Thanks 👍
Thank you for the lunch break video,,,, good to see you guys...
Thanks for watching!
You did a similar video several years ago. Love the rich history and ruins of Portobello!
Again, very pleasing. Always been pleased with your videos, but something feels way more mellowed out lately. Love It! I regret way back when, when you were anchored off St George in Grenada, I was there too, that I didn’t do a stop by in a dinghy and say hello. 👍
Two stroke outboard incoming 😎👍
2-stroke never.. 4-stroke likely :)
@@SailingSophisticatedLady I mentioned two stroke because of its widespread use in many countries you might be visiting. Availability of parts and ease of repair in remote locations. Too bad the battery motor hasn’t worked out - it sure was fun to watch when you received it and set it up. Cheers 😎
15hp two stroke outboard has been the way to go for years for a fast dingy on a cruising sailboat because of the power and lightweight. The new 4 stokes are getting lighter now. I think Tohatsu or Suzuki 15hp 4 strokes short shaft is around 95 pounds but hard to beat a proven 2 stroke Yamaha Enduro 15 at 85 pounds especially in Panama where they can be bought new at a great price and is #1 outboard in that part of the World.
@@effortlesschoiceelectric has never been and will never be the answer for anything propulsion is needed, boats, vehicles, planes, trains, etc...electric propulsion is junk and a waste of time.
Why not a 2 stroke? Doesn't a 4 stroke add a lot of unnecessary weight and complication?
AHoy captain, it's autumn here in new Zealand. Good to see you sailing again.
Great video, such a beautiful life for you and your family
What a cute kid...God is at play
Sir Francis Drake (El Draque, Vice Admiral of her Majesty's Fleet) (Explorer, Sea Captain, Privateer, Slave Trader, Naval Officer, and Politician)
6 great-granduncle and his picture looks like you Rick ,,,hum I wonder
Hi Rick family and crew. (Pirates) are not good people, they choose a target and do there best to destroy and profit from such, you are no pirate. Had to relate that to you and get it of my chest. Your response and wishing me happy birthday was really appreciated, my reply meant thank you, truly meant and may the gods be on your side. Your no pirate is a compliment.
I agree completely.. nowadays the real pirates wear suits and ties, and carry fountain pens as weapons instead of swords.. 😯
Captain Rick you are a legend! Love watching your videos!
I remember this episode!! Great info and drone shots!!!
I’m a little surprised ya don’t have(or have tested) Forward Looking Sonar😜 Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy 😎
I had that on the boat almost 20 years ago, but it wasn't very reliable.. maybe they have better now but I never see anyone put a focus on it yet
Looking good Captain Rick.
Living vicariously through your videos.
Appreciate your efforts, always great content.
Thanks!
John
Thanks 👍
Rick: if you don't 'have it all' I don't I don't know who does.
É sempre bom voltar e recordar 😜😘😘🥂🙏❤️❤️❤️
Aloha from big island Hawaii lil Richie's on to the camera nice
Aloha!
What a GREAT video!! Loved all of it, SSL is returning to my “must check more often” new post since I don’t go on RUclips as much. If your back more often, so am I!! Absolutely loved this one. 👍👍
I'm hoping to be back MUCH more often... working on it! :)
Awesome as always 👌 Super 🆒️ 👌 👏 👍 🙌
Thank you so much 😀
Another good one. Like usual.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful video. You and your viewers may like To do a search on forbes island Built in Sausalito, CA and anchored out in Richardson Bay for many years. Blessings to you and yours coming at you from Southern Oregon
Finally you can have ''frikadeller'' again ha ha ha ha,- just ask Laura ;-) ;-)
Long time no hear Henrik! :)
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great to see y’all back out on the water having fun. Rick did y’all ever consider making a video titled “ This is not the first child I’ve ever raised “. LOL 😂 I love all the free advice & suggestions. 👍😂🙏🏼✌️
As in, not my first rodeo? Lol
Back at the helm Captain and good to see! The world generally is in peril and, well, I pray you and your family look to and trust Jesus..soon.
