For those of you that may not see the news from Saskatchewan. On a farm near Bjorkdale a Charolais/Simmental cross cow about eight years old has given birth to four calves. She was bread to a Simmental bull. According to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine the odds of this happening are 1 in 700,000. All four female calves are now over a week old and are all doing well. This pushes the odds to 1 in 11.2 million. They are believed to be two pairs of identical twins. I just thought any of the livestock producers out there might find this interesting.
Now in a round about way I'm interested in numbers too. I raise meat rabbits it is vital to a farmer to know such things for an informed operation.....
cole hoping you guys get the rain you need. hope brian is enjoing his vaction. her i NE we got hit with a ton of tornados hoping the pepole are safe in Omaha Ne but enjoy the weekend and keep safe.
I live in St petersburg just 5-7 miles from Clearwater Beach. They are probably home already but they came at a good time perfect weather for the beach or sight- seeing. Boy that wind really whipped up, so glad you all got the rain
I imagine your Dad had plenty of these days in his youth. It's a wonderful thing to know Mom and Dad are out enjoying life knowing their son is in charge. Farmer Cole you got this God Bless Sonne Farms and Families.
Don't worry about "repeatedly" telling us about the weather and what you'd like from it... Firstly, you're not going on about it half as much as the European farmers I watch, and they're justified. Secondly, it gives us context - not living remotely close to you, I don't know accurately what the weather has been like and consequently the state of the ground. And third, weather has been crazy the last couple of years and it's nice to understand the greater issues you're facing. Hope Brian and Tammy get well rested before planting season. Great video as always.
Thanks for another great video Cole. It was interesting and enjoyable. Busy day for you with dad being gone. Best wishes to Brian and Tami for a Florida vacation. Enjoy. Cole your day has been busy spreading fertilizer before planting. You covered a lot of acres in one day. Good to get it done before the rains. Good job Cole!!!!!! And one of your cows had twins. Good of uncle Jeff to look after the calves. Hope the one calf does alright that needs a mom. Sorry about your a/c electrical box. Hopefully he will get it fixed so the cattle can’t bother the box. Good going Cole with dad being away. You did great. Thanks for everything Cole. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
That looks like fun spreading fertilizer. I sure miss farming, I think that is why I like your channel and other farming channels. Thanks for the good videos
Oh Cole you’re a great husband for realizing that what a wife needs is so beneficial to your family. Lol. Nice to see you get some moisture. Weather has been really unpredictable, not even sure we’re in spring yet! Have a great weekend. ❤❤

Awesome. Brain is lucky to have you. There are very, very few people on this earth , who have the work ethic of the Sonne family . All of them. Thanks. Made my day.
It's always reassuring when Captain Cole is in charge when Admiral Brian is away. Like the others have been saying you guys are way overdue for a good growing season.
Other folks have “Squirrel “. Cole has “deer” or “moles” in the field. So the cattle got into an electric box and caused some mischief! Nice camera work Cole. Nice video footage!
Sad thing is, when you guys have drought, we get the floods here in Australia. Then it seems to flip around. Here’s hoping we all get just as much moisture as we need. There’s an Australian classic poem by Dorothea MacKellar - “My Country” that I often think you guys could relate to in some ways.
Howdy Cole, Brian, I hope ya'll are doing well, Ah, where did that stroopwaffle come from, the one you had in the tractor ?? On Bull day, there was 1 stroopwaffle left, and Brian said you could have it, and you said Ellie definitely wasn't gonna get it, but that was on Bull day, so where did you get ( another ) stroopwaffle ?? It's bad enough we can't get stroopwaffles up here in Alberta, Canada, you get extra stroopwaffles Cole ?? Ok, ok, how do we get some of those tasty 😋 stroopwaffles up here in Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 🤣 Another Great video Guys, Stay safe, God Bless and Farm on my Friends
I didn't think that Mobility was still in business . I worked for them for a short time in the late seventy's . At that time they built fertilizer spreaders , smaller gas rough ground fork lifts and loaders .
According to my Grandmother, born and raised on a farm/ranch in Colman, SD, farmers did not have back problems until they installed lights on tractors.
I saw another way to save YOUR back on the wyoming way that they have a cradle you put the calf in and bring it to a lift mounted on 4 wheeler and weighs the calf.
Glad to see you got some rain. We had about 1 1/2 inches yesterday & last night here in west central MN. We have more coming tomorrow the way it sounds.
Hope I don't jinx it but bull numbers ahead of heifer number and getting some well deserved moisture. Hope all farmers get a great 2024....much deserved
Coincidentally, my electric went out last night, mine was weather related. I had a 654 New Holland for about 15 years that I replaced with a John Deere baler in 2020. The JD makes a real nice bale, but what I like the most is the net wrap, not that the twine wrapped NH bales were bad. Sounds like it's still going good for you on calving, good luck on the harvests this season! Have a good day!
Yesterday I bought a 2004 John Deer 6420 cab , front wheel assist, 310 loader with the 3rd function for a grapple buck or anything else, IVT transmission with 3800 hours. Was taken care of and kept in a barn , should be nicer than my 4020 propane, and 4230 diesel that doesn’t have a door ! I’m hoping it has enough pto hp to run my 935 MoCo .
Cole if you have some old rubber hose cut a peace long enough for that metal that’s caused the problem, cut the hose the length then slide it on the metal on the trailer may cutting through the hydraulic line.
Great to see you guys got the rain. Also a good thing that you got the area put on how cool is that? Hopefully mom and dad are having a great time in Florida call I wish you hadn’t thrown the dead head over the fence. I know you didn’t want it to get in your tires but if y’all want to send it my way I’d give you my address ha ha love you brother peace to you and your wife have a great one.
Hey Cole
i might have missed it BUT a great video would be with You, Dad and Uncle Jeff were sitting around and chatting about your Family history
Cole, you can use a piece of pool noodle on that sharp part of the cart. Might work for you. Love your videos, their very innovative.

