    None of these events can be replicated because they were done by specific individuals. Many of us expected a list of events that are at least theoretically able to happen again, this is a really misleading title.

      Loman I wouldn't be so sure of that considering that people can be prematurely born. Technically speaking, they're considered minus 1 month old or so, depending how premature they are. So, using your logic, if every single person born were to be birthed after the full term of 9 months then yes, you would be correct.

    Please check your facts and texts before putting them to video. The fall of the Berlin wall had nothing to do with WO II it happened in 1989 when West- and east germany where united. The Berlin wall did not even exist in 1944-1945. The soviet union attack led to the fall of Berlin...

      Technically the iron curtain dropped in 1945, which the Berlin Wall is a more physical representation of the curtain.

    • @Vidable113
      @Vidable113 9 лет назад

      Frank Woods nonononono the iron curtain was a number of eastern european countrys used by stalin as sort of a bufferzone in case of the cold war becoming a real war early on. the "iron curtain" fell with the destruction of the berlin wall in 1989 by the german people and thus marking the end of the soviet union. there was no iron curtain in 1945. the first use of the phrase "iron curtain" was by churchill in 1946.

    5:53 "The Soviet Union played a huge role in the Second World War driving nazi Germany back in an almost uninterrupted offensive which lead to the fall of the Berlin Wall and ultimately the surrender of Germany."
    What? The Second World War ended 1945. Communist occupation of eastern Germany lead to the GDR who in the '60s built the Berlin Wall around the enclave of West Berlin inside East Germany. The Berlin Wall was brought down by Germans following the end of the communist GDR in 1989.

      +Sophie Luvs Books is pointing out what some of us think - Your 'Top Ten' styled videos are examples of some of the best I've seen on youtube. We all enjoy your compact and well read pieces on each topic. This video feels different. Choosing 10 different historical events that differ so greatly made each segment appear as a strange assortment with no incremental level of 'not happening again-ness'. A Top Tens list needs some sense of gradually increasing severity (obviously) - this episode didn't make it apparent enough. Maybe because it isn't possible with this particular topic.

      ***** The premise of the list is that I will _never_ SEE these events...as long as both the moon and humans exist there is the potential to send another person up there to be the new "last" person to accomplish that feat. As long as there are still samples of smallpox in existence there is the potential for other people to be the "last" to die from it... This is a matter of semantics I admit, but none the less makes the title inaccurate.

    I think you missed the point of your own video, lol. Here's a better list in no particular order (you're welcome, why not make a new video?):
    - Hannibal crossing the Alps with Elephants (No one anywhere is likely to try that again!)
    - The destruction of Pompeii (Freak volcano destroying a whole city and preserving it like a time capsule for future generations to uncover)
    - The Chinese/Viking/Columbus (ugh) discovery of the New World (no room left to find a new continent, lol)
    - The surrender of the Japanese in WWII (a militaristic country being forced to surrender a major war because of Nuclear destruction - let's hope not!)
    - The Mongolian Horde (A tribe that controlled more land than any other nation yet was still regarded by many as a barbaric horde more than a country)
    - The invention of the Scientific Method. (An entire culture/industry agreeing to follow strict rules for analyzing the natural world, advancing humans out of the dark ages)
    - The burning of the Library of Alexandria (A huge portion of the worlds most precious science and history all lost in one day)
    - The Trojan Horse? (Fool me once...)
    Okay, I'm running out of ideas off the top of my head but I'm sure there's lots more! Anyone else?
    (Your title implies that the historical event could occur again but is unlikely. Of course we won't see Cleopatra again, but we will see strong female leaders. Of course the D. of I. won't be signed again, but other people will surely claim freedom from oppression. Any one person's life is unique and won't be repeated, but similar events in history tend to repeat themselves. I think a lot of people here expected a list of events and their significance that are truly unlikely to repeat.)

    The dissolution of the USSR was on December 8th, not December 21st and not December 26th as you claim here. December 21st was the Alma Ata Protocol which was an agreement among a few Russian states that they agree to stay together now that the USSR had dissolved. And December 26th was nothing more than Yeltsin making the announcement that he had quit. The country ceased to exist back on the 8th.

  • @fabianhale845
    @fabianhale845 8 лет назад +7

    I'm sorry but let me correct about those Kleopatra facts: 1.) Kleopatra was not exiled due to a struggle with Rome, she fled Egypt because she faced internal opposition from her first brother-husband's advisors. 2.) There is no such thing as Ptolemy XVI, unless you count her youngest son Ptolemy Philadelphus. Only 15 Ptolemaic kings were named Ptolemy, the last one being Kleopatra's eldest son Ptolemy XV Caesar. When you said Ptolemy XVI, who doesn't exist, was poisoned, I believe you were thinking about Kleopatra's second brother-husband Ptolemy XIV. 3.) Kleopatra did not leave for Tarsus because she was in danger, she travelled there because Marcus Antonius summoned her there to answer some accusations against her, and also because she saw this as an opportunity to form a partnership with Antonius.

    Mostly I like these vids, but you (he) need to work on 2 things 1) PRONUNCIATION. MANY words and names are pronounced incorrectly. The one that about drove me crazy was the one about beautiful people wherein you pronounced the soldier "Tejeda" as "Tezheda" throughout. It's a SPanish name, pronounced TeHAYda (more or less). 2) Factual Accuracy (especially if you're going to criticize others on their ignorance.) In this one, about the fall of the USSR there is: "The USSR played a critical part in WW2 ... An uninterrupted offensive leading to the FALL OF
    THE BERLIN WALL and ultimately Nazi Germany." The Berlin Wall?? Wrong war, Dude. Off by about 45 years. Keep up the good work, but edit a little more carefully.
