Your Herron trailer looks to be in good nick mechanically and tin work wise. I’d convince Father Phil (or whoever owns it) to invest in a bit of shot blasting, primer and paint (two pack) if at all possible. The difference will be owning a Herron in 20 years that’s still immaculate and worth a few quid or a trailer in 10-15 years that’s rotted and worth literally scrap value. Surface rust is like cancer to steal trailers, if you get it in the early stages you’ve saved your trailer. I do realise that time and financial resources ain’t to plentiful coming from a working farm myself but it’ll save you lots in the long run! 👌🏻Great video by the way. You’re making serious positive changes on your farm!👌🏻👌🏻
Kranzle are the only power washer for a farm. I went tru 2 Karchers too and pure junk - all parts are plastic. Kranzle are dear but made from metal parts, so can be repaired. Worth the investment.
There are 2 types of karcher a Mickley mouse version and a professional model professional is as good as kranzle any day from what I can gather Phil had the mickey mouse version if the lidl yokes are anything to go by
Dean Doherty done a great review for the kranzle on his channel he said every part is available and built to last. He should know cause he fixes tools for a living
Karxher 7. Only tool for cold washes. Get the mini version. Same as the max version without the blue tooth rubbish. Else you have to go pro range. They are awesome but you pay once for quality.
for the power washer if your going do all the washing in 1 place then get your self a simple stainless steel electric pump and an IBC. fill the IBC from the tap or even from the gutters (put in a strainer to keep the dirt and leaves out) and connect the pump the tank. We put one in 35 years ago for the milking parlor to and still use it today even though the milking has been gone for 20 years. you could probably even reuse the hose from the old washers. Adrian on Ifram wefarm did it a few months back
Hi Phil another great video, i have an Edge steam cleaner, excellent bit of kit, its 20 plus years old now and it's had some work, regular servicing and a few spare parts and that's all it's had, we got it when my dad ran lorries and it washed 3 artics and trailers for a long time, Karcher are not very good from what I've heard, good luck
I baught a petrol Honda washer , I think around 2500 psi but has a very high water flow rate per minute which helps , light machine for moving from shed to shed and starts first tip . Very happy with it 👍
Dirt driver is a very good power washers had 1 for 9 years never been any thing go wrong. We wash all our cattle sheds on hot with an turbo head on the lance in the spring when the cattle go out.
I agree with you edgarwylie8023 We have a dirt driver for washing plant machinery , it's used every day , it's powered by a single cylinder yanmar engine with hot wash, all you need is a water supply so would run off a water bowser or mains with a header tank, we have it mounted to a pallet so it's easily moved , not cheap but worth it's money
Kranzle is the only job for washing tractors and machinery I have mine for 4 years and it never skipped a beat pots of power and long hose with a reel for washing around machinery and it can do the detergent through the power washer without changing the lance
Phil I would recommend Brian Nixon for a Steam Cleaner we've had the same one for around 15 years now & it is still perfect, they're very basic no electrics to go wrong.
Yes but about 6 inches of straw under it I worked for a man and he wouldn’t have it any other way way even under grass silage as u will keep the goodness from run off and with the feeder u can pick you r grab in the bottom every day
May not be an issue with the self propelled grass but we piled grass with a 531-70 (no bother to her) and grass got stuck between the tyres and the mudguards. It bent the brackets and pulled the guards off. It was wagon silage not as well chopped that caused it. Up to yourself if you want to take them off or not. She will manage the pit no problem by the way.
Den-Jet makes some decent kit, although strictly speaking it isn't really a powerwasher, but more of a waterblaster. Used it at sea for many hours, and the dang thing was next to indestructible. Thanks for the video.
I’m sure there’ll be a new sponsored pressure washer in the yard soon now that the seed has been planted 😂, your just right sure if you don’t ask you don’t receive. Hope the maize goes well weather looks good for a week
Taste the juice from the stalk Phil. If it tastes sugary it has starch still in it but personally I would reckon it’s only water in the plant. I wouldn’t bother with any straw. We cut ours 3 weeks ago and it was a bit sappy but all the starch was gone from it. Bit of run from it for a few days but that was it
We cut our maize and put a good thick layer of straw in the base. And used the straw blower every 2nd or 3rd load to blow more through the maize ended up using just shy of a 4x4 round bale per acre of maize. And minimum runoff . Also don't pass kranzle for electric power washers.
