That's amazing how the hydrangea cuttings took off! Great job Roxana and it looks beautiful. Such gorgeous boxwood, they are very well maintained! Your garden is lovely and everything is in its place....Thanks for the tour Roxana!
I love my cannas also. Such a easy and rewarding plant. Before first frost I cut them and dig out the roots. Over the winter I’m store them in the boxes in the basement. In February or March I divide them and plant at home in small pots. After the danger of frost I plant them outside. This way I use them for the last 10 years and multiply them a lot.
Have you start them from seed before? I am just considering the work involved in digging and saving the roots, when I can get the same results by just collecting the seeds and starting them the same way a few weeks before the last frost... I also wonder if the "splendor" of the plant from roots vs seeds is different... might be a cool experiment.
@@SoilandMargaritas You are right, digging them from the ground is kind of difficult but I got used to it. It’s worth it for me. I never tried grow them from seeds. I will try this year. At what stage of formulating seeds are you collecting them?
Oh My goodness! It's after 11 PM I need to 😴 I just watched your latest videos and this came recommended (so of course I had to rewatch) but I can't believe how much your garden and style has matured in just 1 year. Stunning
Your garden is amazing!!! Love that coffee cup plant with the mint and your lemon grass and sneezeweed!!!Not much rain where I live (southeastern Pennsylvania). Thanks for sharing🌻🌺🌸🪴
Thank you so much for another great garden video your garden is beautiful I love all your beautiful flowers and plants , Your garden is beautiful and you’ve done a wonderful job keeping it up and giving it lots of love and care thank you so much for sharing it with us. Hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy
Beautiful garden, I always enjoy your videos! I didn't know you could grow Canna from seed will have to try that for next year. Years ago I planted Virginia Creeper on the six foot chain link fence that goes around my back yard. It is very thick, the Japanese Beetles love it! That is the first place they go to. They don't touch my roses or any other plant in my yard. As soon as I see a few beetles I spray all the Virginia Creeper with Beetle gone and tell them to eat up! I sprayed about 2 weeks ago and now I have to hunt high and low to find one. Plant something they just totally LOVE and then when they are on it spray them with whatever you have that kills them.
Bless your heart I can see how much hard work and love you put into your garden. It is magnificent and you do it all yourself. You should be very proud, well done👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The garden is so full and lovely! I really love the way you use pots around the garden-like accent art or furniture. The way you use them highlights the bench or the doorway. So smart! I got so much inspiration from you today. Thank you!
I'm so glad I found your channel a few months ago! I just love the natural setting you've created. I already have implemented some things that you've inspired in my own garden! Love all the plant name references on screen which is so helpful! Love your coffee cups so much! You mentioned loving to water your plants by hand... that to me is the most relaxing thing on earth! I will die some day with dirt under my nails and a hose in my hand ~ for sure!! Choosing Joy ~ stephanie
Your garden is beautiful! Very nice layout. Love what you have done with your Korean Lilacs and your boxwood hedges. And the standard hydrangea that you grew from the stem cuttings is so amazing because it was unintentional; very impressive. I have trouble growing my own cuttings. Congrats on your beautiful garden!!
Thank you so much! I might try to grow some more now that I learned how to do it accidentally, the standard hydrangeas are not cheap and I could use a couple on my property!
I love this part of your garden - using the bench and hedge as a divider for the grass walkway was genius. Can't wait to see what you do here in the future. The vegetable and container gardens are amazing - that tomato arch!! The coffee cups w/ornamental mint so gorgeous. Really a lovely garden. I'd spend more time there, too, just enjoying it.
I love the menagerie of containers. I have the same thing going on. I also have dill growing and have discovered it’s my favorite fresh herb. My plants are starting to go over so I sowed more seed at their base in the same pot and within a week or so the new seedlings are up! I’ll miss them so much in the winter 😢 I would love to know more about the jicama. I really enjoyed buying bags of seasoned jicama during the time I spent in Mexico during a semester of college. That and cucumbers and mango - so tasty!
I might be starting nasturtiums again from seed to see how they do this late in the season. Growing jicama for the first time this year, I have them in containers and I started them indoors early, we will see how they do but I hope to do an update for them later in August/September when I harvest.
Oh my gosh you really have a green thumb your yard is just beautiful every quarter of it is so perfectly manicured thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful garden with us
Hello! New here. Came over from Chicago Gardener. Beautiful garden. I have a townhouse in Ohio where I do mostly container gardening with one large perennial flower bed in my front yard. Nice video!
At gardeners supply they have curved stakes that you can stick in the ground in front of the falling flowers to keep them up off the ground - they sell in packs and I love them.
Such a beautiful, prolific and whimsical garden! 🌱😍💫 I really enjoyed your garden tour Roxanna. I can relate, the japanese beetle have been my most problematic pest so far this summer 😩 I’ve learned that they especially love basil.
Sorry friend, yes... normally, they arrive right when my roses are in bloom, but this year they are super late which is fine... this year they are loving on my cannas a lot :( :(
I love how you incorporated the sculptures into your garden. We created a memory garden last year and something like your lady statue, would be lovely in it. Could you share where you got her? Thanks!
Your 'Coffee Cups' elephant ears is amazing! Mine is about half that size. Perhaps I should bump up the pot size. I heard they grow commensurate to their container size. It was helpful seeing the size of your daisies. I just bought a couple and will plant them soon. I'll need to allow them plenty of space.
This is my first year with elephant ears and I heard the same thing, the size of the container will help them with their mature size, I don't think this container is that big but it likes it here.
Thank you 🙏 for the tour, we’ve been getting a lot of rain in Massachusetts, too and my garden , like yours , is thriving. Your coffee cup elephant ear got nice and big.Where did you buy your boxwood plants for the hedge , were they plugs ? They looked so small when you planted them.
So beautiful but now wait. You were standing under an cattle fence arch. When did that go up? Is there a video.? I saw the one you and your husband built but never saw this. How did you make that so sturdy???? Aw your garden is sensational!!!
I didn't make a video of when I install it, it is 1.5 cattle panels that meet on top, very sturdy, I have T posts (2 on each side) to hold it in place to make it stronger.
