Ted ❤️ Father Ted is the main priest, Father Dougal (the priest who he was walking with at the beginning) is the simpleton and the priest left in the children's nursery, Father Jack, is constantly drunk and abusive 😂 they also have a housekeeper Mrs. Doyle who loves tea. Maybe watch Mrs. Doyle's best scenes next or if you want to watch a full show then there's not one you won't be disappointed with.

Back in the 90s, I knew this Irish guy who hated Father Ted - said it was a British plot to undermine Irish society. Was that a common opinion in Ireland back then?
@@thadtuiol1717 How old was he? A certain older generation of brainwashed catholics should have been much more offended in it than they were. Turns out they mostly have a good sense of humour and recognised just how close to the bone it was. There have been real incidents in the priesthood since, that have practically mirrored episodes of Father Ted. An episode with one guy siphoning off parish funs to go to Vegas (the money was only resting in his account), and another episode with a priest getting caught doing cocaine which was similar in many ways to the two that took Cyanide in "Are you right there Ted". Some of the clips with Father Jack, the abusive drunk of the crazy 3. He's hilarious. Also the housekeeper Mrs Doyle and would you like a cup of tea is great. Fantastic reaction guys
A great parody of war movies! Father Ted is brilliant. Sadly only three series were made, because Dermot Morgan, who played Ted, died shortly after the third series. This was from their Christmas special. The writers went on to make the equally crazy "Black Books", which is also definitely worth a look. And yes - complete episodes!!!
The actor who played the young scottish priest has been in a lot of big tv shows and movies since this and if you've ever play COD:Modern Warfare 2 and 3 you'd recognise him as the voice of Soap

Love Father Ted and this is my fav episode ever! Watching you two laughing so hard made me laugh even more - absolute classic - well done guys, so funny! 😂
One of the reasons Father Ted was so beloved when it came out was that it made fun of things in small town Irish society, especially in the priesthood. At the time Ireland was at the tail end of being probably the most conservative Catholic country in Europe, and one of the most socially repressive societies in Europe. So making fun of the priesthood was so unbelievably controversial, that people just couldn't get enough of it.
Father Ted hits that level of surrealism that meets reality and biting satire, just like The Simpsons early seasons. I hope you react to full episodes.
Father Ted - "Where's Father Jack?" Dougal "Oh, I left him downstairs. There's a special place!" Father Ted "You didn't leave him on his own, did you?" Dougal "No there were lots of other people with him!" = Kiddies play area!
When you said 'Can you imagine me as a priest?' Spencer - it gave me a shock, because yes - yes I can - you are the spitting image of Father Finton Stack - look him up!!
