45 days is boss! Good for you. Truly. If you are an alcoholic, then I care about you. We are drawn together like survivors of a shipwreck. Tomorrow is your 49, right? 100 coming soon. @@iareburgman Yes I am still Sober and just started my 10th month. I did quit weed and booze at the same time. I had withdrawals last for two months. Amazing, right? My swim dropped from 2:04/100 yards to under 1:40 regularly, over 2700 yard swims! Sleep went from a hot mess to 7 hours regular without the use of alarms. I have not been late, sick, or confused since I quit. I also lost 25 pounds. Superpowers for sure. I once heard someone in a meeting say they were grateful for being an alcoholic. This is a person with two decades of sobriety. It blew my mind. I was newly sober. I spent days thinking about that share. I've come to appreciate it. 162 days Sober. My left eye would go blurry, where I would see everything kinda peculated, it was happening on a daily basis and last for hours. As the first few weeks went by, I noticed that it was happening less often. Now it only happens once every 2-3 weeks and the intensity and time is less and less. I had a doctor examine my eye's, he said everything is normal.
I'm 55 days sober. I took it to the brink of my existence again last summer and have long-term damage. Feeling sturdy and strong after deciding to stop drinking 6 months ago. My wife keeps me centered so I can provide.
Day 425. Fatty liver disease is reversed: Praise God. 👏 Helps: zone diet, intermittent fasting 16/8, intentional priority for 8 hours of sleep, workout daily with at least 10,000 steps per day. Do AA Meeting daily at 0700 in person or zoom and keep working steps is a huge help to stay sober for life - one day at a time.
@AcademiaCondorcet Thanks. Day 466 today. Thankfully no cravings. Prayed to God a lot early and still thank Him every day for removing the obsession to use and abuse alcohol. Also did Naltrexone for a few months. Still not 100% sure on that effectiveness... side effects for me were ED and insomnia. As AA says: Stop at all costs. Those side effects are all gone now. Super glad I quit drinking. Literally would have been dead by now.
Day 114. I read Allen Carr and Jason vale books. Both really help with changing ways of thinking. I'm also now very sensitive to smell of alcohol on people's breath... Bleuch 🤢
I had severe vitamin and minerals deficiency. Especially b12 and Thiamine. My brain was not functioning well. Was anxious all the time. To the point i started isolating myself. Tingling in hands and feet headaches etc. Next month i will be 1year sober on my 27 bday. I decided last year to quit alcohol forever. I feel so good now days. Not missing alcohol at all. Still recovering from my severe thiamine deficiency i must say.
@@jdssurf am so sorry about that. Are u using a synthetic one maybe ? I never recommend those kind of supplements. I live in the Netherlands so i use a Dutch brand. But i saw online that there are so many other good ones in America.
I’m sobriety since December 26 2023 You inspire me every single night!!! I literally watch you when I get the urge to drink alcohol and I’m looking forward to 90 days in March ❤ thx so much for the support 👍🏻🙌🏼
After 90-150 days-the urges Start to diminish big time. Whenever I get an infrequent urge these days-I just remember that the 4 Hours of fun Partying on an any given night-aren’t worth feeling like Crap for the following 2 days. Took me 10 Years to finally figure that simple Concept out. Good luck & Stay Sober.
My partner is missing half his teeth as a result of his alcoholism, although this is more of an indirect side effect (poor hygiene, not getting regular treatment, treating pain with more alcohol etc.) When we go grocery shopping we have to keep in mind what he is able to eat.
I was a functioning alcoholic for 15 years drinking all day everyday, ive been mostly sober for 5 months now (ive had a drink on a rare occasion and a couple times ive had half a dozen) and my physical and mental health has improved greatly. I dont even like drinking anymore so staying sober is getting easier and easier. When i do have a drink these days i dont even enjoy it and that just fuels my motivation to stay sober. For anyone thinking about quitting drinking, its 100% worth it.
Hey, I started watching your channel recently and it's helping me a lot since I decided to stop drinking. I was drinking a 12 pack of beer pretty much every night.
You don’t really worry about the Health part until it comes to your health.. i’d hate to see anyone lose 25 years of life because they were drinking.😢😢