Wow!!
That is intriguing. I know that often times twin calves can be sterile, and i am going to assume that is the case for quadruplet calves?
@@georgefamilyhomestead Guess it'll be a while before you will have an answer to that.

As long as he doesn't climb up on the grain silo alone again. We're never going to let him forget THAT one.
Yay for the rain!!! I kept saying, aloud, don’t forget the rain gauge realizing I was talking to my cat and that you couldn’t hear me 😂
I love the ride alongside…..I miss the spring fieldwork……Great video Cole!!!!

Prayers for a safe and prosperous year for all our farmers.
If I win the lottery I’ll buy you a bigger spreader.
Yeah enough of the drought issues, let's get you guys a nice normal growing season with proper rainfall.
Wished I lived a little closer to give you a hand Cole. Brian have a great and relaxing vacation with the boss.
Enjoy vacation, Coles got this!
Uncle Jeff (on calf watch)... is Cole's back up!..
Happy vacation Brain & Tammy!🧃🍹👍👏👏👏
Sunup to sundown. A farmers work is never done ✔️.

So happy to hear you’re going to get good moisture after you finish fertilizing!!
Hoping the rain keeps coming and you have a record bumper crop this year.
Ellie said it’s too moist I want back in the garage!!
Have fun in Florida, Brian and Tami! Cole is taking good care of the homestead!
❤
Blessings to all our farmers. You’re the cream of the crop!!!
You finished the fertilizer before the rains came. . . . way to go Cole! 😊

Homestead in good hands, this country needs more sons like Cole!!

Great video. Hope your parents had an enjoyable trip. So glad.you got moisture. God Bless.
Praying for rain for y’all!!😊
Loved the camera under the tractor carriage! Like an amusement ride going through the ditch.
Way to rock the homestead while Brian is grabbing so R&R. 💪🏻
Awesome. Brain is lucky to have you. There are very, very few people on this earth , who have the work ethic of the Sonne family . All of them. Thanks. Made my day.
Good idea to have a backup baler in case of a breakdown and to do the ditches.
Another sweet video glad to here your mom and dad took a limitless vacation
I hope Brian has a baby cam on the corn silos to make sure Cole doesn't climb up on them again while Mom and Dad are away.
Brian and Tami, hope you enjoyed your vacation :) Thanks, Cole for the video! Yay, moisture :)

Keep up the hard work Cole, making Brain proud. U the man💪👍
Boss man leaves and it rains?......i see a new tradition about to begin
Great camera placement
Curls in the morning are important, I'm sure your wife is glad you understand that.
Hopeful for the rain. My son lived in Brookings for few years. It seemed like it was always windy when we visited. Thanks for the videos Cole.

Good to see the rain, Cole!!! I hope you have a stellar crop this year!
Awesome job Captain 🧑✈️ great video🙏🏼for a great year Aloha from Hawaii 🌴😎🤙🏽
Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
Thanks again for taking us along today. Nice camera placement. A good balance of the many hats you wear some days.
I live in Clearwater, about a mile from the beach. Hope your parents enjoy their stay. Great days for a vacation. Sunny 0% chance of rain
We had a great time there. Beautiful place!
Take a piece of hose (probably 3/8") split it on one side and slide it over the metal edge for extra protection.
Looks great to see the moisture
664 is definitely a good choice for a backup baler. Ive never had a cow or heifer reject a twin, had 13 sets the spring of 2003

Thank you Sonne farms!!
Nice timing on getting the urea put out!
Good luck with the rain Cole , It is the 1 of May on Tues and we have not had any rain yet for 6 months .
Ellie "yum yum a treat"
Ellie also "Why are you filming me while I eat? Weirdo" :)
I think you got more rain yesterday as well. Here's to a good year. 🤞
Nice jib Cole. Congrats for the rain. Hope the electrical is up an running, by curling time. Great job by yourseelf!!!
Always a good video.
And you got the rain !!!
Glad to see you got some rain. We had about 1 1/2 inches yesterday & last night here in west central MN. We have more coming tomorrow the way it sounds.
Watching the wheels under your fertilizer that was a cool ride. Thanks Cole
You bet!
Cole, you put a video out everyday, work hard u an your father guys are a machine
I had a 688 nh baler. Great simple unit
You did well Cole, all that work done.hope you get your rain. I hope your power is sorted out. Strange to think it was the cattle.????
Hope I don't jinx it but bull numbers ahead of heifer number and getting some well deserved moisture. Hope all farmers get a great 2024....much deserved

Hopefully you'll have a great year with plenty of more rain! Also, would have been a really nice buck this fall!
I'm interested in knowing how that buck lost its life...
A long list of things to do gets done by a long day. Well done Cole. Just like dad would do. Glad you got the rains. How much was in the gauge? 😊
Long day thanks for sharing
Good to see lake Sonne
Great video Cole glad you got some rain. We need rain in Idaho too
We have a new technology called a Broom that may be useful to sweep Urea into the trailer drain.

Good result getting the N on just in time for that significant rain, Your fert calibration appears spot on as well - congratulations!
Dad made a bunch on his Bull sale, now it's time for the vacation.
Great thinking on the second baler, that Brian has quite the Brain on him!
