I have enjoyed many of your interviews, PBD, but please know Tim Donaghy lied to you and your audience. You correctly promote the import of ethics and trust in business, and I was thus expecting an evidence-based discourse on the scandal. You wouldn't tolerate this in any of your employees or deal with others who were so blatantly dishonest.
Valuetainment he shouldn’t be interviewing This scumbag
NBA is absolutely a fixed game. Any fool can watch a game & tell they are influencing the finish of these games. This jackoff wasn’t even involved in the most controversial games. I remember that Sacramento & Portland series and it was so obvious crap was going on. Lakers 3 peat is one of the biggest frauds in sports history
you make glendale proud bro!!!
I would love to see a interview with Beniel Dariush and Patrick
Man I remember that Lakers Kings series. I was 17 or 18 and it was the beginning of my understanding the world is corrupt.
Watching this game convinced u the nba and sports in general were fucking fixed... I remember watching this game in particular thinking how the kings got fucked over.. this shit makes me fucking sick honestly
Look up the 1972 US Olympic basketball team.
For me it was the 2006 nba finals, i was about 16 or 17 too.
You couldn't convince me that wasnt fixed
@oneviwatara stop whining that was a great defensive stop by the niners... Hawks had plenty of chances of scoring.
This guy is 100% believable. He answers every question without hesitation and without grandiosity. Hes just passing on what he's seen, no more no less.
Absolutely crazy to hear such candid insights. Not a bit of it is even hard to understand, it's just like, "Ohh. Yeah that makes sense. Duh"
While you might not be wrong this is an edited show not a live or raw interview. It's unclear how quick he's ACTUALLY answering these questions.
No hes not hes a verified proven crooked official who continues to blame others for his downfall...blaming the league and other refs...just read game in a game Donaghy remains a manipulative liar...
That Lakers vs Kings series is one of the worst sports officiated series ever. It was clear to me as a teenager that the fix was in.
This, along with the fact that I was a huge AI fan as a kid, really made me root hard against the Lakers.
That serie made me hate the Lakers. I used to be a huge fan of them,I wanted a victory but not THAT way ...
Negusis 85 he didn’t even ref that game relax
Jsalcedo23 he said series not game.. n he never said he did ref any game it was fixed
@Megalodon Unlocked heat/mavericks 2006 was bad too.
That Lakers-Kings series was insanely great. So disappointing to hear Game 6 was fixed.
bout to happen again with foster coming in for g7
Yah, I live in Sac. That was a great series. me and all the fellas thought FOR SURE, the Kings were robbed before this guy's story came out. It was so obvious. That being said, the Kings had MANY opportunities to still win that series but didn't overcome. to bad. That was a great squad
@@anthonychaparro3443I was so angry about that game six. It's hard to overcome the Lakers and the refs.
Talks like Adam Sandler 😂
funnier than sandler too
Correction. He talks like an Adam Sandler character...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sean Mulholland he’s got an Irish last name
😂😂😂
Looks like him too.
The interviewer should never talk more than the guest.
I agree, but you can also tell that Tim is a quiet guy.
@@brianbonnell4849 There's nothing more uncomfortable to a person being interviewed than silence...it makes them talk more. The easiest out is when the interviewer just keeps talking...it lets the interviewee off the hook. It's hard to do, but it's a skill that all good interviewers have. I don't care about who Patrick sold insurance to, or where the Sizzler was located...I care about the thoughts, actions and motivations of a crooked NBA referee. Cheers!
@@coachhiggs agreed, a good interview indeed, dude has great focus
Tell that to Rachel Nichols
@@brianbonnell4849 must have been a rough year in prison
Of course the NBA isn't gonna hire Donaghy. Unlike the SEC and the FBI examples, the shady stuff going on in the NBA directly benefits them and is a result their own directive. Also, I agree with Patrick, I'm sure the NBA did everything in it's power to ensure Donaghy wasn't charged with fixing. As brilliant as Stern was, he was just as devious.
My problem with the nba has always been what he says... in college you ref by the rulebook & in the nba you ref by the names on the jerseys. How did this become acceptable ugh :o(
Donaghy is off in the head that’s why. He’s fake & corrupt to the core!
@@shaheedharun445 He hasn't been in the nba for years though & isn't the problem now ;o)
@@JustMeELC LeBron is another corruption piece for Adam Silver 's plan to plot a revenge against Steph and the Warriors dynasty this year after he ruined his plan for having the Celtics win the title last year which Steph stole
@@JustMeELCyes it still is
well he said it pretty clear: players are THE product. The main asset of the league.
Infact I don't see no more basketball when I watch the NBA. It all looks made up and fake just as Wrestling.
Awesome interview as usual. You are the best interviewer every and I watch all of them. This gave me a great look into the game I would have never had!!
I was a Utah Jazz fan back in the day. When they played big market teams the refs would call tons of fouls for the other team. Especially the Lakers, the Lakers in one game shot 37 free throws and only won by 2 points. I’m not a fan of any team anymore
This is why I'm okay with replays during football and basketball games, just get the call right. The time it takes to replay is worth it.
Fans think that the introduction of technology to help clarify referee decisions is hurting their experience and lowering the entertainment value of the sport. The truth is with video replays being accessible the referees have less opportunities and excuses for swaying the outcome of the game. We want the participants to dictate the the outcomes of contests not the officials.
Nfl and nba this year have coaches challenges and refs will barely ever change a call even when its obvious and they dont give a crap. Its discusting that they are rigging games right in front of our eyes but are acting like theyre not. Time to start rioting!!!!
@@stormteam3004 They don’t barely ever change a call, quit lying
Another great interview. And so glad you asked Donaghy about whether he "fixed" games. I don't believe his answer, but good on you for bringing the subject up. Just because he wasn't convicted of fixing, doesn't mean he didn't.
People forget Donaghy said Portland should have beaten the Lakers in 2000. Everyone talks about Sacramento.
Bottom line. It was always fixed for LA
Turtle Island LAC Watch the end of Game 7 Trailblazers choked like they always have since 1977
Not just team, many teams got robbed
Some Portland fans still hate this guy
Na Lakers were up 3-1, if it was fixed then it’s in favor of the blazers climbing back
Best interviews out there! Always educational and professional. Gets to the good stuff but never disrespects the guest! Keep em coming
You should've asked him why they don't ever call traveling
Raughn Sommerville that’s a good one!
Your allowed 3-4 steps now at the discretion of the referee and how the point spread is looking for this game in Vegas....lol...
It's pretty obvious. Most times that a player takes too many steps is when an exciting play is developing. A good example is a breakaway dunk or driving through traffic. To call travels during these moments takes away from the excitement. Much like if they were to blow the whistle every time someone carried the ball, which is every single dribble according to the rules. Since the NBA is a money grabbing organization, they won't take away from the fans excitement.
Most everyone now "carries" or " palms " the ball, ( and gets away with it ) ...
because it makes the game less entertaining. mystery solved.
Patrick I so enjoy your interviews. The breadth of subjects, honest questions and thoughtful ideas on where to take the discussion. I’m watching subjects that I thought I would never care about... and they’re most interesting on how you approach it. Also your own story is inspiring. So glad I found your channel.
Wow how crazy...I spent hrs yesterday watching reffs in the NBA making wrong calls and craziness that happens in the NBA. So this is spot on...ive saw so many of these clips yall are touching on. Thanks!
It changes the game.
@@VALUETAINMENT oh in most sports refs change the game....
You are a master of asking the same question twice back to back and getting different answers.
Really brilliant interview. Much better than I anticipated.
Great interview! Very insightful, and I appreciate your interviewing skills. Didn’t even feel like I spent an hour watching. You really dug deep on interesting topics and asked all the right questions.
Please let your guest finish answering the last question before you ask a new one
Spirit_Bomb watch more of his videos before you judge him off this 1 interview.
I think he is a big lakers fan so he might of gotten carried away but he is a great interviewer
This dude is a really great interviewer. Gotta watch more of his stuff!