What happened to you at 11:23 also happened to me at one point and I had to phone call my brother in tears telling him that I was about to die of a heart attack, took me to the ER and fortuntately wasn't the case. I was ashamed of my heatlh being so screwed at such a young age of 26 and now that I am 27 and been on a fitness/sobreity journey for roughly 8 months the changes in my life have been so positive I'm a totally different person from when I was alcoholic, chubby and depressed.
Alcohol Companies are exactly like Drug Cartels. They make Billions of Dollars selling a highly addictive product-and each time you come back for another taste-you’re handing them some more of your Money. Best part about being Sober is no longer continuously handing over my Cash to these Bars & Liquor Stores & Alcohol Companies. Good Luck & stay Sober.
Favorite channel on YT. I look forward to every single video. You're the best help I've ever had in getting sober. It's up and down. Went 5 days last week, gunning for 7 days this week! Thank you for this Jae. Seriously bro, you're saving my life.
I’m binge watching these again because I took a detour. I went 30 days without drinking, then 107 days. Today was day 1 again. I’m glad for this community. ❤
Sober is a medicine. sober 3 years , but... I had a relapse of 3 months due to feel good time, like enjoying the sunset with nature and birds singing and no stress, Wine came back just like that with ...with some of the finest weed available. 1,2,3 one bottle maybe 2 , many spliff later, it was just nice. I perhaps forgot to eat many times. Anyway i am a cyclist and i saw how it did affect my breathing, sweat and stamina power, my head was in vertigo most of the times. I did stop everything as i started to feel my kidney with pain hurting me and my heart muddy. Specially in the morning. Sober again, my blood and saliva are back to super clean, God thanks I thought i will never get back that willpower. Not interested with poison, even if it does have fancy Labels. The wine o clock every hours is Gone, no carving.
In December I had a health scare. I'm 35 and I go through severe withdrawals if I drink. I went cold turkey and had this extreme pain in my stomach. Turned out to be a Large Hiatal hernia. Good news is that my consumption went WAY down. I've drank twice since. Used to drink every day. Heartburn is gone because I've been taking the stomach meds. Erectile Dysfunction went away too. 🎉
Well, the good news is that the body is designed to heal. but of course it can't heal if you don't take the poison out and you don't give it better building blocks! Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing from you... 9 months sober!
Today is my sixth month sober and I cannot feel better. This sobriety journey is being amazing. I do not miss drinking alcohol and I have found, here and in my AA group, an amazing comunnity of great people. I think the Universe has blessed me! All my love to all of you!
I still keep relapsing everytime i drink i watch these style videos but gosh damn is this hard i wish i never took that first drink so many health issues i just cant wait until i can finally maintain sobriety
@@GettingSoberAgain AA was awesome i accidentally went to the wrong meeting at first but i was so taken aback by how genuinely nice everyone is i know i will beat this now thanks so much again for the inspirational you truly saved a life!
Thanks for all the great videos! FYI - I haven’t heard you talk about alcoholic lung disease. It seems that alcohol can have a pretty harmful effect on lungs and potentially makes COVID more dangerous for heavy drinkers.
I love this video. I've watched it more then once. It really assures me to continue my journey. I want all the things back I lost to alcohol. I'm on my way to all the benifits from living alcohol free.
Day 2 again here.....but I will NOT quit quitting! My fall from grace was pretty small: I had about an ounce and it gave me a headache later - so not worth it! It has been easier to avoid alcohol since I started the carnivore diet. I think because I am better nourished. I feel grounded and balanced and somehow more solid. Another really sobering video, Jae, you are on fire in your new location!
We've been taught to believe that alcohol only effects the liver when in fact, it damages so much more. This information needs to get out more. Instead, we got the promotion of red wine being good for the heart causing more women to become regular wine drinkers.
Your vids have been beyond helpful. I mean that most sincerely but unfortunately with a heavy heart. I know many of us have fallen off the wagon, but I seem to fallen beyond that, into the doldrums. I have a career/job/trade that is very satisfying (although I admit I have called in "sick" (hangxiety) way more than I would like.) I wholeheartedly apologize for making a long question longer, but how do you deal with boredom drinking? My story runs much deeper, but I thought I'd start with this question. Health and joy to you and those you hold dear☀️
