Ah yes, the Sisters of Battle, genuinely giving Loyalist Space Marines and The Inquisition a run for their money in fanatical xenophobic zealotry since their inception. Truly a wonderful group indeed...(This coming from a Death Korps fan before you scream at me)
That's the beauty of em! If it ain't a human, its gotta die. Of course, you'd be hard pressed to find a faction in 40K that isn't xenomisiacs. Big E wants Xenos tamed bc they're a bunch of unruly retards, and that's been morphed into hatred by the wider Imperium. Necrons hate everything living and believe they have a right to the galaxy, and Eldar hate everything because they view themselves as superior due to their age. T'au are acceptable of other races as slave labor and as mercenaries, not as actual members of society. Tyranids and Orks are probably the only two non-xenomisiac factions, and that's literally only because one lacks higher brain function to understand the concept, and Orks are just looking for a good WAAAAAAAAAAGH!
So, in short, the Sisters of Battle, the Onna-Bugeisha, loving caretakers, the last and kindest voice you hear before hardship, and Joan of Arc are what Feminism would be if Feminism made any sense.
They’ve been corrupted many times, Their fanaticism to the Emperor is incredibly excessive, which makes them easy prey for Slaanesh. Miriael Sabathiel was a Sister Superior who turned to the worship of She Who Thirsts. If it could happen to her, it could happen to any number of them too. They can be possessed as well, as any regular human could, but Miriael Sabathiel is a special case because she willingly chose to turn her cloak and side with Chaos, same as countless Astartes, thus dispelling them myth that Sororitas are incorruptible. Such claims are merely Imperial propaganda. During the Second Bloodtide, Ka'jagga'nath the Bloodthirster corrupted the entire Order of the Ebon Chalice through the use of nanites from the Dark Age of Technology. Sororitas are susceptible to corruption, possession and mind control, same as everyone else in the Imperium, they just tend to be able to resist longer due to their devotion to the Emperor. But again, delving too far into that belief brings them into Slaanesh’s fold.
@@AveTrueToCaesar8212 Yeah but numbers wise compaired to normal humans and space marines their record for resisting corruption is incredibly good, I mean the only group that has no memebers that have ever fallan to chaos are grey knights, custodes and blanks I think (because their blanks) so for normal human to acheive their record is miraculous

I find kind of idiotic how Games Workshop wants to introduce female space marines when they already have such a magnificent institution in their hands, more so composed of real flesh and bone human stock, which means they can write personal, on the ground stories about individual sisters, with real names, their personalities, their wishes for the future, their fears and tests of faith, To me the space marines have always feel more like blocks of people instead of individuals, maybe only the names of generals or commanders are mentioned here and there, but even if I'm not precisely well versed on the lore, I don't think I've heard of the name of any individual space marine, for what I know they can have serial numbers instead of names, it's always the name of certain company of certain battalion of certain chapter. I would really like to know more about the Sisters and the Adeptas Sororitas at large, like their contribution to the greater galactic society, in healthcare, scholarship, education, charity and humanitarian work, damn, that thing about them being diplomats sound so interesting, helping to keep humanity united and connected.
I started this army because of Nuns with Guns. I stayed because, well still Nuns with Guns but the actual pure faith many of them showed in their handful of novels. They aren't screaming lunatics, they're surprisingly calm and measured most of the time. Just very driven
Actually Sisters can be the daughters of low, middle or high classes tutored and selected by the religious hierarchy to be ideal loyal to the Empire wives for planetary aristocracy. After 10 years of service, for example.
a human female has, on average, 40% less muscle mass than an average male. This compounds when you are talking about trained, and conditioned males, as females do not scale up in muscle mass to anywhere the same degree as men, and they hit a wall in development far sooner than a male will. Female metabolisms are not geared towards muscle building and energy expenditure. They are geared for energy storage (to birth children). Females bones are more brittle, and one of the single most common injuries for females under arms is hip fractures from ruck marches. This is why 14 year old boys can completely dominate an Olympic level woman's soccer team. This is why all female combat units can't even march 30 miles to the front lines before becoming combat ineffective from non-combat injuries. The only way the Sisters of Battle COULD work, is if they WERE heavily genetically modified or cybernetically enhanced. Combat is something that you can't just train yourself into being good at. There are very real barriers to entry from physicality that women just can not attain. Remember, they are already massively disadvantaged against human men. They would be fighting against things far worse.
