Mauga v.s. Hog is the hardest counter I've ever seen. Mauga shits on hog in 1v1, and you can't even run cause he has more mobility. And your main skill hook is basically suicide if you hook him, not to mention his rush counters all of your cc abilities. I know there are counters in ow, but counter till basically unplayable is just not right.
Nah Orisa vs Rein is MUCH more one sided than Mauga vs. Hog.
@@NobleRenegade7 They have different purpose, rein can block her spear, provide a shield to your team, and Orisa has her kit mostly for solo survivability. While hog and mauga have simuliar purpose, offense and looking for kills.
Kinda happy because a tank main there isn’t much counters to hog other than mirroring.
If you have any other counters I’d be happy to try it.
@@doomfishmain5154 I've never heard of hog been a problem aside from 1 shotting 200 hp target. btw orisa is already a good counter to hog cuz her gold and spin, and spear to stun his breather and when he hooked your teammates.
@doomfishmain5154 Outside of Orisa there's Zarya, who can block anyone who gets hooked with her bubble (and you usually get a ton of charge from it). D.va can use her DM the same way and her mobility allows her to navigate around him easily and control his ground. Those are usually the two I'd go with against Hog.

I still don't get why people think Orisa counters Mauga. Mauga is arguably just as good as Zarya as an Orisa counter.

Maybe Mauga (and to some extent turret form Bastion) should need to rev up his guns for like a second before they start shooting so that he isn't instantly dealing damage.

I reckon reducing the ammo count, making the ammo consumption double when both turret are firing, and maybe if that isn’t enough play around with how much the fire DOT does or if his survivability is too much then increase how much damage his crit spot takes or maybe add a crit spot on his back etc.

I feel like that's an issue because with people constantly peeking/flanking you have to monitor your ammo already. If you did at it people would need more ammo or an extra button just fir revving to prevent him getting basically getting pincered and dropped.
@@ChefONator5000 No I mean double it again. Logically it wouldn’t make any sense at all LOL, but 4 ammo going out your mag would feel a lot more than just the usual 2 it is currently.
I’ve been watching and playing a lot of Borderlands 2 and guns in that game often have gimmicks when you do certain things (e.g aim down sight or shoot an enemy or bullets hit the floor etc). Hence why I’m thinking along the lines of when both guns fire, their ammo consumption sky rockets to stop the ridiculous spray and pray gameplay it currently is.
I suppose a better way would be making it so when he shoots, two bullets come out of his gun, but they do half the damage of what they are now, so in effect there is no change to damage as it cancels out. Yet since 2 bullets are now coming out of his gun (4 in total if both are firing), you deplete your mag twice as fast. He still keeps his large mag size but reloads way more. They would probably rather just decrease his mag size if they were to do anything though, just cut it in half and the same dps works out. Would make his unlimited ammo from his ult more imperative though.
Competitive is gonna be ruined in a week once maugas playable

Ana is a fair and balanced hero. She has the highest pick rate in the game simply because she is -- *checks notes* -- fun and engaging
Anti nade has become the most oppressive ability in 5v5
@@BasicSneedEducation Anti nade shouldn't even be that oppressive in the first place.
The only reason it is is because we've gotten used to being able to face tank anything with the healing output of supports.
We basically had a loop of
1) Nothing is dying, boost damage.
2) Dying too fast, boost healing.
Over and over and now healing is a necessity for the game to function, so taking that away becomes op.

@@omarasfari4974she is the highest pick rate in the game because she has the one of the best healing and damage output out of the healers ( of course there is a high skill ceiling for that which is good ) however her nade and sleep is probably the best abilities in the game, takes little to no skill, and can’t be fixed by just making the cooldown longer ( as we’ve seen with the recent nerf ) she makes playing some tanks miserable as everytime they go to start a fight they just get antied or slept and just die or have to wait for it to wear off & get heals and by then she already has like a 3 second cooldown so she’ll have it for next fight. I’m all for keeping nade changing some properties. But remove sleep, there’s no reason for a support player to have an ability like that

its a small thing but I hate that you can't hook Mauga out of his charge. you can hook rein out of his charge, Doomfist out of his punch but not Mauga? seems inconsistent for the game.

