Racine resident here and Dave was fair about his review. Racine is the highway between Milwaukee and Chicago. Racine is my home and I love it ✊🏼 thanks Dave for showing the masses Wells ❤️
Probably 8.3 or higher. Dave didn’t have it in him in 0 degree weather to give a potentially controversial or shocking score so played it safe with the 8.1, figuring by putting it in the elite >8 category, the point is made. But truth be told: 8.1 is a COPOUT score, no less than 8.0 would be a “rookie score.”
I love wells brothers!! My great grandparents had a funny story there, that when they went it was new and they each ordered their own full pizza not knowing the size. It was their first date and it was always a tradition to go for their birthdays! ❣️

And boy, the crust was unbelievable thin , it's like paper thin (the closest thing it resembles to in skinny'ness is Lay's Baked Potato Chips) ... It was holding so well to that sauce and cheese ... zero flop , and felt extremely light and crispiness in every bite ! The best spent $16 on a pizza 🍕
Being from Racine I was eager for many of years to review wells bros. Given the variables I think it could have been a higher 8 (i.e outdoor temp, him feeling sick..etc). It's really the only style of pizza we know and love in South Eastern Wisconsin.

The lean economic trends and the fat economic trends...I am sure most Dave 8+ scores get a boost in revenue for a short stint which is nice n all but once that fades away and the out of staters and foodie snobs stop coming people in the area will always know what's up

I grew up my first 24 years of life in Racine. My guess is, he flew into Mitchell airport in Milwaukee at night. He then fell asleep in the car for the half hour drive to Ratseen, never actually seeing the extensive farmland between both towns, and eventually waking up not realizing that he was no longer in Milwaukee. It could happen. Wells is fantastic pizza, but I was raised on DeRango's Pizza. Best pizza in town.

Oh yeah, this pizza is sooo good. Just had the sausage onion tonight. Crust is amazing, sauce very tasty, sausage has the fennel in it, delicious, cheese great, too. Loving every bite. My dog likes it, too. Good boy, Louie!
