Entertaining but nothing to do with the Marple written by Agatha Christie. Margaret Rutherford is a wonderful actress but definitely not a 'great Marple'
I love how her technique is defensive moves and using the environment. Fighting smarter. Pretty damn good for a 72 year old who had no training beforehand.
I always think realism in movie swordfights is a nice extra, but not at all a must if it's well choreographed and well staged and filmed. it's only really bad if it's just obvious flailing hidden by closeups and rapid jump cuts.
She was 72 and trained for months in order to be able to do all the sword fight herself without a stunt double. Take that jackie chan. Amazing.
I don't believe it
@@rockydavis94 I do. Great Margaret Rutherford!
Hey there Dustin, quit dissin' Jackie Chan!! He's still amazing 🤩
I was actually entertained by this. She is absolutely mind blowing and to think she was 72!
Miss Marple sword fighting the culprit. I don't think I've seen anything more bizarrely entertaining than this in a detective movie before.
Man does this bring back memories. A great Marple, and the actress I grew up with.

@@Gayalert69 disagree, but we all have our preferences.
That old lady can fight
ONLY Rutherford could take on the killer in a badass sword duel. The one and only real Marple.
"You won't find it as easy as you think!" Goes pretty hard.

She trained specifically so she could shoot these scenes with her actually fencing. Bloody amazing if you ask me!
it reminds me of Ben Kenobi and Darth Vader
Best Marple Movie
My grandad could chop a tree with a chainsaw in his 70's and a log with an axe!
Da hat Sie aber Glück gehabt _👀Mr Stringer!_ Punktlicht wie ein Uhrwerk 🔦✨⚔️
Maybe less accurate than more recent depictions, but it sure is fun.

@@Honsanmai oh, I was not talking about the sword fight, just the Miss Marple character herself. Totally agree about movie swordfights. :)
the one and only
Jon Pertwee's really let himself go
Hey, her parries aren't half bad...