Tom Sawyer oh man, I wouldn’t want some random person on RUclips thinking I sound trashy.... geezus I only live for approval from strangers online oh no!
Tom Sawyer you choose to believe in whatever magical religion you’d like, just don’t expect strangers to give a damn about how ones speech makes you feel because of your religious brainwashing. Good day man 🤘
Tom Sawyer nope. You’re attempting to exert your weird religion into others again. Keep that to yourself. It’s notably hilarious when types like you start throwing around hell. Oh no. Your loving god burns people that don’t believe in him yay. You have no idea what I’m in love with. Take your religious awkwardness somewhere else thanks.
Really interesting interview, some serious opinions and facts were stated , this is interesting not only for the NBA and basketball fans , but really teaches a lesson about life and injustice that we see every day in every area of life/sport.
Good job on this interview 👊🏾
As always , incredible content Pat!
How do you give both the greatest financial advice AND awesome interviews. This is crazy!
Rigged or not, I respect him for call the offensive foul on Reggie, when nobody else had the balls to do the right thing.
You are a first class interviewer, good sir! Thank you
Another great interview from patrick !
Great as always! Thank you Patrick, you are one of the best if not the best!
Patrick said “You coached MJ at his prime” and they showed a picture of him when he was with the wizards lmao
he never coached at all... he refereed from 94' to 07' ... 94-98 was MJ's prime
@@tonysopranooo1 Actually around maybe 88 to 93 was M j's prime
Yung Bag 90-97 was MJs Prime.

