Hi! There are a lot of fondue options around the Switzerland part of the trek. We had ours at the top of the hill on day 7: La fouly to Champex. You will see a restaurant where you can fill up or sit down. It was cold when we were up there. The lake is the mirror lake - quite famous on the trail and there are lots of people. It was day 10 for us on the way to la Flegere. My advice is to have a packed lunch and try to find a spot away from the trail close to the lake to avoid the people.
