This is - again - some damn serious comedy!
Such clever writing, subtle, witty, deep, tragic -
and such acting!
How do they do it, these British comedians!
Simply on another level!
(Whitehouse in The Fast Show, Coogan in Saxondale, Brydon in Marrion and Geoff, and Jack Dee here - even the supporting actor in the gym scene - marvelous!)
I agree . I'm afraid it's way too clever for the mainstream - snobbery intended. The best comedy is understated and best served with some pathos.
How about Ricky Gervais in the Office. Jack Dee is a master of dead pan.
Stig Pedersen you have my taste in comedy bud👍🏻😉... I love positive comments👍🏻
Superb, superb. Brilliantly written and performed.
This show is great. Somehow we managed to laugh without a track telling us when it's funny.
That's definitely an advantage
That guy at the end was a complete Tommy tanker
This is such a well written, cleverly conceived sitcom. It's full of subtle passive aggression, aggressive passivity, aggressive aggression, passive passivity, all stations in between, all of it hilarious.
And it stays true to the universal, British concept of a sitcom, where all characters are flawed, but the main character is just absolutely awful.
Rick Spleen fits into the category that Basil Fawlty, Alf Garnett, Victor Meldrew, David Brent are in.
All hilariously funny, all absolutely intolerable if you had to live or work with them.

@@Hoptu Dank je. Heb beide gezien, allebei geweldig, toch weer heel anders. Vraag me altijd af waarom dat in Nederland niet aanslaat.

Banging soundtrack this show
Perhaps they'll be a new series- where one of them rides Magda.
That's quite well observed - yeah not by him though.
@00:20 is the interviewer Geordie Michael from Alan Partridge? Maybe not.
Yep, I'm sure he is.
Yes it is.
Sure is
Music at 13:50?
It's Michael!!
Why aye!
Am I the only one who finds Magda fit ?
She's gorgeous.
even if you are, "what does it matter?"
Was just wondering if anyone felt the same
@@craigfeek2157 I would not change my gender for her but the actress is actually attractive
She's cute, funny and smart 🌹
How can someone like Rick have a wife like Mel? I'm nicer than Rick, a better person altogether......oh yeah, it's a tv programme, I forgot
Sean Power is an absolute star, the way he delivers his lines is epic! The whole cast is brilliant, except for Jack Dee. What were they thinking when they cast this?
The show is brilliant because Jack Dee wrote it. His is the central performance.
What are you talking about? He’s perfect for the role with his grumpy demeanour.
The show is amusing, but the main character is intolerable.
He's intolerable because we recognise the worst things about ourselves in him.
That’s the whole point you yogurt