@@plmokm33 that doesn't mean anything. Sexual dimorphism is a fact with humans, and they made it a point to state that Sisters are literally normal humans. Ergo, they would be extremely likely to suffer broken bones even with power armor.
@@Harvest133 Yes it does indeed change things. There are places in 40k where you have "normal" humans which are still enhanced. Catachan comes to mind, they're described as being "being both taller and more powerful than normal humans" despite having no genetic modification at all or being differentiated as an abhuman species. The baseline human 40,000 years from now may be hardier overall. Even if still more fragile then men, women may be less fragile than today's counterparts. No one said that males trained and equipped to the standard of the SoB wouldn't do better, the only reason they use females is for the sake of a legal loophole. That said, I can see the SoB taking on Guardsmen for example, who are far less trained and equipped. And seeing as the Guardsmen are used to fight most threats the Imperium faces, that means the SoB are more then enough to deal with most threats. As for your broken bones comment, yea and Ironman should be dead 100x over too. Some suspension of disbelief is required when it comes to power armor especially tens of thousands of years from now.
@@plmokm33 I just can't suspend my disbelief, because I have actual experience with the military and females in it. There will never, repeat, NEVER, be a time where it makes sense to have female soldiers over males.
There’s never any videos or novelizations or short stories that display the brutal effectiveness of them being in power armor. They could rip chaos cultists apart bare handed (in power armor) while singing hymns. They should be able to smash through walls like the Kool Aide man, but so often their armor is shown to be basically a high tech gothic sailor moon costume which gets reducted to “lady Gaga hair in a corset with high heels”
Well... They have two stories, an audiobook and a graphic novel. The first book shows how effective they are and the second has them fighting Necrons... So not a great way to show off anything
Wearing Space Marine power armor not only requires massive genetic and cybernetic upgrades, but it is also a highly ritualised and religious affair, and each chapter armours their marines in a very special ceremony. The Adeptas Sororitas, being comprised entirely of unaugmented humans, could not wear Space Marine armour, and would not, as it would violate the Space Marine's sole and exclusive right to wear it.
@@elsarethqueenling5587 How on earth could a sister wear a marine powerarmor in the first place? Or you fit five of them inside to operate it!? Ya know, we definitely aren't five women inside a walking tank, just a standard marine, nothing to see here... And btw yes, sisters use powerarmor, of course not the same type marines do!
It would have been funny if Space Marines could breed, and they primarily use Sisters of Battle to breed humans that would become future Space Marines or Sisters of Battle. Hey, they are prime genetic stock.
SM can breed, most just don't live long enough/have the desire to have children. Sisters can also have kids, and are noted for having good genetics. So nothing stopping you from having a Space Marine chapter, heavily tied to the Inquisition where they retire to a Medieval World with Adeptus Sororitas wives. Have to have a lot of fluff to justify it beyond "this gets me off", but there's nothing in the lore that would stop it
Positive titles are better than negative ones. And building your mindset on opposition to leftists instead of focusing on building your own right wing one is kinda cringe
Why are you preoccupied with defending women from "anti-woman" material from the "Toxic Left" when the Left is primarily constituted of women and women have enabled all of the "progressive" atrocities that've brought Western civilization to its knees? The "Toxic Left" isn't the problem; women as a political body are.
9:29 I like the Gray Knights more for the simple fact that their Terminator armor is clearly inspired by plate armor from late medieval Europe. Of course, I still like the Sisters of Battle undeniably. And then the Black Templars but mostly because of the Emperor's Champion
There are a lot of _generationally_ malnourished guys of lower classes who go to IG. Sisters of Battle can be daughters of primarily middle or high classes of Imperial society. So they can be historically healthier and taller. Also in any case they get better nourishment in their schools and a lot of training. Add to this better medicine. So even without power armour average Sister can be physically stronger and taller than most male Guardsmen.
@@PilgrimsPass My theory is that most young Sororitas (SoB or other branches) serve for a given period of time just as in European history daughters of nobility were sent to convents for education. And after that they return to their families to be marriaged to various planetary lords. By this means intentionally or not Ecclesiarchy can cement its religious control over local and imperial aristocracy and ensure loyality to Imperial creed. Add to this some guarantees against corruption and mutations in noble blood lines. // I use various accounts as I am Catholic in Belarus which is effectively under pro-russian occupation.
is there a reason why the good wishes and desires of people can't manifest into something like angels in 40k? I've never played and I don't know much about it but from what I've heard goodwill isn't a tangible source of power while sin is...for some reason...