OmniscientVirtuosity he wasn’t in his prime in those last couple years but he was still the goat. From 88-93 his level of play was at it’s peak...
Patrick should be hired by anyone looking for a guy that stands pack on his mistake and is fair and honest enough to share his journey with no lies I think he's one of the best I've seen... it's a moment of Truth 💯🍀🌠💎💪🏁
Another great interview with former Philly guys. This along with Phil, Frank Natale now Delco native Tim - some of the most interesting interviews.
This is the best RUclips channel. PERIOD.

Love Tim....especially when Patrick is going on his rants and Tim just sits there very quite Lmao
Great interview! Thanks
Another excellent interview!
Glad he did this interview so we had more insight from his point of view, definitely shouldn’t have been gambling but if everything he said was true then it wasn’t really that crazy.
Haven't watched the NBA in probably 10 or more years but this is a very interesting interview.
@Patrick Lim it's soft now

Idk how you get these people to come on, but tou are a true hustler, Patrick.
I salute you
Best interview I've heard in a long time.
Tim Donaghy looks like Rick Santorum :)
lulz!
Allowing a referee to work for a player in the off-season is beyond BS. The NBA has fixed draft lotteries. And now the crap today - gone.
Excellent interview.
Really well done! One of your best interviews ever!
great video man unfortunately many greats were treated badly with no calls it shows corruption is still in the league
We’ll see how Adam Silver improves this part of the game.
Valuetainment yeah man keep doing im saluting you big fan here
the Tim donaghy story was put out there to make it seem like there was a rogue agent in the NBA fixing games as a means of saying that the rest of the NBA referees are legitimate. ALL PRO SPORTS ARE FIXED. The Lakers won the finals on FATHER /DAUGHTER day last year LOL.
You sir understand how the guys looking at the bigger picture run things. Tim Donaghy was the stooge they used for public relations.
As a NBA big fan: thank you! The best RUclips channel right now.
Greetings from Spain
Much love
Great interview
Everybody hates and demonized this guy for exposing what really goes on... People hate when you expose their FANTASY and bring them to REALITY.. and the reality of this world is that corruption reigns and has always reigned at the higher levels
You are an enlightened being for realizing the truth. But the majority of people likes to live in their fantasy. The truth is ugly and can flip someones world upside down if they realized TRUTH. Not everyone wants to be awoke, its better in fantasy land. Let these zombies find the truth themselves. Stay woke brother.
From one Levantine guy to another, this is a great interview Patrick. Shukkran. I needed this after what the refs did to my Celtics last night in game six 🇹🇷 🇸🇾 🇱🇧
We going to the Finals ☘️
Celtics are a big market team. There is no way the calls go against you.
Best interviewer out here. Brings in so many different perspectives!
Great interview!

I question the NFL now too especially after last years playoffs
I am done watching the NFL. They can take a knee I am not watching
You mean the raiders will reach the super bowl in the next three years, just like all relocating teams
yeah because like absolutely nobody outside of Boston is sick and tired of the Patriots...I know what you are referring to though but that was just a terrible call, why would the NFL rather have the Rams than the Saints in the Superbowl? Nobody in LA gives a shit, there were like 50 Rams fans at the SB...
Lol you question the nfl now? Haha....they’re the worst of the bunch....what’s worse is they lie right to your face and they have been for years