Great video again Phil. You should check out Multi Wash l bough a 6.5 hp Honda with reel on. Great job and a good man to deal with. Between Castlecomer& Abbeyleix.
Iffffff you have plenty of water get a pump 40 litres a minute 3000 psi half-inch piping on nozzles to suit. on PTO shaft it will wash silos Cattle Houses machinery anything you threw at it and if it’s too much close the tractor off a little it’s what we use in Chicken houses. get a demonstrator
Pay for a real good washer Phil and ye won’t regret it. The k2 & k4 are grand for domestic use, especially when they live indoors etc most of their lives, no good hung on a wall like ye did. Buy a kranzle or the industrial karchers but I’d still put it somewhere mostly indoors if possible or you’ll still need a new one in a year or 2
We have an Old Ford 7700 with a 1000 speed PTO and have the throttle and stop control that you can operate them from the ground. We have a Hawk PTO operated power washer and the clever bit is we have a cable and lever for turning on the PTO from the rear of the tractor. It is very safe because if you push the lever towards the power washer it turns off the PTO .
yea Kranzle 1050 i had 2 ur3 Karchers no good only good for running about an hour ur less all plastic bit inside so got the Kranzle 1050 can go all day
Some companies will make up a machine for you. There's a crowd in Fermoy Co. Cork who made up a plug in one decades ago for us. It died after about 15 year's. Brother bought some petrol powered one and it would clean the sins off the devil. Great on concrete but too rough on machinery. Paint and all washed away. You'd need a hot washer for the machinery.
You’re brother is probably using a turbo nozzle, perfect for concrete or walls but would strip paint off a yolk😄Ideally you want a quick release on the lance to swap between normal washer and turbo
We get a loan of a yanmar diesel powerwasher for the sheds after the cattle. It's an aminal of a machine, but they're over 3k new if you can justify that.
Go Stewart Agri , ( as for maize viewing €5per head) That’s the spirit Phil , utilise every thing you can lad . Entrepreneurship at its best . You go for it Phil n remember keep your head high n f*** da begrudgers ‼️
Look at the Bosch range of power washers, used them for years at various places where I worked and never had any problems with them. Karcher are cheap to buy but overrated and the often needed plastic repair parts are way overpriced.
Waste of time with the straw... open the chop length on the harvester.. Do not chop it short..any thing under 15mill is to short for green maize .. done it for years in Nz.. chopping green feed dry matter any thing from mid 20s to mid 40s.
Put the golden stuff on the bottom of the pit then in the middle of the pit put 4 bales of straw try get rape seed oil because there great for sockage if not use normal straw but that's what I would do if I was in ur shoes plus I see lots of fields of maze all golden the hole field is
Get that western tank one 1000 litres with diesel yanamar engine 100 liter detergent tank 2 lances we have one brillant machine pull it behind Jeep it's same as a trailer

You should buy the plastic now to have it next spring for the maize
Kranzle are the only power washer for a farm. I went tru 2 Karchers too and pure junk - all parts are plastic. Kranzle are dear but made from metal parts, so can be repaired. Worth the investment.
Dear but worth it for someone that's got that amount of gear
There are 2 types of karcher a Mickley mouse version and a professional model professional is as good as kranzle any day from what I can gather Phil had the mickey mouse version if the lidl yokes are anything to go by
Karcher are great.
Place I worked at yrs ago used to always put straw on the floor to help soak up the effluent and it helped, also able to then feed the straw.

Steels looking well. All painter up.
Plenty of projects.
Best steam cleaner I know for is a Nilflisk Alto, absolutely brilliant. Never go wrong and if they do, parts are easily available
Try a can of silicone lubricant on the JCB seat. Should work better than WD40.