Little boy looks fantastic...well done Mom and Dad....great quality vid! Networks will be looking for you!
Poor kid, will never experience the joys of sea sickness
👍👍👍
Comment: Good video, thank you.
I knew that electric dingy would not last. Not worth it when out there. Need power and range. Electric not there yet. Someday maybe, but not today.
yes, someday.. the motors are great, but the batteries have a ways to go yet..
Aw, I love the quiet electric dinghy.
me too, but after 3 years of staying within a couple miles of the boat its time for a change, Lol
😎
The railroad was not invented until 1825. There was no 35 mile railway transporting gold and silver from the pacific side to the Caribbean side in the 1600s and 1700s.
Hay Capitan Rick I am wondering with your extensive experience at sea and testing stuff why you wouldn't have a mast mounted camera to spot bomies and also spot anyone on your boat if your not there?
Four stroke Hondas are reliable and quiet.
😀😀👍👍👍❤
What kind of sun block would you recomend
About dinghy propulsion - have you seen the Wynn's electric OC tender? It's got a jet drive and can get up to fairly respectable speeds.
What about keeping the electric motor as a spare or for quieter journeys to special , natural places ?
yes, respectable speeds but a 20Kw motor with a 10Kwh battery system will only run at planing speeds for around half an hour.. and a 10Kwh battery system weighs almost 200lbs, and that's for a dinghy that only weighs just over 100lbs.. the battery for a 400lb dinghy weighs 700lbs, plus the 150lbs for the motor.. just not feasible for a dinghy.. a fiberglass or aluminum fishing boat maybe, but not a small inflatable boat.
@davidyendoll5903 the Wynn's will also find out their electric propulsion is junk!!
Kids need other kids
Hows the water 🌊
always nice! :)
Man I'm gonna have to start a channel so I can get me some sponsors.
That boat has to weigh 50 tons .... all the stuff on there .😊 looks like the Beverly Hill Billy on the water
I'm First. did the aliens eat everyone else?
I hope not! Lol
Ive been away for a while, what happened to your voice? SV_Epiphany
Wait, @02:25 what has your son got in his mouth? What happened there? Looks scary.
that would be called a soother.. he's still 2 years old, Lol
Did your mic lose it's sock a few days back? There are 15 different words for a flock of vultures, depending on what they are doing. I'm sorry to hear you are getting rid of the electric dingy. I wish you could keep both and use the best one for each use. Can you do like a lot of boats without davits and keep one forward?
what happened to TIKI !!!!!!!!!
You need to catch up on over a year of episodes... better get started! :)
She flew off and never found
Why don’t you invite Aubrey back as crew
Why, do I seem like I need extra drama onboard? Lol
Lmao
Public opinion seems to be turning against electric vehicles.
Running live aboard courses now, ripping people off as you used to do in the BVI
Toddlers should not be on docks without flotation aids even while accompanied by adults. They can fall in in an instant and you might have great difficulty getting them out particularly if you don't know where ladders are in a marina.
there were 3 parents walking with the kids, believe me, nothing was going to happen even if the kids wanted to! Lol
@ leeoldershaw956 . Please don't underestimate the things that people do to keep children safe in that environment, I'm sure you was told dont run in front of a car, like richie knows dont jump in , come on man 😅😅😅
Who the heck do you think you are? Do you realize you are trying to tell a legend how to live his life? As a matter of fact, get a life.
He's lucky to grow up wild
@@bodysnatcher8122 I'm 86 and had a 41 ft cruising sailboat for 29 years. I stand by my cautionary comment.
For duck sake captain, were trying to support you but you keep coming up with this crappy audio!!!! Which is easy to fix and better investment then the orher junk you buy!!!!!
you'd be surprised by what i spend on audio and good mics, wind filters etc.. but in the real world with real wind none of it really matters, unfortunately
so dumb to let them roam on the dock alone! duhhh!
alone..? who do you think was filming? 🤐
Thx Rick!
No worries!
Time passes faster when you age ....I guess working helps stop looking at the watch!...Your little one jusst got born and see him now?...is he 3 now?