Rein needs a rework pinning isn’t the main issue with Rein’s underwhelming performance as a tank in this meta, he was already meh before Mauga came out and this just sounds like reverting to Beta Mauga which was really underwhelming and didn’t have a strong presence in team fights if you wanna hit anything the shot damage is fine but I think the armor is fine at like 100 to 125
Mauga needed armor as he lacked general tankiness. His spread when firing both guns is fine. Damage nerf I'm okay with. Rein/Doom/Bob/Brig should never in a million years be able to counterpin Mauga as it goes against the whole characterization and idea of his charge being unstoppable.
You also have to keep in mind mauga has armor compared to hog to compensate the fact he can’t pull out breather with the damage reduction on demand like Hog can he has to abide by a full cooldown commitment
Keep the damage and armor, increase the overhealth on crit to 60% at least and up the total overhealth to 200, reduce cardiac to 60% lifesteal and increase its radius, remove the hinder in cage fight, and lower the firerate when shooting both guns to 75%.
Rember when they nerfed ram because of super long brawls
I think the best thing to do agaisnt mauga would be playing small fast dive heroes and ignore him if possible, doom seems to be good pick i think

Everyone who says Mauga is op.. Sure he's very strong, but he's not invincible, you just don't know how to deal with him. All you have to do is take a sigma and an ana and you literally no longer live
He's OP because your "all you have to do" scenario is forced on you or you can't win without mirroring. In addition, even if they are playing Ana, if your supports pick any of Bap, Kiriko, or Lifeweaver (or a two of these three) then you can still out play the Mauga "counter" Ana. Mauga paired with Baptiste and Lifeweaver will absolutely shred through a Sig shield and you have Pull/Lamp to play around the Nade.
and even if you do that kiri bap and weaver exists

They should make away with the idea of thr autocrits on fire and just make one gun be for better damage on squishies and the other be for his overhealth but with lower damage.
The whole thing about forcing crits while on fire is why playing tanks into him is so miserable.

There's no way. Mauga does 390 dps. Whole Hog does 896.

The problem with Mauga is he has insane midrange and close range damage, and just absolute sustain up close. So unless he gets Anti-naded he’s not dying. A good starting point would be to reduce his ammo capacity down to 250-300, and increase his reload to like 5-8 seconds. And while that may seem long, it would be a good way to add some counterplay for other tanks.

I feel like cyx has kind of a bad habit of taking health packs when his supports are healing him, all it’s doing is denying them ult charge.
You know what is worse than losing ult charge space. Everytime he picked up a health pack he gets right back into the fight to not have his entire team get collapsed in by the enemy tank and dps.

Everybody here has a dogwater way of rebalancing mauga when all he needs is lower shield gen. There's nothing inherently wrong with him as a character
as a mauga main imo a hog is a 50/50 counter really depends on the support. if you have a good kiriko that can get rid of the anti then you would be able to out heal the machine guns and stun him with the hook. i always see hogs trap me and it always buts me in a corner and away from my team. in summary hog vs mauga in 1v1 then mauga wins but in a general round then the hog has a better advantage.

Well before manga there wasn’t really what you could call a bar hard counter for ball. There was never any one character that didn’t offer counter play options. Old sombra was kinda like that until you learned to play against her and then huess what? Ball is a soft counter to sombra. The main for ball is the stupidly huuuuuuge maps. Push, domination etc. ball team takes so damn long to cross the map so on those maps you literally fighting against patience.take away the ability for every hero in the game to body block him and it’s a step in the right direction

They don't need to nerf him. They just need to make the other tanks stronger. That's it. Make tanks a massive threat in a fight. Mauga is fun as hell because he's exactly what you get when you give players two mini guns as a tank. So make the others tanks strong. Rein should be doing way more damage with his hammer. Orisas gun could be stronger and maybe a slower rate of fire could be there to compensate. Hogs pellets have less of a spread. Just stuff that makes all the tanks stronger in their expertise. Mauga is carrying two machine guns that are fairly accurate, of course people are gonna be frustrated when the tank player happens to know how to aim.
Nerfs are 10x beter than buffs in this stage of the game bro. Power creeping is what leads to people either geing lasered or nothing dying at all. For the nature of oerwatch they should nerf healing and damage, but not cooldowns

I disagree. Cooldowns should absolutely be increased. That and reload times, too.
This will allow for heroes to have more down time and windows of opportunity where they're much more vulnerable or unable to heal (in the case of supports).

@@Polymath2B well I’m not being too serious tbh was just messing around it all does kinda devolve into Ana/Zen or Ana/Kiri tbh I also find Mei a decent dps option since she can toss her ult into his ult to counter it in some way but he is fairly new so I can’t say this full certainty