That seat in the jcb isn't fun for people watching with earphones in. Can only imagine what its like in person 😂.
Brand new ones are the same
Easier to ignore in person
I baught a petrol Honda washer , I think around 2500 psi but has a very high water flow rate per minute which helps , light machine for moving from shed to shed and starts first tip . Very happy with it 👍

Chopped beet will also soak up effluent and nutrients from the maize
Great video good luck with the maize
Multi wash down in Laois have a big selection, hot& cold
Yea, I'd second that, bought a washer off him during the summer, sound out to deal with.
Little battery hand held blower is great for blowing down machines.
Have a stihl one and it’s one of the most used tools around the house and farm, Milwaukee do a nice small one which would be perfect that use
Kranzle is the only job for washing tractors and machinery
I have mine for 4 years and it never skipped a beat pots of power and long hose with a reel for washing around machinery and it can do the detergent through the power washer without changing the lance
KRANZLE BEST FOR FARM HAD ONE ONE ON OUR FARM USE FOR CALF HUTCHES AND TRACTORS ETC ❤❤
Phil I would recommend Brian Nixon for a Steam Cleaner we've had the same one for around 15 years now & it is still perfect, they're very basic no electrics to go wrong.
I recently bought a ROK petrol power washer in Woodies for €299.99 and it's not bad at all and also handy because it's mobile.
Yes but about 6 inches of straw under it I worked for a man and he wouldn’t have it any other way way even under grass silage as u will keep the goodness from run off and with the feeder u can pick you r grab in the bottom every day
we use a KENT power washer with heat
May not be an issue with the self propelled grass but we piled grass with a 531-70 (no bother to her) and grass got stuck between the tyres and the mudguards. It bent the brackets and pulled the guards off. It was wagon silage not as well chopped that caused it. Up to yourself if you want to take them off or not.

Put beet pulp or orange pulp
I’m sure there’ll be a new sponsored pressure washer in the yard soon now that the seed has been planted 😂, your just right sure if you don’t ask you don’t receive. Hope the maize goes well weather looks good for a week

Use hay instead of straw to collect the water. Better feed values, easier to compaction and higher absorption capacity
We cut our maize and put a good thick layer of straw in the base. And used the straw blower every 2nd or 3rd load to blow more through the maize ended up using just shy of a 4x4 round bale per acre of maize. And minimum runoff .
Also don't pass kranzle for electric power washers.
Dry stuff on the bottom. It's what they do for silage in silos.
Great idea that see the mass
PTO driver power washer is the only way to go Phil.
Really enjoyed the video.
Wash and get the veneri ready in case the jcb doesn't cope that wsy you just gitta jump into her and away
Can't beat Ava pressure washer. Aluminium pump and internal
Great video again Phil. You should check out Multi Wash l bough a 6.5 hp Honda with reel on. Great job and a good man to deal with. Between Castlecomer& Abbeyleix.
Kranzle Powerwashers brilliant job
Multiwash have very good power washers
Good video farmer phil ❤
5:10 do you need a driver for tomorrow, I’ll come down and take the 6480 for ya 👍
Since you have tractors maybe the hawk pto power washer could be an option
Should get a good hot wash steam cleaner Phil and you'll love it 👍👍👀
It's great man❤
Multi wash down in Laois, new and second hand hot washers, with extendable lance and reels if you need, he's negotiable with price too.
KEW pressure washers are pretty dam good.. Cracking vi's sir... flat out in all directions as usual 😅.. stay safe 🏴
With all those tractors ye have available, get yourself a hawk PTO washer.
Farm tour
I wouldn’t be tipping trailers with the JCB as you will end up with Hydraulic oil in your tractors brakes
hows that possible as I take it you're talking about air brakes and not hydraulic brakes??
@ hydraulically operated oil immersed disc brakes have anti squawk additive that hydraulic oil doesn’t have.
Thats a hot bun today Phil😂
Pay for a real good washer Phil and ye won’t regret it. The k2 & k4 are grand for domestic use, especially when they live indoors etc most of their lives, no good hung on a wall like ye did. It is very safe because if you push the lever towards the power washer it turns off the PTO .
