Fantastic upload, even right from the Very beginning! Makes me miss baseball in the 80s and old County Stadium. Wow....looks like Fantastic Opening Day weather in Wisconsin for early April. I remember being at a few Opening Days where we had snow.
Bob Stanley pitching and Marc Sullivan catching on Opening Day.... I knew the season was lost from day one lol I saw the Sox at Fenway later that season against the White Sox, first in person game at 14 years old. Thanks for uploading this.
Red Sox would wind up being swept 3 straight at Milwaukee to open the '87 campaign, an early omen that '87 wouldn't be as charmed a season for the Red Sox as '86 was.
Can you imagine, after losing the World Series six months earlier after having a two run lead with two outs and nobody on in the 10th inning of Game 6 and then blowing a 3-0 lead in Game 7 to have to get back out there and start a 162 game season all over again? Also knowing that nothing could ever erase that disaster. This is the stuff that mental breakdowns are made of.
Yeah... And the fact they let that OAFISH DOLT Stanely continue pitching is a testimony to some of the most horrendously awful judgement ever seen in the game.
I was there age 13. During Red Sox BP a drunk took a hot line shot right in the head in the left field corner. The Sox players actually jumped in the stands to help the guy. Good times, good times.

Great upload! Good job 👏
Game 1 of Milwaukee's record breaking 1987 season opening 13 game winning streak.

Clemens had walked out of spring training when the Sox wouldn't renegotiate his contract. That put a pall on the season even before it started.
@@ckendall67 I wouldn't call '86 charmed. Cursed would be more like it.
You miss the regular channels , yes nesn but tv38 was our go two game channel
I love how the Sox announcers call Molitor "The Indgredient"...nobody ever called him that. It was "The Ignitor"😆
Referring to Paul as "the ingredient". Wow, just wow.
I Miss County Stadium!
The ‘87 Red Sox season was chilled from spring training when Roger Clemens walked out in a contract dispute.
I was at this game!
This is great - thank you!
I just turned 10 years old! Historic County Stadium Milwaukee Wisconsin

Our future 2004 dart board target third base coach is playing shortstop for Milwaukee...
I believe this was the season where Wade Boggs went gonzo with power. 1987 was his first and only 20 HR season.
WSBK-TV Channel 38 in Boston is now a My Network TV affiliate
It was. But now it is back to being an independant that happens to be owned by CBS.

Did he live?
@Bob31415 Well, I didn't hear any death report on the news that night, so I figured he made it. He was probably back drinking by the 3rd inning.
Gave out frisbees this game
I dodged a foul ball, I was 10 years old ! I didn’t a baseball glove
Remy doing play by play in the late innings
@1:26:52 looks like Buckner is still trying to exercise the demons from the 86 WS outta his head there.
The word is *exorcise*
