I got a Escape PHEV. The wait on the Rav was crazy, and the Ford was a lot cheaper, not getting the tech pack save $5500, and with 0.5% dealer financing vs 6.4% for the Toyota. My first domestic car and so far really enjoying it.
I bought a 2023 Ford Escape. I'm totally happy with it. You see a Rav 4 like every 5 seconds on the highway. They are like the Kia Souls. I get more looks because you don't see a lot of this generation Ford Escapes on the road.
Wanted a Rav but could only get a Ford. Getting 70 to 75 km in city in summer with Ford. 45 to 50 in winter. Really enjoy the Ford. Hopefully it will stand up over time. Had a Prius and only an accident took it out after 16 years of trouble free driving.
Overall pretty good review, thank you. It might be region dependant, but the Ford Escape (Kuga in Europe) in fact does have rear heated seats and 243hp. AWD is not such a big issue, as I live in the all time flat Netherlands ;) I drive a Ford Escape (Kuga) ST-Line X, full options and that is actually still cheaper than the RAV 4 Prime. There's is a lot of personal preference involved in interior en exterior looks of course. Each it's own... Have a good one.
Yea, packages and options are different between markets & countries. There's even a few option differences between our Canadian market and the USA market.
I did a test of my 2024 PHEV Escape last weekend. 8 C outside temp. Dry roads. No HVAC. Side streets only at 60km/h or lower. Flat terrain. Went 68 km. I considered the RAV4 Prime but getting one would have taken minimum 18 months and would have cost $15k more than the Escape, for lesser equipped model than the Escape that I got. Small infotainment screen. VERY dated design. FUGLY exterior styling (Star Wars fans seem to really love it but gawd it’s ugly). AWD would have been nice, but my test drive in the Escape was in January in Calgary on some pretty crap roads and I could not see any reason to think that AWD would offer any benefit beyond the badge. FWD with winter tires does just fine for short trips around town. Very happy with the Escape. Great value. Thoughtfully designed and well put together.
@@MGReviewsBlog more or less. I have the medium trim. Digital rear mirror, upgraded stereo and most tof driver aids but not automatic braking or 360 camera. We have premium but I didn't want it because it has 19 inch rims instead of 18 which give better fuel economy and ride.
Typical biased review from which Ford has to make the best of. You give the highest possible range for a Ford and then add another 5k miles to it and then give the lowest range for a Toyota! In reality, this Toyota RAV4 can go over 90km in the city purely on battery power!!!
Interesting comment... It seems like you didn't like the reviewer's opinion so you offered your own biased opinion. That's fine and I believe you. I can even share from my own experience as I own Ford Escape PHEV 2024 and my usually commute is about 52km, 90% of it is highway (no A/C on) during which the battery drops from 90% (I don't charge above 90) to 10-13% (the worst case scenario). The best result I saw so far was a drop from 90%-25% on the same route, which would be equal to something like 80km of electric range.

I've been watching your reviews with great interest! good job!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy my videos!
in ford escape car
someone told me if the car ride for like 30 km or more then that there will be problem arise in transmission is that correct
Good review, perfectly explained.
Glad you liked it!
i got lucky and found a rav4 prime xse in the color and trim level I wanted. The lease incentive (in the us at least) is what pushed me over the edge.

A similar review between Rav4Prime and Mitsubishi Outlander Phev please !
Noted! I will attempt that if I can get my hands on an Outlander again.
@@MGReviewsBlog Thank you so much
I got lucky in 2023 and bought Rav4 prime just walking in and buying car they had on floor. Of course it is easier here in Europe.
Is the Rav4 Prime the same in Europe as it is here in North America?

Without the biggest phev car makers in competition, we must pay more and wait longer.

If you can make the Rav4 Prime (North American spec, not Euro spec) go 90+ km on electricity only, great for you.
