I have a 2007 2500HD Classic Silveado LBZ stock. I have a FASS lift pump. I get 20 to 21 mpg highway mileage in the mountains of Central PA. I get 12 to 13 mpg towing my 8,000 lb. camping trailer at highway speeds - 55 to 65 mph. I have Fluid Film professionally applied annually because these beasts have rust problems. I am very satisfied with my truck. Todays 1500 pickups can come close to work capacity of these older diesel trucks. Newer diesels are real workhorses, but you have emissions equipment and DEF to consider.

I have a 2001 GMC Duramax 3500 Dually, 4x4, 4 door, 8 foot bed and 6 speed manualtransmission. Have had transfer case replaced, throw out bearing twice, clutch and clutch plate, pressure plate and factory replacement injectors. Have gotten 23 mpg when hauling a 2001 Triton TR20 Bass Boat with a 225 hp Yamaha 3.1.

Cool, I have never seen a manual trans duramax! I have an 2007 with the Allison . I get about 15 towing 7-8k several times a week and 19 empty around the metro area. I have gotten 24+ several times when Im down in Texas, Apparently Buc’ees puts magic fairy dust in their diesel 😀 I can never get anything close up here in Colorado.

09 LMM 3" downpipe, 4"exhaust, DPF deleted, EGR still on the truck to be deleted soon, 275/70/16, stock height, unsure about what tune is on the truck.
Took it 400+ miles from OH to DC and averaged 21.7 there and 21.2 coming home. Cruised at 74 MPH most of the time......until 4 boosted rice burners wanted to play on the turnpike on the way home. Probably the reason for the 21.2! LOLOLOL

I have never owned a diesel but would like to one day. I think the Chevy Colorado is supposed to get around 20 to 22 mpg.

I just purchased a 05 silverado 6.6 duramax 2 wheel drive with 62k miles on it. extended cab, 8 ft bed. coming back on interstate from sioux falls to wisconsin on interstate i only got 15 mph. What can I do to get twenty if possible> Thanks

'05 duramax lly 285 tires, everything else stock besides 3" leveling kit. Used to 16 pretty consistently but down to about 14. Bullydog on setting 1 maybe helped 1 or 2 mpg but I wasn't happy getting that! 🙄 MPG could be off since tires are bigger and it is actually calculating less miles than I travel and I am going off the odometer. Won't be a big difference but could be 1 mpg.

I have aa stock 03 LB7 2WD Crew Cab that average 17 mpg. My drives are 50/50 freeway and city streets. 21 mpg is shocking

Same here. 02 lb7, 2wd,4 door, stock tires, no tune and no mods. 18.5mpg (long hand, not using the trucks calculator) and only 10.3 while towing my 21 foot pontoon. Would love to know how these people are claiming higher numbers.

I wonder how accurate the trucks indicated MPG is compared to calculating it by hand.

07 lbz started at 16.7 but for some reason it's dropped to 13, I think the egr is clogging. Planning on a delete.

Little hard to believe, maybe the larger tires are throwing it off. My last LB7 got only 17.7 my current LB7 dually is getting 14.

The dlc isn’t right it’s 2-3 mpg off if you hand calculate it’s going to be 17-18

I get about 13 on my 2003 lb7. With cold air intake, down pipe, 3”inlet pipe, and strait piped. I should get as high as possible I have maximum airflow in and out and have no performance enhancing (put more fuel in) mods. Why is my mileage shit?

Could be your exhaust manifold leaking tml

You can loose 3-4 miles per gallon if you have any boost leaks.
Most of these older trucks have boost leaks unless the owner checks and repairs as needed.
I would get a cheap boost leak kit and start with that assuming you drive reasonably.

2000-2007 duramax have no emissions. Emissions equipment are standard on 2007.5 and up

    • @Brandon68plus1
      @Brandon68plus1 4 года назад +1

The 2004.5 and up have EGRs but the heavy emission equipment starts with the 07.5 where DPF was added.

0:25 "That helps increase the gas mileage alone right there" Uhh...... GAS mileage???? I didn't know your LB7 ran on gas.