Boredom is simply a consequence of not challenging yourself to do more. In all of human history, there is more to do now more than ever. there are more hobbies, and recreational events at our disposals. there are apps like MEETUP to find people in your area who had similar interests. Is your fitness is good as it can be? is your home in order? are you as tidy and organized as you can be? is your pantry free of expire items? do you still have clothes in your closet that you haven't worn it 2+ years that you could donate? what services are you paying for that you could be learning to do on your own? in what ways are you not self sufficient yet? are you caught up with your home repairs? how's your lawn? your garden? what's on your book list? what friends have you lost touch with ? what family members might want to hear your voice? what good deeds can you do? what charitable organizations can use your hand or donations? This concludes my answer to: Boredom drinking Thank you for attending my TED talk 😉
Curious if i massively cut back drinking will neuropathy go away? Or do I have to quit completely? I definitely have numbness in my arms that's making it hard to sleep since forever now
people have definitely reported a reversal in arm and leg tingling and numbness after quitting alcohol. check out this video: "When will my health improve after quitting alcohol" ruclips.net/video/XZrn5qLhZFs/видео.htmlsi=toVxK-gpZeobhp7a
I'm wondering if any type 2 diabetics out there are experiencing increase sugar levels since sobriety? I'm 55 days after decades of binge drinking and I'm 71. When I drank, my levels remained in a normal high range, with a lot of meds plus insulin, now it's abnormally high. I've never been honest about my drinking to my doctor(s) so proper info is probably skewed. Any thoughts???
I admittedly know little about being a diabetic, and I hate to ask a dumb question: Are you monitoring your sugar/carb intake? I ask because a lot of people quit drinking but pick up snacking, especially sweets... a lot of people crave sugar after getting sober as well.
Iv giveing it up 8 months it’s afull I hate it 40 years off it I m better now eat and walk better now god it is poison but I loved it I once alone a time. Never taught I’d give it up ever now Biut I have and I’m so glad now it’s changed my life for the better. I pray who ever needs help I’ll send yu blessings tgst yu do stop it dies work only if yu want two god bless everyone good luck❤
Try this out: When we ask God for assistance, what if God is there with us? So if we are WITH God, are we going to do what we are asking for help with? God is there...WITH you. Watching. So, in those times of temptation, simply try this mantra "I am with God", like you're walking into a VIP party and you're God's +1...Say it with confidence! know that you belong in that exclusive room and that exclusive company of sobriety and that God opened the door for you. I AM WITH GOD!
So I was drinking alcohol heavy and I will buy big bottles of pink Whitney and Long Island iced tea but I went to the hospital and found out I had gastrointestinal disease And I was still drinking after that and then will mess up my inside with my throat but now today I’m definitely quitting drinking. It’s not worth bad health and a early death I refused to go out like that
Guess what the circumstances were that lead me to starting to take this channel seriously? I Lost my dad to cancer, lost my relationship of 7 years. It's time to rebuild, not to sit in the ashes and the rubble of your self destruction 💪
@@Shelly3g That's why we have been re-uploading some of these old bangers. A lot of people only stay with the channel regularly for about 2 months from my observation. They either came in late and didn't see the early stuff, or maybe disappeared and then came back and missed a big chunk. The new location is great! Better weather, happier people, more abundance and BETTER DESSERTS 🤣🤣🤣 We checked out this place called Tous Les Hours Bakery over the weekend. OMG DROOL
I keep going like a week or two then mess up on a Saturday feels crappy starting all over really trying to figure this out those dam special occasion 1-2 drinks are killing me
I have developed numbness in my feet in recent years and never made the connection. Good chance it is due to my alcoholism since I’ve been drinking for almost 20 years!
A true ketogenic diet helped my anxiety enough to get off of alcohol. Although I’d stopped in the past, being in ketosis made day one a lot easier. Chugging along now with a new mission of reclaiming health. Daily walks with weighted vest, diet on point and occasional full fasting days. Jae is the GOAT of sobriety content, I can’t express my gratitude enough. I forgot to track it 🥴 but I believe I’m on day 10 approximately.
Sometimes i have 2-3 weeks straight without drinking, but i dont really notice any effects... Although, i should admit if i drink moderately next day or two are not productive at all. I am a moderate drinker, moderately exercise, in better physical shape than most of my age people, but depressive mood and lack of energy are real problems. PS have a buddy, my age, who quit 10 years ago. Overweight, depressed, lacks energy too...
How do you think your body would respond with consistent healthy diet and consistent exercise? sobriety is only a singular tool, but there are many factors that will influence overall health and mental well-being as you know
Ten weeks into the fully sobriety journey and feeling less bloated, more alert and less lethargic. And I only had a few drinks every few weeks for the last couple of years and on vacation
Over 3 months sober and I feel like the honeymoon phase is over but I’m still noticing some benefits most being the relationship I have with my spouse.