"Sin" isn't a source of power in 40k. In 40k the warp is a reflection of the material world, but there the emotions of sentient beings have the biggest impact. That means that powerful emotions like disgust, fear, lust, etc are what leave the biggest impacts.
There *sort of* are such "Imperial Warp Entities" in 40k. The older one is the "Legion of the Damned," which is a group of ethereal Space Marines which occasionally pop out of the warp to save Imperial forces/wreck the enemies thereof. The fluff is deliberately vague on whether they're just an unknown/lost chapter or if they're actually warp-sourced. There's also a few Imperial Saints that have been reborn several times after being confirmed KIA, much akin to how Daemons can't be permanently killed, only temporarily banished to the Warp. Lastly, the Sisters of Battle *do* explicitly have powers drawn from faith rather than from the 40k 'understood' powers of the Warp. (At least, they did in the old fluff; I'm about ~10-15 years behind canon in several areas). Essentially, canon generally trends towards the "The Emperor/Imperium does have its own 'help' from the Warp, but it's much less concentrated than for Chaos." balance.
actually it can, I guess Sisters of Battle have a special mechanic called "faith" in the game, or however it was called again (no idea if it's called the correct why) basically their faith in the emperor let miracles happen game-wise, you can re-roll stuff or get an extra-shot, or something like this
Probably this video is a best case for religion than any preaching I can think of. I'm looking for reliable books about the history of christianity, the origins of the primitive church and evolution. ¿Any recommendations? This is your best video in my opinion, thanks a lot.
That's why The Sisters of Battle/Slience are my favorite factions. On paper they wouldn't really work well with each other yet both put themselves through literal hell. Where these beyond human near demi-gods have failed. They want a difficulty spike to keep them sharp.
6:53 the Grey Knights are literally Space Paladin Jedi Demon Hunters. Sisters have had a couple get corrupted over the centuries. Grey Knights haven’t lost a single guy to chaos. (Acting) Brother-Captain Alaric was defeated and taken prisoner by a Khornate warband who took him back to a Daemon world where he was forced to fight gladiatorial battles, but he didn’t break, escaped and fought his way back to Titan. Hyperion *broke daemon Primarch Angrons sword* with his psychic might. It’s where the Third Brotherhood gets it’s name “the Sword Breakers” from. A daemon weapon of horrendous power has to be kept in the possession of their greatest purifier, for its too dangerous to leave in their vaults and can’t be destroyed (kinda think they ain’t trying hard enough or applying creating thinking like “chuck it in a black hole”) Their grandmaster is part samurai Jack, part Doomslayer. Forged from the Emperors own flesh they are one last blade, cast in defiance of fate, to save the race He failed.
Not to highjack the video, but where are the Brothers of Silence? Sisters of Battle I'm 100% on board for (especially tanks), but that makes me think of the Sisters of Silence. They don't need to have the SoB loophole, so them being all female doesn't make sense when blanks are so rare. What is the Empire doing with all the male blanks? A Blank Custodes would be Big E's wet dream come true.
Dunes Fish speakers are another all female religious army devoted to a god emperor, but instead of a legal loophole it’s because Leto says a male army will turn on its population when not given an enemy, where as a female army will at worse become a little gay
The thing is being a woman isnt veiwed as something strong but as weakness I mean they were literally called the weaker sex and so whos gonna want to do things that are looked down on? woman have the same desire as men to do things that get respect and are valued
that's very simplistic, motherhood was extremley reveered historically speaking and many ideological narratives interpert history falsely for a political agenda and many female intelectuals and historians contest this simplistic view of history. In reality, men and women were cooperating against the absolute harshness of the world together and arranged society and negotiated roles differently to bes adapt to their different, highly dangerous enviorments. Putting women in danger often risked putting your society through a population collapse. Even so women often did reach the highest offices of leadership in history. Just see how those old patriarchal cultures often had a QUEEN who rose to the top but the USA has yet to have a woman president.
@@PilgrimsPass I agree for the most part patriarchal systems werent about oppression but just how sociaty best functioned for that time in our development and inequality was rampant due to class systems so their was never equality for alot of men either for most of history, Ive seen research where that indicates within stone age men waman were also gatherers for the tribal group and its theorised that the onset of agriculteral revolution aloowed woman to focus more on motherhood while the men did most of the farming but this possibly grew/entrenched a stronger gap in influence between the sexes at the time.

I suppose acts are the manifestation of goodwill, and imaginings are the source of chaos corruption, which then corrupts the acts of men
"Sin" isn't a source of power in 40k.
