      My friend you need to wrap the exhaust bottom and under the seat with the titanium headers wrap it will make the difference check ebay for the wraps good luck

      Thanks for the tip! I've seen it on Harleys, but didn't think to put it on a sportbike. Cheers!

    The main culprit for the heat is not the exhaust, it's the cylinder head 5 mm away from your thighs. That's why the second gen 1199 panigale had cylinder head covers. This helped a little, but putting heat resistant material under them helps further.

    I own a 959 Panigale and a 749s. Ducatis always stand out in a crowd for sure! People definitely stare and comment everywhere I go. Seems even gassing up takes me longer than usual because there's always someone coming up to ask about the bikes. (I'm not even mad lol) Your bike is pretty bad ass in it's current configuration. I too want a V4 but with all the recalls, I'll wait until they work out the issues and get a next gen. Great video btw!

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +2

      Great to hear from a fellow Pangale owner! It's funny you wrote about taking longer to gas up. It happens to me too, and I also don't mind! ;)
      I will probably trade my 1299 in for a V4 in a year or 2. They need to get the bike perfected first and resolve the recalls/issues! Ride safe my friend!

    I have a 13 848 EVO and I get tons of attention even more than my Monster before it. Your bike is at the top of the food chain so you must not be a shy person otherwise you would end up selling that beautiful bike 😉 thanks for another great video

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +2

      The 848 EVO is a pretty impressive bike itself! I remember seeing one a couple of years ago at a park in Hawaii, when I owned my CBR and my BMW S1000RR. I couldn't help but go over at stare at it. I remember talking to the owner and telling him what a pretty looking bike it was. The 848 EVO was basically the inspiration for me to finally take the dive and splurge on the Panigale ;)

    I have a 2019 with (race exhaust) and 2024 V4R. The 2019 gets HOT as hell. The first time i noticed i had took down to make sure it wasnt on fire. So only short rides for me. And I have the heat shield. I just got the 1299R FE. Im waiting on delivery. Did the heat shield make Any difference. Did you have the complete race exhaust? Do you think that made it hotter. Btw I have the arrow bar end mirrors and love them.

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  8 месяцев назад

      Hey, just saw this comment after responding to your other one! You have 2 wonderful bikes my friend! The heat shielding on the 1299 made a little bit of a difference, but not much. I do live in Florida though, so in the summer it doesn’t matter how much you try to cool off, you burn. On the 1299, I had the Akra slip on, but not the full headers. My V4 has the full Akra, and responds “better” to the heat. I don’t have the arrow bar ends mirrors on my V4 (like I did on the 1299), but I am considering purchasing them again. By the way, thanks for watching and commenting!

    I have one as well. And it get crappy mileage, your inner thighs feel like cooking bacon, But in the end it is a superbike, not a commuter. Tampa traffic is brutal on it. But I do still commute on her. Cheers! great video! She is at Eurocycles right now getting warranty work done. Hit me up if you want to ride some day.

      Thanks the comment Rich! I was appreciate hearing from a fellow Panigale lover. You are correct about cooking our thighs, lol! I'm currently working overseas for a couple months, but I'll hit you up for a ride when I get back.

    You should also add that bike does not like to run at rpms less than 4k...it will try to buck you off until you get rpms in higher range. As for gas mileage, mine gets an average of 25 to 28 miles per gallon, so fillups are very frequent. I added a Termi full system and RapidBike Race unit on it about a year ago and gas mileage went to hell after that, but it sounds and runs much better than stock, so I can live with the crappy gas mileage...I just bring an extra fuel bottle, in case, if I go an longer rides. Ride safe.

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +2

      All valid points my friend! Low RPMs stuck in traffic SUCKS! Plus the bike gets hot as hell! I probably get around the same gas mileage with my Akra exhaust. Like you said, it's worth living with the crappy gas mileage for the amazing sound! ;)
      Where do you store the extra fuel bootle? In a back pack? Cheers my and ride safe!

      @@TheDucatiPilot I carry .25 gallon fuel bottle (Optimus) either in my backpack, or strapped to it. Still kind of looking for a way to safely strap 2 bottles to rear seat cowl for those long day trips.

      Pretty much everything. Look at Ducati of Omaha’s website under OEM parts and see. If you can’t afford at Ducati, I recommend a Japanese bike. They are reliable and cheaper to own. I actually miss my old CBR1000RR.