Nobody said "I want to be an alcoholic when I grow up". and a friendly reminder: you're more than that. But it's up to you to prove that you're sick and tired of being sick and tired. it's time to stop being predictable. know it's going to be different for a few days, and for a few weeks...but it all gets easier. it's time to stop being the victim and start being the hero of your own story.

Helps: zone diet, intermittent fasting 16/8, intentional priority for 8 hours of sleep, workout daily with at least 10,000 steps per day.
Do AA Meeting daily at 0700 in person or zoom and keep working steps is a huge help to stay sober for life - one day at a time.
Praise GOD!
Bleuch 🤢
8 months sober and I’m doing so much better. 💪🏻💥
Yeah you are! What do you have planned for the big first year? Bahamas? Jet ski? New windows?
@@GettingSoberAgain
Something nice for my horses and maybe a trip with my kids….😌
I had severe vitamin and minerals deficiency. Especially b12 and Thiamine. My brain was not functioning well. Was anxious all the time. To the point i started isolating myself. Tingling in hands and feet headaches etc. Next month i will be 1year sober on my 27 bday. I decided last year to quit alcohol forever. I feel so good now days. Not missing alcohol at all. Still recovering from my severe thiamine deficiency i must say.
The body is designed to heal, and with the proper diet and supplements, you will continue to rebuild your previously sinking ship 💪
hey so what exact thiamine are you using, every time i take it i feel like it makes my feel awful, achey and fatigue, thoughts?
@@jdssurf am so sorry about that. Are u using a synthetic one maybe ? I never recommend those kind of supplements. I live in the Netherlands so i use a Dutch brand. But i saw online that there are so many other good ones in America.
@@Amber_sea989 if you can name any of the ones online for me that would be cool, did you just type in natural thiamine?
I’m sobriety since December 26 2023
You inspire me every single night!!!
I'm happy to know we are spending so much quality time together. Don't forget the healthy snacks for our RUclips and Chill sessions 😉
3 years sober and I’ve never been healthier!
You're a real MVP 🏆
My partner is missing half his teeth as a result of his alcoholism, although this is more of an indirect side effect (poor hygiene, not getting regular treatment, treating pain with more alcohol etc.)
When we go grocery shopping we have to keep in mind what he is able to eat.
For anyone thinking about quitting drinking, its 100% worth it.
day 7 bro! how ya doin, keep it movin! !
Wassssaaaaaap!!! Happy day 7 👏👏👏
Geezus the Nerve damage one hit hard. My legs and hands would just go numb out of nowhere, then brutal pins and needles. Thanks for these videos
When we know better, it's our job to DO better 😎
Hey, I started watching your channel recently and it's helping me a lot since I decided to stop drinking. I was drinking a 12 pack of beer pretty much every night.
These videos help me a lot, stick with it man.
That's a lot of calories!!! I hope you like wardrobe shopping lol
OMG, I am having a love hate 6:33 relationship with this vid. So informative and the road I’m on.