If you want a very good cold power washer then get a Honda gx 390
FRANK hot water/cold pressure washers are about the best there is .
Cleanwell hot power washer very good.
Nice one Phil
yea Kranzle 1050 i had 2 ur3 Karchers no good only good for running about an hour ur less all plastic bit inside so got the Kranzle 1050 can go all day
Yeah use the straw twill stretch things hold in the nutrients and cover the straw shortage with not having whole crop
Some companies will make up a machine for you. There's a crowd in Fermoy Co. Cork who made up a plug in one decades ago for us. It died after about 15 year's. Good stuff
Straw in the pit is a good idea I saw that done in Sopwell farm in Gurteen as the pit had no tank many years ago.
Kranzle power washer, great job. And get a foam gun and a barrel of kenotek detergent to go with it
Make sure it’s the right kenotek. The trf stuff will ruin paint on tractors and machinery
That a white mr2? Do a story time on it 😃
Suttons of ross hydraulic pressure washer
might not suit but i bought a 40lpm pto power washer lately, animal of a yoke
Yeah cant do any harm to put a bed of straw down
Cold washer, go with a Kranzle.
Pto driven power washer is the only way plenty of power and parts are handy got
Have you already ordered all the plastic for next years maize sowing?
Have you pulled the rest of the beet?
We get a loan of a yanmar diesel powerwasher for the sheds after the cattle. It's an aminal of a machine, but they're over 3k new if you can justify that.
Go Stewart Agri , ( as for maize viewing €5per head) That’s the spirit Phil , utilise every thing you can lad . Entrepreneurship at its best . You go for it Phil n remember keep your head high n f*** da begrudgers ‼️
A cleanwell hot and cold

Karcher are cheap to buy but overrated and the often needed plastic repair parts are way overpriced.
put beet pulp on the floor
Honda gx390 3600psi Clarks of cavan have em
Waste of time with the straw... open the chop length on the harvester.. Do not chop it short..any thing under 15mill is to short for green maize .. done it for years in Nz.. chopping green feed dry matter any thing from mid 20s to mid 40s.
Karcher 7 a great powerwasher
Put the golden stuff on the bottom of the pit then in the middle of the pit put 4 bales of straw try get rape seed oil because there great for sockage if not use normal straw but that's what I would do if I was in ur shoes plus I see lots of fields of maze all golden the hole field is
We’re gonna do ours in a weeks time as it’s looking dry for the next 10 days but I doubt I will be completely ripe
Goats got out again. 🤣
Seen father pill chasing after them down the road on a bike waving his arms about 😂
That amount of plant needs a petrol washer IMO Phil, tho they do go through the water alot faster
we have a kranzle therm 1017, really simple and powerful
Even if it does run a little juice, it will just be water, not the starch maize, isn't like grass that runs all the goodness out if low d.m.
Kranzle 135 is a good electric power washer
The famous JCB seat annoying squeak .. every JCB telhandelr i have driven has had the exact same issue .. but good machines
Phil there is a lovely looking mf 6499 for sale in o hara machinery in derry worth looking at
Get that oil can out for that seat!
Get that western tank one 1000 litres with diesel yanamar engine 100 liter detergent tank 2 lances we have one brillant machine pull it behind Jeep it's same as a trailer
They are not overly suited to the silage pit alright if you are stuck
if the maize left or declined in acreage , what replaced it. back to grass silage or whole crop
Grass silage
Will you have to treat the maize since it's not fully ripe? Or do you treat it anyway?
We treat it anyway with agriking
@@FARMERPHIL3690 what does the AgriKing do for it, i see ye put it on everything.
The funky farmer had better content om maze harvest 😊
Why can't I see this video?
🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💪💪🙏🙏👌👌👍👍👍
Dirt driver head and shoulders better than the rest
Scaffolding? In 2024 ? Hire a cherry picker .........do the job in half the time ..
Kranzle 135 is a good electric power washer
