Their body language is so telling. His leg is crossed with his foot next to hers. Holding hands, leaning towards each other. There is no faking their relationship, these two are still deeply in love. As an Englishman it warms my heart to know that my friends across the pond once had such a great President who was empathetic to everyone regardless of their race, politics or religion. I just watched this again, one word for this couple...perfection. I'm Canadian and I remember the moment you elected him as your president. I believe he was the best president ever elected. I also remember being at work and watching Trump being elected...I am still shocked...what happened???
I ask myself that every day. I think the reason is threefold. 1. People were fed up with the establishment and wanted a shakeup. 2. Hillary Clinton was unpopular and ran a poor campaign. 3. Our election system is not democratic. Clinton won the majority of votes but lost the electoral college. The electoral college is a system put in place by the founders to placate slave-owning states who felt they would be underrepresented and politicians who didn't have faith that the people could be trusted to elect the best leader. I won't get too much further into how that works because it's complex, but what it means is that the winning candidate doesn't need to get the most votes to be elected president. Hopefully, more people will make the right choice this time around.

I'd never think of the word "simple" when it comes to Michelle Obama. I'd say she is forthright, and direct (in a tactful way). She just has so many facets of her life, and so much more than being a good mom! She's modern, very brilliant, fashionable in an "American way", often wearing clothes that are accessible to everyday American women. Not to mention being a gracious host, gracious in her everyday interactions with people, and I understand the WH staff as well.
