I've had this diplomat for about 4 months now and for hardcore work it is not for that. For casual beating around town and some light work , they're exceptional.
Love mine. Very comfortable and barely a break in period at all. The shallower profile looks less clunky compared to my Danners and the boot works well nearly any style pants or jeans. My redwing Mocs were my favorite but they have been collecting dust lately.
Just got these in the Arizona Adobe. I’m really liking them a lot. I’ve had them on for about an hour, and definitely don’t want to take them off. They do require more break-in on the leather when compared to my Allen Edmonds boots in Chromexcel, but I think that’s just the properties of Chromexcel. The soles are comfortable out of the box.
So, is there a real difference in leather on the Arizona Adobe vs. Burnt Copper? It's hard to decide on which color to get in these since most of their options look good. Sometimes i wish they didn't offer as many colors to make the decision-making easier
The only moc toes that interest me are the RW Roughneck and Sawmill. I'm just here to say congratulations on 10k subs. I'm looking forward to the next year of quality boot content.
Whats the color of this boot? Also which color of the diplomat is lighter the adobe or the burnt copper? Colors on website are a bit deceiving. Thanks for being so informative. Good stuff man
Another great video. As a European, I don't have access to Thursday boots without paying import taxes and fee's, so I have been eyeing the Yanko Moc toes as an alternative to the Diplomat boots. Do you have any experience with Yanko boots?
Yanko is way better then Thursday boots. Meermin is the step above Thirsday and most says so get Yanko instead of Meermin. I am considering ordering yanko moc toes myself. Dont have any experience with yanko personaly. But I have heard great stuff about them.
@@TheFrontyer Ohh this is great news! Thanks for the information. Now I am even closer to pulling the trigger. I just have to sell off a few pair of boots first to make room in the collection.
Rewatching this now that I’ve seen the lugged sole option released on these. Could Thursday compete with the Grant Stone Brass boot for overall moc toe value now? Maybe some RUclips channel will review that? Thanks for the great content 👍
My wife just got me Thursdays Diplomat Arizona Adobe Couple of questions 1.Should I condition them or water proof them? 2. I notice you cuff your jeans on top Some people say DO NOT CUFF some people say STACK YOUR JEANS what hell do I do 👍🏻🤣
1. no. Wear them for a while first, then you can condition. You can ask thursday what they reccomend you do. Theyre very helpful. 2. whatever you think looks the best.
Other than bic 4 what other leather conditioner/cleaner would you suggest. I left my diplomat unchecked for a year and found out lots of molds that left alot of black marks.
If you check my latest video, I have a much better full guide for what you can do to care for Rugged and Resilient leather. It's a lot different than what I recommend in this video
I have the Red Wing Moc Toe boots, and prefer the roomier toe box. The Red Wing toe box breaks in over time, and tends to flatten out. I also prefer the lack of speed hooks, which helps to keep the laces tied. Use slightly longer laces, and you do not need to unlace them more than than the top eyelet to remove them.
review was more of the look not the comfortability or even the weight was not mentioned most people who review thursday boots says more of the look I had the matt black Captain its nice and look sturdy but it totaly wears down your feet from walking and was too heavy
When did all the yuppi millennials start wearing work boots? Why, they’re not being used for actual work. All you’re doing is driving up costs for people who actually do physical labor
Actually the more boots purchased, the increase in production moves prices down. If you went to 5th grade you would have known that. Also, I dress like a yuppie and I can weld, rebuild engines, fix aircraft, fly aircraft, drive truck (flat bed long haul) and do yuppie shit like watch boot videos. If you can’t afford a $200 boot you are not working very hard in life. Imagine being so insecure in your manhood that a boot video triggers you. Unreal.
@@shawndunleavy892 Not to mention the fact that when a work wear company's market share starts increasingly being dictated by the casual consumer, that company eventually realizes that it can produce a less durable product and still fetch the same profit from a less demanding user. Carhartt quality has definitely suffered this 'victim of its own success' fate - to name an obvious offender. Duluth Trading tends to get my business now. Which sucks for someone like me - who tries to make a point of giving my money to a mom and pop brick and mortar shop on a local Main Street somewhere.
@@shawndunleavy892Thursday is not a work boot company. These are boots for walking around the street, not the warehouse or worksite. To be fair, even blue jeans had origins in the American blue-collar workforce (e.g. miners in the Old West wore Levis during the Gold Rush). So by your logic, should we have a problem with say… high school kids wearing denim? Also, as a guy who worked in a full business environment in Manhattan, do *i* get to look down my nose at blue collar guys who throw on a suit for a wedding or funeral? Does it go both ways like that? Should I wear a suit all the time because my occupation says doing so is appropriate while I am in the office?
I think it's better looking than the red wing, the flatter toe box is better proportioned.
I do, too. But I still have mad love for the Red Wings
I think the higher more pronounced toe is exactly why I prefer the Red Wing to others(Bull Runs look great too).
You do know they’re made in China, right?

Yeah Chromexcel Brakes in pretty easy a few months back I got my Dr. Martens and it took no time Doc Martin standards.
Did you size down 1/2 I’m a 10.5 in Nike sneakers
Hello, can you please help me? I wear a US 9 in Captain. Is the size also for Thursday boots Diplomat? Or is US 8.5 better? Thank you very much

Burnt copper looks good
I like that shirt too! Where did you get it from?

I've watched enough of your videos. I gotta ask you, where did you get the jacket?
The one he is wearing in the video (sitting in the chair) is taylor stitch hemp chore jacket.

Great style and value but they need to add a wide option. its a bit narrow in the forefoot.
Do you happen to know what the heel to toe drop is in this model? Approximately
Does anyone know where his shirt jacket is from?
how does this compare with the captains?
It sure looks like the Burnt Copper
It's Arizona Adobe and he says it at 3:32
This looks like the burnt copper version. Is it not?
Honestly love how slim these mic toes are.

Thursday Diplomat does not come in EE wide widths.
They do now. They say it’s “EE/EEE”.
What are those lug sole moc toes you pull up in black at 6:35?
Grant Stone Brass boots!
🔥🔥🔥
Good review, thanks
Thanks for watching!
I wouldn’t go a half size smaller in this model. I did this and they were too small. My regular size fit perfectly.
I think im finding out the same. Got mine for Christmas, currently stretching them out with socks!
Agreed. Had to return mine for true to size.
what about origin maine boots?
Just order the same pair super excited
