La de Aragall ha sido, posiblemente, la voz de tenor lírico más perfecta de cuantas han quedado registradas en disco. En la presente grabación en directo tenía 74 años, imagínese cómo era esta voz 40 años atrás.

Admirable el Maestro Jaume! A los 74 con voz plena (destacando su tradicional squillo y belleza tímbrica) y gran inteligencia para cantar. No cabe duda: de siempre un figurón de la lírica. Sin duda uno de los grandes tenores del siglo XX.

Y, con la evidencia disponible, de la Historia.
Extraño caso: un hombre que a los setenta y tantos canta mejor que a los cincuenta. Y, de paso, mejor que prácticamente todos los tenores actuales.
Durante su carrera estuvo limitado por la medicación que tuvo que tomar para tratar sus nervios , si no hubiera tenido que medicarse es imposible saber dónde hubiera llegado...

Amazing! No wonder the "Big Three" admired him so much! I saw his Met debut as the Duke in Rigoletto. and in Esclarmonde with Sutherland. He cut such a romantic figure that some, perhaps,took his glorious voice for granted. He sounds great for a man half his age. I old was he when he retired and why?
He always had stage fright and other physical and psycological health issues so his career was irregular and short. When he sung well he was the god of tenors but most of the times failed. He "officially" retired in 2001 but in fact the big houses sort of "retired" him in 1982, when he had to cancel over 40 times. He was no longer a "reliable" singer so they simply forgot him.

Dove stonano? Lui in particolare ha un'intonazione ottima, soprattutto considerando l'età (qui dovrebbero essere 74). Lei magari è un po' corta per Santuzza, ma credibile e meglio di tanta roba che si sente in giro. E, infine, non dimentichiamoci che è un concerto di beneficenza e qualche cosa si può anche perdonare

Q pena q por una vida desordenada, tuviera un declive vocal pronto. No me refiero a esta grabación, en la q ya se nota lógicamente el declive, me refiero mucho antes. Tenía una voz verdaderamente hermosa.

¿A qué rato chingaron al canto lírico?
Cuando yo vi a Álvarez en el Liceo, era un buen tenor, Cura era un tenor y Kaufmann es un mediocre producto de marketing. Aragall ha sido uno de los mejores tenores de la Historia. Sin duda, la voz más bella de todas

Entrambi però stonano spesso.
Stonano specialemte Santuzza. , pecato ha voce magari no per Santuzza. e perche nessuno invito per cantare lola.. ?.
Aragall fue un gran tenor, pero muchas veces lo traicionaba su temperamento. Los colegas no tienen nada que ver. es un problema de personalidad. Hay un señor que padece una enfermedad, el antidominguismo, que lo obnubila y en su incomprensible odio (o envidia?) afirma que PD le quitó escenario a otros tenores. El público no es sordo. No hay que menospreciarlo.
Usted si que tiene una enfermedad, a mi no me han expulsado de ningún foro como a usted, vieja bruja, que defiende lo indefendible. El bueno de Jaime tenia problemas eso lo sabemos, como también sabemos quienes han sido los mafiosos de la opera durante muchos años. Mefistofeles está a punto de llamarla.
I do not know anything about what you are talking about, but if Aragall thought so, I must tell you, it is also my opinion, that the so called "3 Tenors" have permanently ruined the serious art of opera with their narcissistic needs. Aragall was never happy to bask in the admiring crowd. And at this times it started, that the audience got really deaf and began to confuse theatrical exaggeration with good singing. If you are not deaf, listen to good audio-recordings of Aragall, then good ones of Domingo, then, Aragall and good ones of Carreras, then Aragall and good ones of Pavarotti and you will hear the difference.
Don´t take bad ones, neither of Aragall nor the others. Take audios, not videos, most people today hear with their eyes - the reason why Netrebko and Kaufmann got famous...
But all this has nothing to do with diseases like severe depressions, which have nothing to do with "temperament". Don´t mix up apples with cucumbers and potatoes...
