As a high schooler who doesn’t have a band with members who care much about our music, Cody is 100% right that kids are questioning why we continue to make music. I was planning on quitting this year because I felt as if no one would understand where my love and appreciation for an orchestra could ever be used outside of my classroom. After finding Cody’s music, I’ve grown to embrace and learn music more during my free time. I’ve learned 5 new songs and I’m learning the violin, now planning on majoring in music. With me buying an oboe soon, I am willing to go beyond to further extend my musical career. All I can say is,
Thank you, Cody, for helping people like me find hope in our passions.

As a senior in high school partook the band since sixth grade, i want to say it's band directors like you who opens so many doors of opportunity for students to take, and although I'm not one of those students, I am thankful that band directors like you exist! I Hear A Symphony reminds me of the nostalgia around Hollywood classics from the 40’s; Sailboat feels adventurous, as if you’re actually bobbing on the waves; Photograph feels warm and cozy like a loving home; the orchestral right after Photograph makes me think this is the grand imagination of the character in Photograph wanting to capture the moment they’re in; Caves sounds like an Indiana Jones style adventure, Underground sounds like transcendence, like even though the lyrics are about getting hit by a train in a subway tunnel, you don’t die, you leave your body and become something new and free.

Orchestral music is just timeless. Cody fry your music has the power to make any human feel something. Feels like this is pure music, truly amazing and wonderful that I get to hear both the wonders of the melody from his vocals and the instruments. I usually feel ashamed about being a fan about something or anything for a fact thinking that I would be judged but I would gladly be a fan of you because there is nothing wrong with you and your music. It is so perfect and I can listen to your passion for music. Please don’t stop.

as a high school student in concer and jazz band, this video genuinely means a lot to me. i plan on continueing with music in university (thinking of majoring in composition) and it really sucks just how many people don't support majoring in music because of how difficult it is to "make it." i find it especially difficult since i play alto saxophone, since saxophone doesn't exactly have the most solid position in the classical community. but seeing your videos just brings me so much hope and joy for the future. they make me really excited to be able to go back to school and practice with my band again as well as be able to actually play my instrument in music class again since we couldn't last year. it is also so inspiring to see just how passionate you are about music because i feel the same way. i want the world to see just how special the orchestra is. so thank you. also i can't wait to see what you'll be doing next! (p.s. the graphics/editing are extremely well done, like they're so pretty. good job!!)

@@CodyFry You should try writing for saxophones. You don’t really need to learn anything new. They resemble the human voice and the lower saxophones can imitate strings very easily. You will love this part, altos can be written just like french horns. They hide in the sound and make them sound fuller, louder, and faster if need be. I am a baritone saxophonist in South Carolina who is arranging your arrangement for marching band. Crazy right 😂
I love your music and would love to see some saxophones in a score sometime soon. Thank you for such wonderful music!

I literally have had the exact same struggle as you!!! I recently found this guys music as well and it is super inspirational. I personally have always dreamed of performing in bands and orchestras like this, but I didn't realize that saxophone was so uncommon for these types of things. I'm actually going to college this fall for Graphic Design, but I may change it to music performance anyway. My whole family told me that music was not a safe route to go, but this guys entire symphony session made me rethink that decision. A little cheesy, but I really really love this stuff. I'm glad I'm not the only person struggling with the saxophone thing! xD

I'm a classically trained violinist, amateur composer and songwriter going to school for music production this fall. As a classical crossover artist first in my band but now expanding into my songwriting, what Cody said before Photograph in this video is pretty much exactly my philosophy behind crossover. We aren't just preserving the old stuff - though that has a lot of value - but learning from it and forcing it to evolve with the rest of music, incorporating the old stuff into the new world of music. Thank you Cody for showing me that writing pop music with an orchestra can be done. I follow in your footsteps as I begin my studies and my work.

I only noticed this in my music taste a few years ago but every song I've ever really liked has a pretty full accompaniment of some sort (added digitally, full band, orchestra, etc. etc.). I'm not sure why I enjoy it so much, but it's the one factor that is a constant no matter what genre I listen to (and I'm not a picky listener, for the most part). These songs are just what I need to scratch my brain and it really is a pleasure to listen to.

omg i literally love you and your music cody, i’ve literally been obsessed with your symphony sessions for so long now and i’ve cried so many times listening to it, even being noticed by you would genuinely make me cry 😭😭 right now i play the french horn as a highschooler and have been pretty successful in my career and hope to join a symphony, and this has motivated me so much because i’m not sure if i want to do french horn after highschool. you’re my favorite music artist and your voice is so amazing!!! keep posting these banger albums and don’t stop!! ❤️❤️❤️

this means so much to me, genuinely. i play the viola and find myself going, "i really enjoy this, but if i do not choose a musical career, what is it worth?" and his whole thing about giving the audience a reason really hit home. i dont really get sappy a lot but keep doing what you do cody fry, seriously. it's so genuinely amazing

Oh, this is brilliant! Absolutely stunning! Yes! Let’s bring the orchestra into popular music and make it cool for a whole new generation! 1000% behind this idea!

EVERY time I listen to this whole session straight through, it brings tears to my eyes.
This is beautiful, well-crafted, deeply emotionally connected, and so so much more.
Thank you for sharing your talent and love for music with us.
And DISNEY or another entity/person needs to extent an invite to you for at least something.

I'm suspected to have autism and I can physically feel things when I listen to music.
I swear listening to this music makes me extremely happy and the feelings I get are extremely euphoric.
In Underground for example, I feel how ,when the music climaxes, the energy swells and it bursts into literal feelings of galaxies around me. There's no way to describe the exact feeling of awe and wonder in that music.
It's just incredible. The mounting pressure eventually gives way to this feeling of freedom and rightness, like you've found something you know you were meant to. Everything just clicks.
I love orchestral music for this reason and I love all of these songs :D
