- 1. I didnt include Quake Live since its pretty much the same as Quake III Arena. I also didnt include Quake Champions, because fuck Quake Champions.... besides, there is already video about it, so why bother.
2. There were some complications here and there. Most of them are solved but there are still some i couldnt fix. Like that Quake III Arena doesnt have widescreen, or that Quake IV has low quality textures even when i set everything in video settings on max... And the bloody sound bug that comes with Lightning Gun there... Ugh.
3. I did not include some of the weapons (I always tend to miss something ffs) like the mentioned Grappling Hook (Because i did not knew of its existence) or Napalm Launcher (because the maps that were including it always crashed), so please excuse that.
Quake: the universe where nails are apparently equal or more effective than bullets.

iirc the manual of quake 1 establishes they're huge armor piercing slugs not unlike bolts from warhammer 40k, just not explosive

I imagine that cleaning and preparing those guns would be a nightmare...

That Quake 2 machine gun, OH GOD THAT WAS INSANE, Freakin' good weapon
The weapons in the first game are so samey, almost of them are lesser/greater versions of each other except for the unique lightning gun. The first expansion Scourge of Armagon was a little more varied with weapons.

Most satisfying weapon set is Q1, it covered almost every aspect of killing an enemy on a FPS. The silliest weapon was gauntlet weapon of Q3 (my second favorite game). Q2 had no melee weapons and at the time I was really disappointed about that but it had the possibility to throw hand grenades and it was really satisfying!
The Quake 2 Railgun is by far my most beloved weapon in this video. I basically lived on the Lithium rocket and rail only servers back in the good ole days
God I LOVE the Dark matter gun. Moving forward I really hope any future Quake games that come out star it instead of the BFG. BFG is amazing, but that's Doom's ultimate weapon. Let the DMG shine!!
Considering they did not bother to add any kind of ultimate weapon in Quake Champions, I think it's very unlikely. Quake Champions DooM Edition fixed that, but they included BFG10K instead. So... Yeah. Good thing Is that the DMG made its legacy into other DooM mods, So that's something at very least.
That or the plasma cell mode of the lightning gun .
I think balancing in Q1 was "2 same guns but one is stronger"

The SG still had use as it is hitscan and can snipe targets far from the SSG's reach (btw the SSG in Q1 is dissapointing imo, wished it had an increased RoF or just increased DPS in general)
The Nailguns are guilty of this tho I still keep the og one for lower tier enemies
The Rocket and Grenade Launcher I find has different roles, one for range and one for CQB
The stronger gun had the draw back of consuming twice the ammo. So the lesser guns still did have utility.
If those walls could talk: "n7 is coming, and he has all the weapons, and lots of ammo. I'm fucked"
These kinds of weapons need to be added to quake champions as new additions to nailgun, super nailgun, tri-bolt, lightning gun and new additional type like BFG10k and even the chainsaw and proximity launcher even the napalm launcher and dark matter gun and disruptor
Fun Fact: The BFG 10K fires slower in Quake Live than in Quake 3, this may have been done to balance the weapon and/or so you don’t blow your load too fast.
That sounds almost dirty when you put it that way.
@@GuraiMockery There's other changes Quake Live did with the weapons too. Like the Railgun only does 80 damage instead of 125 or something.

Quake III: Has A Gauntlet and can slice people.
Quake IV: Has A Gauntlet similar to previous Quake.
Quake Shotgun comparison:
Quake: Varies into 2 parts:
Shotgun: Shots a small amount of Shells.
Super Shotgun: Shots a large amount of Shells.
Quake II: Varies into 2 parts:
Shotgun: Shots a small amount of Shells.
Super Shotgun: Shots a large amount of Shells.
Quake III: Has regular Shells and can shoot people.
Quake IV: Has reloading into 8 Shells and has 32 Shells.
I love the weapons in SoA and DoE

I liked that the first quake had to do with lovecraftian horror. I don’t like that the sequels are about some alien invasion.
In all honesty? I like the atmosphere And the overall setting of the first Quake. But the sequels have better weapons And the overall feeling From the shooting.

Nice video, and my favorite weapon is shotgun or the double. The Blaster was crazy when it first appeared, because it gives real time light, I spent hours shooting it in distance in dark areas, just to see effect of his light.

DMC is supposed to be similar to quake in as many ways as possible, so most of the weapons are the same
Seems like quake has a confused theme. Weapons lean heavy on modern , while enemies are sword bound with a more medieval side
Well they had different ideas on what Quake wanted to be, hecc it was supposed to be an RPG before getting turned into a FPS
Quake 2 was not supposed to be Quake at all, but another series altogether.
From that point on the confusion was part of the series :)

Too bad you chose multiplayer mode to showcase Quake 4, missing the opportunity to show stuff like the double capacity nailgun or the autotargeting feature, or the mutifire rocket launcher. Or showing the weapons reloading, that being the only Quake where you can reload your weapons
Its meant to be classic Quake showcase, mind you. So no reloading or upgrades. Im sorry, but its my decision.