Essentially, canon generally trends towards the "The Emperor/Imperium does have its own 'help' from the Warp, but it's much less concentrated than for Chaos." balance.
actually it can, I guess
Sisters of Battle have a special mechanic called "faith" in the game, or however it was called again (no idea if it's called the correct why)
basically their faith in the emperor let miracles happen
game-wise, you can re-roll stuff or get an extra-shot, or something like this
The Eldar created beneficent warp entities to help and serve them, though they were pretty much wiped out during the explosive genesis of Slaanesh.
No, it’s the Ultramarines.
We march for Macragge and WE SHALL KNOW NO FEAR!
Bro, your the best!
2 big reasons
Booba
So true
That's just Sanshu Middle School Hero Club. 😂😂😂
Sisters might be the best, but Space Marines are always my favorite.
Probably this video is a best case for religion than any preaching I can think of. I'm looking for reliable books about the history of christianity, the origins of the primitive church and evolution. ¿Any recommendations? This is your best video in my opinion, thanks a lot.
I’m a staunch Imperial Guard man, by I’ll take based space nuns as well.
Cuz they are strong independent wahmen
What do you think of the Astartes from the Astartes Series ( the one that is 5 parts)? Do they also suffer from the Hamburger Syndrome?
No, because True Scale marines typically solve the issue of having assburgers
That's why The Sisters of Battle/Slience are my favorite factions. On paper they wouldn't really work well with each other yet both put themselves through literal hell. Where these beyond human near demi-gods have failed. They want a difficulty spike to keep them sharp.
I disagree with the borderline female-worship at the end of the video. Otherwise, nice take of the Sisters of Battle.
Liked, subscribed.
That's heresy, but I believe it
The Emperors Children just *love* them for the rest of their lives.
Based
They're the best because they have BOOBA of course
A daemon weapon of horrendous power has to be kept in the possession of their greatest purifier, for its too dangerous to leave in their vaults and can’t be destroyed (kinda think they ain’t trying hard enough or applying creating thinking like “chuck it in a black hole”)
Their grandmaster is part samurai Jack, part Doomslayer.
Forged from the Emperors own flesh they are one last blade, cast in defiance of fate, to save the race He failed.
But Sister are just humans. While Grey Knights not only Space Marines, but also blanks. Or should be, I'm not strong in that direction.
The moment when GW made them in plastic i was sold. alredy started my army xd
Didnt even watch the video. But your opinon is based
Ad mech, necrons, krieg and sisters are my favorite factions. For all these 4 are S-tier.
Yep. I am convinced. Subscription is the right thing to do here.
....... I like battle sister x Eldar stuff
"Where the White-Haired women at?"
-Sheriff Blazing Saddles.
All good points. I have trouble getting past the blasphemy inherent in having fighting nuns who worship a false god though
Anything that isn’t a Necron is automatically exempt from being the best of anything in 40k ;-)
Rad video 👍🌸✨
9th edition trailer is peak 40K. 👌
You are almost right. 40K best faction is still the guardboyz.
Lies! Orks is da best!
Agreed
2:58
I thought the Space Marines were the best
Space marines welcome witches (psykers) into their ranks. Sisters of Battle would never allow this folly.
Thumbnail?
I DONT think women are NOT capable of fighting... I just feel like they SHOULDN'T have to...
Dunes Fish speakers are another all female religious army devoted to a god emperor, but instead of a legal loophole it’s because Leto says a male army will turn on its population when not given an enemy, where as a female army will at worse become a little gay
Who is in the thumbnail? Asking for a friend
Damn, are we talking about same universe? Our perspective quite different.
Sisters of battle are not order of pretty women, who fight for emperor. They are crazy, fanatical, ugly women who fight for emperor. Just check repentia and you would understand what i mean. Sisters are full of scars, which they dont hide, they seek pain and punishment etc.
Dont get me wrong, a lot of stuff that said here is true. But for me it looks like you just assumed what sisters are about, because you wanted to see them in specific way.
It is telling that this video has so much pretty fan art, that is really far from their "in lore" look.
I know im late to this video, just wanted to share my opinion.
All good reasons. But i don't like Warhamer 40.000. I like the old one.
40k? More like... fornicate.
Lorgar's boys, skinning Sororitas for lulz: bruh, I guess only cute-looking girls can worship big E and being praised for their unwavering fervor.
B-But... They... They're WoMaN!
That's cool and all but actually Eldar 😶