I have all of these issues!!!
I didnt want to watch this but I did. I cannot say I am glad I did, but I know I needed to, so I did.
It’s all by design isn’t it. The glorification of alcohol is so damaging. I started over on new years Jai and still going strong. Cautiously optimistic! Great content as always

hello Jae. Have a pleasant day
Thanks you too 🥰
What happened to you at 11:23 also happened to me at one point and I had to phone call my brother in tears telling him that I was about to die of a heart attack, took me to the ER and fortuntately wasn't the case. I was ashamed of my heatlh being so screwed at such a young age of 26 and now that I am 27 and been on a fitness/sobreity journey for roughly 8 months the changes in my life have been so positive I'm a totally different person from when I was alcoholic, chubby and depressed.
You are your own hero 🤛
I like this new chapter in the book of your life! I can't wait to read more 😻
Alcohol Companies are exactly like Drug Cartels.
It's time to start investing in the company of YOU!
Favorite channel on YT. I look forward to every single video. You're the best help I've ever had in getting sober. It's up and down. Went 5 days last week, gunning for 7 days this week!
Thank you for this Jae. Seriously bro, you're saving my life.
NOICE! Maybe we will cross paths someday when you're mega successful and famous 😉
I’m binge watching these again because I took a detour. I went 30 days without drinking, then 107 days. Today was day 1 again. I’m glad for this community. ❤
What was the big event that was worth such a high price?
Sober is a medicine. sober 3 years , but...
I had a relapse of 3 months due to feel good time, like enjoying the sunset with nature and birds singing and no stress,
Wine came back just like that with ...with some of the finest weed available.
Schwing!
Is #1 true if you quit drinking? I'm 40 and am almost 8 months sober. I hope I have more than 10 years left.
It's a good feeling to be aware of how blessed you are, isn't it?
I still keep relapsing everytime i drink i watch these style videos but gosh damn is this hard i wish i never took that first drink so many health issues i just cant wait until i can finally maintain sobriety
Keep watching, keep up with your program, keep yourself busy, and KEEP YOUR MONEY! 💪

I didn't get sober until I was almost 40. You a real one 😉
1 month and 2 weeks here!
That's how it's done!!!
Thanks for all the great videos! FYI - I haven’t heard you talk about alcoholic lung disease. It seems that alcohol can have a pretty harmful effect on lungs and potentially makes COVID more dangerous for heavy drinkers.
COVID is still a serious problem. So many people are acting like it just "went away".
After getting 2 DUI I stopped drinking cold turkey. It's been 7 years now.

I love this video. I've watched it more then once. It really assures me to continue my journey. I want all the things back I lost to alcohol. I'm on my way to all the benifits from living alcohol free.
A common denominator with many friends and relatives who died prematurely was cigarettes and alcohol.
I’m working on day 8! Every metric of success for me is getter better by the day!

Does the numbness go away? First day alcohol free
I have nearly all of that and I only associated the heart burn with alcohol.

I have a career/job/trade that is very satisfying (although I admit I have called in "sick" (hangxiety) way more than I would like.)
I wholeheartedly apologize for making a long question longer, but how do you deal with boredom drinking?
This concludes my answer to: Boredom drinking
Thank you for attending my TED talk 😉
Curious if i massively cut back drinking will neuropathy go away? Or do I have to quit completely? I definitely have numbness in my arms that's making it hard to sleep since forever now

I admittedly know little about being a diabetic, and I hate to ask a dumb question:
Are you monitoring your sugar/carb intake?
I ask because a lot of people quit drinking but pick up snacking, especially sweets... a lot of people crave sugar after getting sober as well.
Iv giveing it up 8 months it’s afull I hate it 40 years off it I m better now eat and walk better now god it is poison but I loved it I once alone a time. Never taught I’d give it up ever now Biut I have and I’m so glad now it’s changed my life for the better. I pray who ever needs help I’ll send yu blessings tgst yu do stop it dies work only if yu want two god bless everyone good luck❤
Try this out:
When we ask God for assistance, what if God is there with us?
A true ketogenic diet helped my anxiety enough to get off of alcohol. Although I’d stopped in the past, being in ketosis made day one a lot easier.