Great interview PBD!
I’ll never forgive this guy. Cost me 2000$ back in 2004
No he didn't. You cost your dumbass self $2000…..
Lmao
David Stern did that buddy! Tim Donaghy testified to David Stern giving instructions each night on who gets the calls and who doesn't, and Tim placed his bets off of that!!
McDonalds Dwight I’m with you. I lost on the Kings Lakers Western Conference Finals thanks to this scumbag.
Nigmatics he didn’t ref game 6 of kings V lakers, watch the interview. Dude’s scummy but he exposed refs for that, he wasn’t part of it
Great book called The Fix is In by Brian Tuowy.
Great Interview!
Love this channel PBD is the man!
Much love
This is so fucking disturbing. The one game that really comes to mind where i truly deep down know that the refs had input on the game was the national championship game with Wisconsin and duke. That game has been broken down by many different people and its been proven that calls in the 2nd half of that game were tilted in a major way in dukes favor. And after listening to this I have no doubts that went on. Very very sad
That's college though....even Tim said college is more black and white and nba u ref based of the names of the fronts and back of the jerseys
One of your best interviews. Here I thought all along this guy was a crook for betting on the games. The fake media had me believing that. If he was honest here, he simply like to gamble and that led him to the wrong people because of his status. Not forgettable but certainly forgivable. Thanks Pat, keep em coming.
I'm not sure that Donaghy has the most credibility, though.
You really walked away from watching this video thinking that Donaghy was more credible than the "fake media?" You're easily manipulated, lol.
Donaghy is literally 1000 times more credible than the media.
He is a crook. Regardless to what the media says about him.
@@bhr788 Agreed!
You and Graham Bensinger are the 2 best interviewers in my opinion.
Good stuff to learn after all these years
Good video, I wish the mafia would of been more discussed though. Especially which specific crime families benefited from his information & if anyone else got caught up with the law.
You trying to get this guy killed lol?
@@jesusiracheta8570 gambinbos...family but don't know who I think he became a rat 🐀 and rated on the ref!!!🥴🥴
Why would someone do that? To get clipped for their trouble?
Haven't watched NBA in over a decade because the game is rigged obviously and this guy only validated what I strongly suspected.
Gambling? That angle I didn't expect, but seems like biggest TV Market City Team always wins in clutch games by referee's whistles, free throws, fouls/ nonfouls, ... it's like watching the WWE, knowing the outcome.
Is that really your reasoning. What was the event that caused you to stop watching.
I feel the same way. A bookie told me who would win and how
RageAgainstRustyCage Obviously the league favors certain markets, but WWE? If the outcome is SOOO certain to you, why aren't you a millionaire from betting the games? Just sit down before you hurt yourself...
@@coreythomas9906 not only that, but what about not taking it personally. It's just a game not everything in life.
You're such an idiot if you believe the NBA is rigged. The "biggest TV Market City" teams win because they have more revenue and could get better players. The more money you have, the more talent you get.
Feels less like an interview and more like a lawyer cross examining
great interview
33:03 At this point, I guess Patrick Bet-David is interviewing himself
Another terrific interview by Patrick Bet-David. He knows the questions to ask because he knows sports.

31:23, dude, shut up! Let Tim answer the question!
it is still fixed. just watch any meaningful game or series and you will see it.
Last time I ever watched an NBA game Dr. J was with the 76rs. Seems like the last 10 seconds of a game can take a half hour.
Bad calls can make or break a close game, but the refs can't control whether a player makes a shot or misses a free throw.
@@David_R922 spoken like a true fish.
David R or can they 🧐
The AFC title game, the cheigs should of won but the Patriots got all types of Bs calls!!! The saints Rams game also

That consultant thing Patrick was talking about around the 1hr mark sounds alot like Office Space lol
screwed the kings out of a title
Adam K the refs suck but kings are ass
They did screw those fucks you call the king's, hahahaha, fuckboys

I’m very surprised by how much I enjoyed this interview.
Underrated interview
Jake O'Donnell was "bumped" out of the NBA after the phantom call on Clyde Drexler during a playoff game. He had it in for Clyde The Glide.
I always knew that playoff Lakers vs. Kings was fixed. Kings got screwed a few times in that series.
They shot 31 foul shots in that game and made only 15. That is why they lost.
@@rayostermann7821 the point is had game six was called fairly those numbers of the lack of converting free throws would of meant nothing

This dude gives the best interviews
Some very intreagin intereviews 10 out of 10 luvvin them all😎😎😎
My God 🤦🏾♂️ That was one of the most powerful interviews I’ve ever seen 🤔
What was your biggest takeaway?
The referees ability to break down the game and process information the way hedge fund companies do.
The evil side of me wants to use that kind of knowledge to make millions gambling. 😈😂
But from a business perspective, as well as an athletic team, one could have a great advantage if they simply played a particular game based off the consistency of the referees. As a business man, I’m considering making decisions with that perspective in mind 🤔
@@VALUETAINMENT For me, it was unsettling to see how easy it was for him to get deep into the underground gambling scene. He seems like a man with good character, but addiction doesn't discern between good or bad.
My takeaway is the NBA breeds corruption and rewards it
The FBI watched all the games that Donahey worked that he had bet on. They found that it didn't affect the calls he made.
I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it
I like how they used the clip from the jimmy tatro video of the make a wish kid getting hit sticked
He’s saying he bet, because he knew the calls would favor the team regardless
